In this paper, a new radiating structure with a multi-layered two-dimensional metallic disk array was proposed for shaping the flat-topped element pattern. It is an infinite periodic planar array structure with metallic disks finitely stacked above the radiating circular waveguide apertures. The theoretical analysis was in detail performed using rigid full-wave analysis, and was based on modal representations for the fields in the partial regions of the array structure and for the currents on the metallic disks. The final system of linear algebraic equations was derived using the orthogonal property of vector wave functions, mode-matching method, boundary conditions and Galerkin's method, and also their unknown modal coefficients needed for calculation of the array characteristics were determined by Gauss elimination method. The application of the algorithm was demonstrated in an array design for shaping the flat-topped element patterns of $\pm$20$^{\circ}$ beam width in Ka-band. The optimal design parameters normalized by a wavelength for general applications are presented, which are obtained through optimization process on the basis of simulation and design experience. A Ka-band experimental breadboard with symmetric nineteen elements was fabricated to compare simulation results with experimental results. The metallic disks array structure stacked above the radiating circular waveguide apertures was realized using ion-beam deposition method on thin polymer films. It was shown that the calculated and measured element patterns of the breadboard were in very close agreement within the beam scanning range. The result analysis for side lobe and grating lobe was done, and also a blindness phenomenon was discussed, which may cause by multi-layered metallic disk structure at the broadside. Input VSWR of the breadboard was less than 1.14, and its gains measured at 29.0 GHz. 29.5 GHz and 30 GHz were 10.2 dB, 10.0 dB and 10.7 dB, respectively. The experimental and simulation results showed that the proposed multi-layered metallic disk array structure could shape the efficient flat-topped element pattern.

Objectives: The major objective of this paper is compare the exposure work hours and experieence of ill health symptoms among under and over employment and matched group. Workers with over employment have more exposed to hazards than that with under employment because that workers with over employment work more than those with ender employment. Methods: This study as heuristics one used the third Korean Working Conditions Survey done by Occupational Safety and Health Research Institute in 2011. The sample size is 50,023 economic active persons. Over and under employment were measured by matching method of preferred and actual work hours. The exposed work hours to hazards were measured according to 13 hazardous factors and the experience of ill health symptoms were scaled by the number of experienced 14 ill health symptoms. To compare the exposure and the symptoms experience were compared by mean difference test with F test. Results: The proportion of over employment in male employees is 32.1% and that in female employees is 29.3% and under employment rate is 11.2% in mae and 13.9% in female employees. There is significant difference of the rate of over and under emplyment among age groups, industrial sectors, occupational groups and the state of employment. The difference of the exposed work hours to hazards among under, over and matched group were statistically significant in all hazards by gender. The exposed work hours to hazards in over employment were more than those in under employment. The number of experienced symptoms in over employment is statistically significantly more than that in under employment. Conclusions: Workers with over employment may be vulnerable group in the criteria of hazard exposure and health status. The results have some implications and limitations because that this study is heuristic one. The mismatch of preferred and actual working hours may be unfavorable work condition that has impact on safety and health of workers. The impact mechanism may be investigated as future study, Because that this study used cross sectional survey data, some causal relationships cannot be evaluated.

In this paper, a miniaturized bow-tie monopole UWB antenna with band rejection characteristic is proposed. To miniaturize the proposed antenna, a perfect magnetic wall(PMW) condition is applied to primitive bow-tie monopole antenna. An uneven ground patch, a tapered feeding structure and a edge-chopped main patch are adapted for impedance matching. A quater-lambda slot resonator is inserted at main patch to prevent interference in UWB band from another band. The proposed antenna is fabricated on Taconic RF60-A substrate with relative permittivity of 6.15. The size of the proposed antenna is $30.0{\times}39.7mm^2$, which is only 45 % of the conventional bow-tie monopole antenna. The proposed antenna covers full UWB band with return losses less than -10 dB and has band stop characteristic in 5 GHz WLAN band. The maximum gains are within -1.0~5.0 dBi, the group delay variations are within 1.0 ns and the radiation patterns show directivity characteristics in x-y plane.

Recently, the advance of accurate dynamic displacement measurement devices, such as GPS, computer vision, and optic laser sensor, has enhanced the structural monitoring technology. In this study, the dynamic displacement data was used to verify the applicability of the structural physical parameter estimation method through subspace system identification. The subspace system identification theory for estimating state-space model from measured data and physics-based interpretation for deriving the physical parameter of the estimated system are presented. Three-degree-freedom steel structures were fabricated for the experimental verification of the theory in this study. Laser displacement sensor and accelerometer were used to measure the displacement data of each floor and the acceleration data of the shaking table. Discrete state-space model generated from measured data was verified for precision. The discrete state-space model generated from the measured data extracted the floor stiffness of the building after accuracy verification. In addition, based on the story stiffness extracted from the state space model, five column stiffening and damage samples were set up to extract the change rate of story stiffness for each sample. As a result, in case of reinforcement and damage under the same condition, the stiffness change showed a high matching rate.

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to evaluate the image acquisition ability of intraoral scanners by analyzing the comprehensiveness of scanned images from standardized model, and to identify problems of the model. Materials and Methods: Cast models and 3D-printed models were prepared according to international standards set by ISO12836 and ANSI/ADA no. 132, which were then scanned by model scanner and two different intraoral scanners (TRIOS3 and CS3500). The image acquisition performance of the scanners was classified into three grades, and the study was repeated with varying surface conditions of the models. Results: Model scanner produced the most accurate images in all models. Meanwhile, CS3500 showed good image reproducibility for angled structures and TRIOS3 showed good image reproducibility for rounded structures. As for model ingredients, improved plaster model best reproduced scan images regardless of the type of scanner used. When limited to 3D-printed model, powdered surface condition resulted in higher image quality. Conclusion: When scanning structures beyond FOV (field of view) in standardized models (following ISO12836 and ANSI/ADA 132), lack of reference points to help distinguish different faces confuses the scanning and matching process, resulting in inaccurate display of images. These results imply the need to develop a new standard model not confined to simple pattern repetition and symmetric structure.

A Galerkin finite element model for the analysis of harbor oscillation has been developed based on the extended mild-slope equation. Infinite elements are used to accomodate the radiation condition at infinity and joint elements to treat the matching conditions at the harbor entrance which include the energy loss due to flow separation. The numerical tests for rectangular harbors with fully or partially open entrances show that the energy loss at the harbor entrance considerably reduces the the amplification ratios at the innermost parts of the harbors and that the amplification ratios decrease considerably with increasing incident wave heights and jet lengths at the harbor entrance. Application of the model to the Gamcheon harbor show that when the incident wave amplitude is small the amplification ratios rather increase when the entrance energy loss is included than when ignored because of the shift of the resonance periods. Even though the entrance energy loss was insignificant for the measured long-period incident waves, it would be of great importance if the incident waves were large as in the attack of tsunamis. The resonance period of the Helmholtz mode at the Gamcheon Harbor was calculated to be 31 minutes, which agrees well with the measured one between 27 and 33.3 minutes. The measured resonance periods between 9.4 and 12.1 minutes and 5.2 and 6.2 minutes were also calculated by the numerical model as 10.4 minutes and 6.6 or 5.6 minutes, indicating good performance of the model. On the other hand, it was shown that a variety of oscillation modes exists in the Gamcheon Harbor and lateral resonances of considerable amplification ratios also exist at the periods of 3.6 and 1.6 minutes as in the Young-II Bay.

The behavior of cement-based permeation grouting is divided into three different groups depending on the grain size distribution of the soils: (1) zone of cement-based permeation grouting not feasible; (2) zone of cement-based permeation grouting feasible; and (3) zone in which an accelerating agent should be added to limit the penetration depth. In the cement-based permeation grouting feasible zone, the concept of a representative pore radius was proposed. The ratios of the representative pore radius to the mean pore radius were obtained by performing laboratory test and comparing with clogging theory; these values were in the range of 1.07 and 1.35 depending on the grain size distribution of the soils. In addition, a functional relationship between the lumped parameter (${\theta}$), the representative pore radius and the w/c ratio were derived by comparing and matching experimental results with predictions from theory. In the zone in which the accelerating agent should be added, the controlling process of gel time to limit the penetration depth was experimentally verified. The test results matched well with those obtained from theory utilizing the developed grout penetration program on condition that the viscosity increasing tendency of grout suspension with time is properly taken into account.
When multiple features are presented in the image the computational models for stereopsis select the most activated matches through the excitatory and inhibitory interactions among all possible matches. Using the random-dot stereogram with two surfaces. we investigate whether human binocular mechanism selects the most activated matches. The dots consisting a surface lying in a fixation plane were selected randomly while each of the dots consisting the other surface was paired with each of the original dots in the following manner. After finding the position of each dots in the original random pattern we placed an additional dot to the left and to the right of the original position in each of the left and right image of a stereogram respectively. The luminance of additional dots was varied while that of the original random dots was fixed so that the hypothetical matches presumably could be activated differently. Across the luminance condition the depth of each surface was measured to examine whether matches to be selected were changed depending on the activation level of possible matches. When the luminance of two patterns was within 30% of one another observers perceived an opaque surface. Beyond this value two transparent surfaces were seen with the magnitude of perceived depth varying with relative luminance of two patterns. When original pattern was brighter one additional surface was perceived at the depth corresponding to the disparity of original pattern. When original dot was dimmer. however the depth of an additional surface corresponded to the disparity of newly introduced pattern. These results suggest that there are dynamic interactions within the matching process whereby highly activated matches inhibit weaker one.
A movie is a fiction made on a basis of an author's and a writer's imagination, but all sorts of properties mixed with each other and most realistically expresses the era which becomes the background of a movie and acts as a carrier that connects designers with consumers. Thus, this study was carried out to review how the fashion products that designer's intention and commercial value added are expressed in collections by comparing and analysing the costumes in the movie "The Great Gatsby" that described the life of America's upper-class in 1920s and the 04 S/S Y&Kei collection which were proceeding after getting inspiration from this movie. For this, literature materials were inspected in order to make a theoretical review on social and cultural background and costumes history background in 1920s and the photo materials on movie costume were collected and analysed using DVD video captures, as well as the photo materials on 04 S/S Y&Kei were collected and analyzed through the institute providing domestic fashion information. The following conclusion was deduced through this study. First, in 1920s which becomes the background of this study, the slim shape of Flapper which looks like a young and boy became an ideal figure condition and the straight silhouette with low waist line and the short skirt that rose to knee was popular. Second, as a result of analysing movie costume by classifying it in silhouette, colors, and materials, straight silhouette of low waistline with a near colored - tone seen in the pastel series, including white, beige, pink, and gray was mainly constituted and the metal colors like silver and gold were used. As a material, chiffon, satin, velvet, flower patterned prints, and beads were used, which represented luxurious life of women in the upper classes. Third, as a result of comparing and analysing, it turned out that there was a similarity. However, in dress collection for a heroine, some dissimilarity differentiated from a movie costumes was found out in that the dresses in collection expressed moderate beauty and modernism and elegant beauty at the same time by matching a variety of materials and using black color.

We investigate experimentally and theoretically the splitting of surface plasmon (SP) resonance peaks under TE- and TM-polarized illumination. The SP structure at infrared wavelength is fabricated with a 2-dimensional square periodic array of circular holes penetrating through Au (gold) film. In brief, the processing steps to fabricate the SP structure are as follows. (i) A standard optical lithography was performed to produce to a periodic array of photoresist (PR) circular cylinders. (ii) After the PR pattern, e-beam evaporation was used to deposit a 50-nm thick layer of Au. (iii) A lift-off processing with acetone to remove the PR layer, leading to final structure (pitch, $p=2.2{\mu}m$; aperture size, $d=1.1{\mu}m$) as shown in Fig. 1(a). The transmission is measured using a Nicolet Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) at the incident angle from $0^{\circ}$ to $36^{\circ}$ with a step of $4^{\circ}$ both in TE and TM polarization. Measured first and second order SP resonances at interface between Au and GaAs exhibit the splitting into two branches under TM-polarized light as shown in Fig. 1(b). However, as the incidence angle under TE polarization is increased, the $1^{st}$ order SP resonance peak blue-shifts slightly while the splitting of $2^{nd}$ order SP resonance peak tends to be larger (not shown here). For the purpose of understanding our experimental results qualitatively, SP resonance peak wavelengths can be calculated from momentum matching condition (black circle depicted in Fig. 2(b)), $k_{sp}=k_{\parallel}{\pm}iG_x{\pm}jG_y$, where $k_{sp}$ is the SP wavevector, $k_{\parallel}$ is the in-plane component of incident light wavevector, i and j are SP coupling order, and G is the grating momentum wavevector. Moreover, for better understanding we performed 3D full field electromagnetic simulations of SP structure using a finite integration technique (CST Microwave Studio). Fig. 1(b) shows an excellent agreement between the experimental, calculated and CST-simulated splitting of SP resonance peaks with various incidence angles under TM-polarized illumination (TE results are not shown here). The simulated z-component electric field (Ez) distribution at incident angle, $4^{\circ}$ and $16^{\circ}$ under TM polarization and at the corresponding SP resonance wavelength is shown in Fig. 1(c). The analysis and comparison of theoretical results with experiment indicates a good agreement of the splitting behavior of the surface plasmon resonance modes at oblique incidence both in TE and TM polarization.
