3-D Simulation of Thermal Multimorph Actuator based on MUMPs process

  • This paper describes the three dimension model and simulation results of a thermal actuator based on polyMUMPs process, known as thermal multimorph actuator. The device has potential application in micro-transducers such as atomic force microscope (AFM) tip and scanning tunneling microscope (STM) tip. This device made of a multi-layer materials stack together with consisted of polysilicon, $SiO_2$ and gold. A mask layout design, three dimension model and simulation results are reported and discussed.

  • This paper proposes a MOS circuit extractor which extracts a netlist from the hierarchical mask information, for the verification tools. To utilize the regularity and the simple representation of the hierarchical circuit, and to reduce the debug cycle of design, verification, and modification, we propose a hierarvhical and incremental circuit extraction algorithm. In flat circuit extraction stage, the multiple storage quad tree is used as an internal data structure. Incremental circuit extraction using the hierarchical structure is made possible, to reduce the re-extraction time of the modified circuit.

  • A Hierarchical Circuit Extract Algotithm, which efficiently extract circuits from VLSI mask pattern information, is programmed. Quad-tree is used as a data structure which includes various CIF circuit elements and instances. This system is composed of CIF input routine, Quad-tree making routine, Transistor finding routine and Connection list making routine. This circuit extractor can extract circuit with hierarchical structure of circuit. This system is designed using YACC and LEX. By programming this algorithm with C language and adopting to various circuits, the effectiveness of this algorithm is showed.

  • Soft masks mean that part or all of the program code for operating system or applications are located in the EEPROM or flash ROM. Since Soft masks allow errors to be corrected and programs to be modified quickly and at minimal cost, they are used primarily during testing and in the field trials. This paper introduces a hardware architecture of IC card for soft masks. We suggest a new down loading scheme for soft-mask ROM connected by an I/O interface. This scheme saves the new IC card development cost and time.

  • 본 연구에서 다루고자 하는 마스크 디자인은 개인의 감정과 사고를 적극적으로 표현하기에 적합한 예술 영역에 해당한다. 따라서 마스크에 디자인된 조형미를 살펴보기 위해 디자인 된 마스크의 유형을 분류하고자 한다. 자유주제로 완성된 마스크디자인 작품을 그룹핑 하였으며, 최종적으로 데카탕스(Decadence), 판타지(Fantasy), 인사이트(Insight), 러블리(Lovely), 키치(Kitsch), 하이퍼 테크노(Hyper Techno)의 6가지 유형으로 도출하게 되었다. 이와 같은 유형 연구는 창의적인 마스크 디자인에 대한 정체성을 파악하는 데에도 매우 중요한 역할을 할 것이며, 관련 연구의 기초적인 토대를 마련하는 계기가 될 것으로 기대한다.

  • The semiconductor-metal-semiconductor structure is considered to be promising for high speed electronic devices. To realize this, the selective LPE and the proper design of epitaxial mask were adopted. Enhanced As diffusion made it possible to grow GaAs over W on GaAs. Buried W Schottky diode was fabricated and the rectifying I-Y characteristics were obtained.

  • Currently, CIF is used widely as a common data base to represent IC layouts. The CIF2PG program is developed using C language to obtain electromask or mann 3000 PG file from the CIF input file. By obtaining the PG data, which can realize the actual mask layout, the construction of IC Design Automation System became possible using a general purpose computer.

  • 본 논문은 마스크 방식의 관심 영역(ROI, Region Of Interest) 부호 설계와 구현에 대하여 제시한다. 관심 영역에 대한 정지 영상 압축 알고리즘은 웨이블릿 변환과 사용자가 지정한 관심 영역을 결합하여 설계하였다. 즉, 사용자가 지정한 관심 영역을 이용하여 관심 영역 마스크를 생성한다. 양자화 과정에서 웨이블릿 계수들을 각 레벨과 서브밴드로 구분하고 생성된 관심 영역 마스크 정보를 이용하여 양자화 과정을 처리하여 부호화한다. 관심 영역에 대하여서는 높은 영상 품질과 그리고 전체 영상에 대하여서는 높은 압축을 동시에 실현시킬 수 있는 마스크 방식의 관심 영역 부호화 알고리즘을 설계하고 구현하였다.

  • This paper presents a research on the fast and accurate method of line detection in the image of a wireless mobile robot (WMR). For the improvement of the processing time to detect lines, the characteristics of the transmitted image from the WMR was analyzed, and the efficient preprocessing method among the existing preprocessing methods was selected. And for the improvement of the accuracy to detect lines, the selection method of local maximum value at the Hough array (HA) which has the result of Hough transform was improved by designing a mask and applying it to HA. The experiment was performed with acquired images from the WMR, and the proposed method outperformed the existing methods in terms of processing time and line detection.

  • In this work, we have studied about an RSFQ (Rapid Single Flux Quantum) switch element. The circuit was designed, simulated, and laid out for mask fabrication. The switch cell was composed of a D flip-flop, a splitter, a confluence buffer, and a switch core. The switch core determined if the input data could pass to the output. “On” and o“off” controls in the switch core could be possible by utilizing an RS flip-flop. When a control pulse was input to the “on” port, the RS flip-flop was in the set state and passed the input pulses to the output port. When a pulse was input to the “off” port, the RS flip-flop was in the reset state and prevented the input pulses from transferring to the output port. We simulated and optimized the switch element circuit by using Xic, WRspice, and Julia. The minimum circuit margins in simulations were more than $\pm$20%. We also performed the mask layout of the circuit by using Xic and Lmeter.
