네트워크 혼잡효과를 고려한 인터넷망간 상호정산 방안 연구 (A Study on Settlements in Internet Interconnection under Internet Congestion)

  • The present paper investigates the technological and conceptional characteristics of peering and transit in internet interconnection. Especially, the market with two ISP competing for customers is modeled and the outcome with peering is compared with transit. This paper also analyze the congestion effects on retail price and network capacity. When there is congestion effects occurring from network sharing, the retail price is increased and the fixed fee is decreased with the degree of congestion. Finally, the optimal access charge assuring the socially optimal retail price and network capacity is derived.

국내진출 해외기업들의 R&D관련 투자규모 결정요인에 관한 연구 (A Study on Determinant Factors of Foreign Firm's R&D Investment Scale in Korean Market)

  • Globalization of R&D activities of multinational firms is becoming important in compared with the past, because of increasing globalization of world economy. So, every country tries to attract foreign investment including R&D activities. In this paper, effects of several factors, which determine the scale of foreign subsidiary's R&D activities in local market, are analyzed. Through the review of previous literature, I found that three groups of determinant factors. The first one is the factor which is related to characteristics of local market, such as competitive situation of local market, accessability to research institutions, etc. The second group is the factor which is related to relationship between foreign subsidiary and its mother company. The dominant factors of this group are operation strategy of foreign subsidiary, competitiveness of mother firm, and equity structure of foreign subsidiary. Finally the characteristics of industry affect to the scale of foreign subsidiary's R&D activities. Among these factors, 6 factors are chosen to investigate empirically. For the empirical investigation, 107 foreign subsidiaries among KOITA(Korea Industrial Technology Association)'s list are chosen. Each subsidiary has more than 50% of foreign equity and implement R&D activities in Korea. The results show that sales volume of foreign subsidiary is dominant influencing factor in determining scale of R&D activities in Korean market. And also I found that currently established firms are implementing more R&D activities than old established firms. This is quite interesting finding. However, R&D activities of foreign subsidiary are not vitalized in Korean market. It probably means that Korean government and Korean business partners have to make effort to enhance foreign firms/ R&D activities, because it could contribute technological and economic development of Korean market.

  • Domestic industry has a long history, but it has been suffering for a long time due to its poor competitiveness in management ability, supply of materials, technological development, sales marketing, and distribution networks. Moreover, the industry has not established its strong presence in the world market but is exposed to increasingly greater agonies because of inactive domestic demands, increase rate of import versus export, diversified government policies, and non-selective introduction of high-quality and low-priced foreign named brands of ceramics into the country. Theses factors have partly contributed to consumers' low or negative recognition.

  • The purpose of this paper is to investigate how the young fashion which maintains a large share of fashion market emerged in the 1960s, its characteristics and what its influences on the contemporary fashion industry are. In particular, I am going to consider the significance of the young fashion by looking at the formation of niche market, the emergence of mass market for fashion, the expansion of aesthetic categories. we will be able to see the 60s young fashion of the young generation who emerged as new consumers in mass consumer culture exerted important influences on the contemporary fashion industry. First, the counterculture of young generation who rebeled against the uniformity of mass production helped the formation of new niche market. Second, the young fashion which pursued the lower prices for fashion made a big contribution to the popularization of fashion. The young generations tendency to demand new things and rapid change coincided with that of inexpensive popular fashion people can buy and change more easily than expensive high fashion. Lastly, the playful tendency of the young fashion expanded the aesthetic boundaries of the clothing, going beyond the uniformity of modernism with the emergency of diverse fashion materials - fabric and textiles - enable by technological development and the miniaturization of forms as revealed in mini skirt.

Formation of a Competitive Paradigm of Ensuring Economic Security of Industrial Enterprises in the Conditions of Formation of Circular Economy

  • The article examines the formation of a competitive paradigm of economic security of industrial enterprises in the formation of a circular economy. The basic laws of industrial enterprises are formed, which determined the characteristics of competitive positions and threats. The basic competitive concepts and their application at maintenance of economic safety of the industrial enterprises in the conditions of formation of circular economy are described. Thus, the technological approach to the formation of a competitive paradigm is based on production technologies, opportunities for technological modernization and development of infrastructure and intellectual competencies. The institutional concept reveals the regulatory mechanisms for ensuring competitiveness through the protectionism of national industrial enterprises, standardization and regulation of market imbalances. The innovation-investment approach within the competitive paradigm is also manifested in the creation of competitive advantages due to the presence of active innovative developments and their commercialization, knowledge and competencies of staff, capitalization of intelligence and communications, constant updating of infrastructure and technologies. Collectively, innovation and investment effects on the level of economic security allow industrial enterprises to ensure resilience to increasing competition, the emergence of new market challenges in the formation of a circular economy. A strategic approach to the application of a competitive paradigm to ensure the economic security of industrial enterprises allows you to justify the prospects for development and design behavioral models to predict and assess potential threats. The concept of system management is based on the complexity of threat analysis, the integrity of the economic security system, system-forming functions and patterns of implementation of industrial development tasks in the formation of a circular economy. The application of the described concepts is formalized by the authors through the definition of the basic patterns, directions and characteristics of their impact on the elements of the security system of industrial enterprises in the formation of a circular economy.

  • The trends of economic business environment have been changed to the ultimate competion, diverse market and need of new technology. To enforce the international competitive power, continuous technology innovation should be propelled. But the characteristics of small and medium company make it hard to get lead of market share. The industry of transportation and stevedoring machinery also have the same situation as small and medium company. This paper try to present the way of competitive power. The Strategic technology innovation for the industry of transportation and stevedoring machinery consists of product strategy, process design strategy, infra-structure strategy and R&D. There are benefits and shortcommings to get the competitive power for the industry of transportation and stevedoring machinery. Therefore the onclusion presented that capital for reverse engineering, export policy, human resource, thechnical cooperation with the institutions are required.

Innovation in Indian Industries: Insights from the First National Innovation Survey

  • Technological innovations, as the key to building competitive advantage, need a comprehensive review to address the issues related to transformation of the Indian industries. The present paper reports the broad findings of the first National Innovation Survey undertaken by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India. The findings presented here highlight the status of innovation related activities in different industrial sectors, its weaknesses, and areas requiring institutional interventions. The survey results underline the fact that the innovation activities in Indian industries are more for survival in a competitive market conditions than to create market advantage. A sort of disconnect between the innovation support system and the production system is a discernible fact that surfaces from the study. The study also indicates certain characteristics of the innovation behaviour of firms that brings out developing country issues of innovation.

업무편향적 기술변화에 따른 지역노동시장에서의 일자리 구조 변화와 임금 프리미엄 영향요인 (Task-Biased Technological Change, Occupational Structural Change, and Wage Premium in Local Labor Market Areas, Korea)

  • 본 연구는 2010년부터 2020년까지 우리나라 지역노동시장권을 대상으로 업무 특성에 따른 직종 집단간 고용구조의 변화를 살펴보고, 임금 프리미엄에 미치는 영향요인을 분석하는 데에 목적이 있다. 본 연구의 분석은 크게 세 단계로 이루어진다. 첫째, 한국직업정보시스템의 『재직자조사』 원자료의 직종별 업무 특성 자료에 대해 탐색적 요인분석을 수행한 다음, 비단순반복 업무지수를 산출하여 일자리를 유형화한다. 둘째, 『인구총조사』원시 자료와『한국노동패널조사』자료를 결합해 개인 수준 및 지역 수준 자료를 구축한 다음, 2010년부터 2020년까지 직종별 고용 분포 변화를 분석한다. 셋째, 위계적 선형모형을 활용해 직종 집단별 임금 프리미엄에 영향을 미치는 개인 및 지역 수준 요인을 실증 분석한다. 분석 결과에 따르면, 2010년 이후 비단순반복 업무지수가 높은 직종의 고용비중은 계속해서 증가했으며, 대도시 지역노동시장에서 지배적인 고용구조를 가지고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 도시화경제로 인한 집적경제 외부효과는 비단순반복 업무를 주로 요구하는 직업에 종사하는 임금근로자에게 유의한 임금 프리미엄을 제공하는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 지역노동시장 맥락에 따른 일자리 구조의 전환과 임금불평등의 양상을 실증 분석함으로써 지역노동시장의 불평등과 양극화 완화를 위한 정책 대안 마련에 시사점을 제공하고자 했다.

융복합 산업의 이해와 IT 활용을 통한 융복합 산업 촉진방안에 관한 연구 (The Promotion Strategy of the Convergence Industry by using IT Utilization)

  • The economic growth that depended on IT industry is reaching to a limit. In order to overcome the limit, the convergence industry that makes new market and products is essential. However, companies preparing a jump into the convergence industry must understand the exact visions and characteristics of convergence. Therefore, we investigated the structural changes of industries caused by convergence and importance characteristics of convergence. Also, we demonstrated the current status of the convergence industry and analyzed economical, social/cultural, and technological environments that the companies are facing, and elaborated the opportunities of convergence. At last, we suggested basic requirements and strategies for companies starting a convergence business and IT utilization methods to accelerate the convergence business activation.

중소기업의 협력활동과 지식공유가 기업경쟁력에 미치는 영향: 기업환경요인의 조절효과 (The Effect of Inter-firm Cooperation and Knowledge Sharing on Firm Competitiveness of SMEs: Moderating Effects of Environmental Factors)

  • Recognizing the significance of inter-firm cooperation for firm's sustainable competitive advantage in today's business environment, this study investigates the effects of inter-firm cooperation and knowledge sharing on firm competitiveness based on 327 Korean small and medium sized enterprises. We also examines a mediating effects of knowledge sharing on the relationship between inter-firm cooperation and firm competitiveness and moderating effects of environmental factors on this relationship. The environmental factors are conceptualized by intensity of market competition and technological change. The main findings of the study are as follows: First, the paper found that inter-firm cooperation was positively associated with firm competitiveness while there was also a positive relationship between knowledge sharing and firm competitiveness. Second, it also shows that knowledge sharing partially mediated the relationship of inter-firm cooperation and firm competitiveness. Third, we also found that technological change had negative moderating effects on the relationship between inter-firm cooperation and firm competitiveness. This study suggests that understanding of inter-firm cooperation with consideration of environmental characteristics are required for better firm competitiveness.
