  • Conventional maritime communication struggles to provide high data rate services for Internet of Things (IoT) devices due to the variability of maritime environments, making it challenging to ensure consistent connectivity for onboard sensors and devices. To resolve this, we perform mathematical modeling of the maritime channel and compare it with real measurement data. Through the modeled channel, we verify the received beam gain at buoys on the ocean surface. Additionally, leveraging the modeled wave motions, we estimate future angles of the buoy to use the Extended Kalman Filter (EKF) for design beamforming strategies that adapt to the evolving maritime environment over time. We further validate the effectiveness of these strategies by assessing the results from an outage probability perspective. focuses on improving maritime communication by developing a dynamic model of the maritime channel and implementing a Kalman filter-based buoy motion tracking system. This system is designed to enable precise beamforming, a technique used to direct communication signals more accurately. By improving beamforming, the aim is to enhance the quality of communication links, even in challenging maritime conditions like rough seas and varying sea states. In our simulations that consider realistic wave motions, you've observed significant improvements in link quality due to the enhanced beamforming technique. These improvements are particularly notable in environments with high sea states, where communication challenges are typically more pronounced. The progress made in this area is not just a technical achievement; it has broad implications for the future of maritime communication technologies. This paper promises to revolutionize the way we approach communication in maritime environments, paving the way for more reliable and efficient information exchange on the seas.

  • Various countries around the world are conducting various studies to apply information and communication technology to marine safety. Based on this, the International Maritime Organization (IMO) has established the e-Navigation standard to apply the latest information and communication technology to marine services. In Korea, the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries is promoting Korean e-navigation considering domestic marine environment and is trying to apply LTE communication method as a high-speed wireless communication method at sea. In this paper, we describe the development of an LTE based marine router system supporting 700Mhz frequency band allocated for high speed maritime wireless communication service. Experiments on the possibility of 100km distance communication from base station using LTE based ship router are shown. LTE - based high - speed maritime wireless communication router system can provide communication infrastructure necessary to develop various accident prevention technologies that may occur at sea.

  • The HF band SSB communication of coast radio station had operated with principal axis of maritime communication until early in the 1990. But, that is changed with development of data communication and satellite technique, which have operated a few by rapidly decrement of user with accomplishment of the CMDSS. Recently, the radio system of HF band is expanded to globe maritime communication, which is support to maritime safety information and data traffic service by low charge with the SSB high speed modem. This study have proposed the digitalize method for maritime communication system using HF band in domestic.

  • e-Navigation strategy IMO promotes is defined as it is necessary for network and information standard to provide various maritime safety informations to in land and on board users, and it is expected to provide a large amount and diverse kinds of maritime spatial information services to them. However, as there are some limits to transmit that by current mobile maritime communication technologies, it is required to simplify and optimize the information. In this study, tree node method is applied to ENC using Douglas-Peucker algorithm and we arranged the effect of simplified spatial information through CALS method which compensates the defect of basic tree node method.
