A Study on the Development of Wind and Wave Model of Typhoon

  • In this paper, after analyzing other models with their advantages and disadvantages, we proposed a simple parametric model for calculating wind speed & direction and wave height & direction at any location around the typhoon at sea. The proposed wind-field model of typhoon is asymmetric, and consists of a circular symmetric wind-field caused by the pressure gradient of stationary typhoon and a moving wind-field caused by the movement of typhoon. By verifying this model through observed data, we found that it is accurate enough to develop the simulation software for training students and seafarers so as to take appropriate actions while being faced with the typhoon at sea.

  • In the 21st century, maritime industry is the field, which play an important role in the improvement of human. Due to geographical conditions and the development of technology, the demanding of human can be solved easier by shipping. With the advantage of the location and the help of modern technology, maritime in dustry bring various advantage for HaiPhong. In this field in general or the job such as assistant, marketing and the contribution of women is undeniable. Meanwhile, with the field of shipping, there are some problems, which are preventing women from the work of seafaring. However, in the current, female employees are necessary in all the work, the thinking of the job for only male still exit in the brain of citizen. Therefore, the solutions for this problem need to set not only in maritime industry but also for the others heavy industry.

  • At the beginning of 1930, the relations between the growth rate of plant and the magnetic field have been reported. It has been known as the magnetic field accelerates the activation of cells. But the study on the influence of magnetic field strength on the growth of plants is insufficient. In this paper, the effect of a magnetic field on the growth of radish sprouts was observed. We measured the growth of radish sprouts when the supplied magnetic field strengths are 20, 40, 60mT, respectively. We found that the rate of growth is the best when the supplied magnetic field strength is 60mT.

  • The ship's signal sound dispersed by air, obstacles, and noises due to absorption, reflection, and disturbances, respectively. It is one of the factors of marine casualties by misjudgment if receiving direction The last target of this study is to prevent inherent marine casualty using the analysis-evaluation techniques if the interferences of ship's signal sound. In this work, three-dimensional sound field control model is proposed to simulate various sound transmitting characteristics according to sea environments at sea The efficiency test of the model was carried out using VR-based ship simulator.

  • This paper describes a lighting warning system (LWS) which consists of a corona needle electrode, a low noise differential amplifier, an A/D converter, an one-chip microprocessor, a LCD and alarm devices. The corona needle electrode is used to measure electric field intensity caused by thunderclouds on the ground level. To evaluate the sensitivity of the LWS, calibration experiment was carried out using a round-shape parallel plate electrode system. The theoretical and experimental results show that the LWS can measure electric field intensity over 2 [kV/m].

  • 지구는 하나의 거대한 자석으로 지구상의 어디에서나 지자계가 존재한다. 이러한 지구 자계는 우리나라의 경우 Vertical $40{\mu}T$, Horizontal $0.2{\mu}T$이다. 최근 미세 자기장을 이용한 첨단 기기들에 대한 응용 연구가 활발히 전개되고 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 지자계의 상쇄뿐만 아니라 자계의 방향과 크기를 조절하여 균일한 자기장이 존재하는 공간을 설계하고 제작하였다.
