The purpose of this study was to find out the characteristics of the exchange resources when women choose their spouse, and their marital satisfaction in accordance with those resources. For this, women under marriage of less than five years were subjected, categorized into three groups according to the age difference of the couple, and were examined the influence of the personal and parental resources when choosing their spouse on the early marital satisfaction. The results of the study were as follows: First, the personal and parental resources for each age difference of the married couple didn't have a meaningful difference in general. Second, it is shown from the characteristics of the marital satisfaction of each age difference group that there is no particular meaningful difference. Finally, when it comes to the difference in marital satisfaction in accordance with the exchange resources, the personal resources had a meaningful difference in the value field in case of having the same religion. In case both the husband and wife were the second child or younger, there was a meaningful difference in the mutual action field than there was when they were both first-born. In the emotional and the mutual action field of marital satisfaction, a meaningful difference was seen when the couple had the same kind of jobs than when wives had upper level jobs. Concerning the parental resources, a meaningful difference was shown in the mutual action field of the marital satisfaction when the parents of the both sides had the same level of scholastic attainment.
Objectives: The purpose of this study is to examine whether the maternal and paternal value of children mediates the relationship between the marital relationship satisfaction and the parental sense of competence in the longitudinal dyadic approach. Method: The data were obtained from the Panel Study on Korean Children (PSKC) conducted by the Korea Institute of Child Care and Education. Using the Actor-Partner Interdependence Model(APIM), the author analyzed three waves (from 5th to 7th year) of the data, and the sample size was 1,773. The average age was 34.79 for mothers, and 37.26 for fathers. Their average length of marriage was 95.3 months, and their children were 51.03 months old on average. Results: The marital relationship satisfaction influenced the parental sense of competence with both the actor effect and the partner effect of mothers and fathers. The marital relationship satisfaction also influenced the value of children, with the actor effect from both mothers and fathers and with the partner effect only from mothers. The value of children influenced the parental sense of competence with the actor effect only from mothers and fathers. Also, the value of children mediated the relationship between the marital relationship satisfaction and the parental sense of competence with the actor effect from both mothers and fathers. For the partner effect, only the mediation path from fathers' marital relationship satisfaction to mothers' value of children to mothers' parental sense of competence was significant. Conclusions: These results suggest the importance of highlighting the marital relationship satisfaction and the value of children to improve the parental sense of competence.
The present study examined whether enjoyable couple activity and common dyadic coping as daily positive couple interactions have direct or indirect effects on marital satisfaction through the mediation of sexual intimacy among urban Chinese women in the early years of marriage. The subjects were 182 urban women born under the one-child policy, who live in Heilongjiang, Anhui and Beijing provinces of China, and have been married up to six years. Data were collected using a self-administered questionnaire. We conducted a hierarchical multiple regression analysis in SPSS software and tested the significance of the mediation effects using bootstrapping method in Mplus software. The results of the study are as follows. First, both enjoyable couple activity and common dyadic coping had positive direct impacts on urban Chinese women's marital satisfaction and positive indirect impacts on marital satisfaction via sexual intimacy. Second, enjoyable couple activity was the strongest predictor of marital satisfaction, followed by common dyadic coping and sexual intimacy. The path model explained 48% of the variance in marital satisfaction. The results suggest that enjoyable couple activity, common dyadic coping, and sexual intimacy should be considered in the design of interventions to enhance urban Chinese women's marital satisfaction in the early years of marriage.

Second, fathers felt less parental stress when their occupational environments were family friendly. Conclusion/Implications: Ways to improve mariatal satisfacation and a family friendly evironment at work should be sought out in order to lessen the parental stress of fathers raising infants.
This study attempted to explore the characteristics of conflicts in marriage life, and to analyze their impacts on global marital satisfaction perceived by wives in rural areas. The survey data was gathered from 151 rural wives. The degrees of three types of conflicts were shown to be low. while in terms of the degree of seriousness, environmental, interpersonal and intrapersonal are in descending order. Especially the degree of the environmental types of conflicts were significantly different across the family life cycle. In order to analyze the relationships between the types of conflicts and the marital satisfaction, logistic regression were performed. It was found that the environmental type of conflict was negatively associated with the likelihood of satisfaction in the marriage life. On the other hand, one of the control variables, the degree of satisfaction on the husband's job, i.e., farming, was positively associated with it.

The subjects of this study were 274 fathers of 4-5 year old children who enrolled in kindergartens located in Seoul and metropolitan areas. Data was analyzed using the following methods:frequency, percentage, mean, Pearson's correlation analysis, multiple regression analysis and Cronbach's ${\alpha}$. As a result of this study, it was revealed that there were a significant relationship between the marital satisfaction and child rearing altitude of fathers and the social competence of children. However, this study showed that the child rearing attitude rather than the marital satisfaction of fathers was the more influential on the social competence of children.
The purpose of this study is to identify the objective picture of developmental pattern of marital satisfaction of couples based on family life cycle length of marriage marriage cohort birth cohort and age of couples using data from 317 couples in urban cities. The result indicate that the U-curve of marital satisfaction is the special pattern of family life cycle while W-curve is more dominant pattern when data are analysed with length of marriage birth cohort and marriage cohort. The couples differ in their assessment of marital satisfaction through entire their life span which seems for wives to become more dissatisfied over time. The similarity of developmental pattern the spouses appears only in their birth cohort. Discussion and recommendations for future research of the marital satisfaction are suggested.
