  • Heat recovery steam generator(HRSG) is a principal component of the combined cycle power plant (CCPP) which utilizes the waste energy of the gas turbine exhaust gas. A design of the HRSG is a keypoint to achieve high cycle efficiency with competitive cost. This paper presents a brief review on the design of a HRSG which covers the basic design parameters and their effects on the performance and the investment cost. Finally the concept of the optimum design point is presented according to the selection of a pinch point temperature difference and a steam pressure as an illustrated case.

  • Diesel power plant(DPP) with the medium speed diesel engine is operated under the very severe condition in aspect of load and operating time as compared with the marine diesel generator set. So, minimized vibration level have to be insured for the more stable operation of engine and generator. The vibration of generator set mainly comes from the resonance between the rigid modes by resilient mount or distortion modes by structural stiffness and the excitation forces of engine. Then, avoidance of resonance with structural modification is generally well known. In this paper, the first order vibration in non-resonance range and local vibration modes were investigated by impact test, response/ODS(operational deflection shape) measurement and 3D finite element analysis for the additional reduction of vibration. The proposed countermeasures were actually applied and their final effects were verified through the in-situ measurement.

  • This study was conducted to develop an efficiency prediction program of a hydraulic secondary energy converter for calculating annual power generation of a Wavestar type wave power generator. Using the period and wave height obtained from the frequency domain analysis, the behavior of the floating body was obtained by assuming the sin function. The piston displacement and speed of the hydraulic cylinder were calculated considering the behavior of the floating body and the shape of the mechanism. The numerical simulation of the hydraulic system was performed by physically modeling the hydraulic cylinders, check valves, hydraulic motors, which are the main devices. In the future, this analysis program will be used to develop a program for estimating annual power generation of a moveable body type wave power generation device.

  • For multi-body dynamic problems. especially coalescent eigenvalue problems with multiobjective optimization, the design sensitivity analysis is too much complicated mathematically and numerically. Therefore, this article proposes a new technique for structural dynamic modification using a mode modification and homologous structures design method with Genetic Algorithm(GA). In this work, the homologous structure of the resiliently mounted multi-body for marine diesel generator systems is studied and the problem is treated as a combinational optimization problem using the GA. In GA formulation, fitness is defined based on penalty function approach. That include homology, allowable stress and minimum weight of common plate.

  • Experimental investigations of the flow structure and heat transfer enhancement in a channel with a built-in circular cylinder and a wing-let type vortex generator are presented. Without any vortex generators, relatively low heat transfer takes place in the downstream of the circular cylinder where is a recirculation region with low velocity fluid is formed. However with a wing-let type longitudinal vortex generator in the wake region behind the cylinder, heat transfer in the region can be enhanced. In order to control the strength of longitudinal vortices, the angle of attack of the vortex generators is varied from $20^{circ} to 45^{\circ}$, but spacings between the vortex generations are fixed to be 5 mm. The 3-dimensional mean velocity field downstream of the vortex generator is measured by a five-hole pressure probe, and the hue-capturing method using thermochromatic liquid crystals has been used to provide the local distribution of the heat transfer coefficient. The vorticity field and streamwise velocity contour are obtained from the velocity field. Streamwise distributions of averaged Stanton number on the measurement planes show very similar trends for all the experimental cases($\beta=20^{circ}, 30^{circ} and 45^{\circ}$). Circulation strength and heat transfer coefficient have the maximum values when the angle of attack($\beta$) is $30^{\circ}$.

박용 발전기세트 진동 제어용 MR 마운트 개발 (Development of MR Mount for Vibration Control of Marine Diesel-Generator Set)

  • This paper investigates the magneto-rheological(MR) mount for the marine diesel-generator(D/G) sets. Sometimes, significant vibrations over the allowable limit are observed on the D/G sets due to their huge excitation forces. Because the severe vibration can lead to structural damages to the D/G sets, it should be reduced below the limit. Although passive mounts with rubber isolators are usually used, the vibration reduction performance is not always sufficient. In addition, expecting that the vibration levels required by customers will get more severe, vibration reduction devices need to be developed. To the aim, the flow mode type of MR mount has been designed. Especially, the annular-radial configuration was adopted to enhance the damping force within the restricted space. The geometry of the mount has been optimized to obtain the required damping force and the magnetic field analysis has been carried out using ANSYS APDL. To verify the performance of the developed MR mount, an excitation test was conducted. In addition, they were applied to a medium-speed diesel generator and it was verified that about 40% of vibration reduction was yielded.

통신 네트워크 기반의 맥동 부하용 SPMS에 관한 연구 (Research on SPMS for Pulsating Load based on Communication Network)

  • CN(Communication Network)기반의 선박 전력관리 시스템은 선박의 안정적인 항해를 위한 가장 중요한 필수요소이다. 따라서 대부분의 선박은 안전을 목적으로 맥동 부하에 대응하기 위해 필요 용량보다 더 큰 용량의 발전기를 설치한다. 하지만 이러한 비교적 큰 용량의 발전기는 낮은 전력부하에서 발전기의 저부하 손실과 효율을 감소시키는 단점을 지니고 있다. 이에 따라 본 논문에서는 선박의 맥동부하를 방지하기 위한 보조전력을 적용한 하이브리드형 전력시스템을 제안하며, 전력시스템 설계를 위해 실 선박의 운항 데이터를 바탕으로 NI사의 LabVIEW를 이용하여 시뮬레이션을 진행하였다. 시뮬레이션을 통하여 안전항해를 위한 보조전력시스템과 연계한 하이브리드형 전력시스템의 적용방안을 제안한다.

  • 전력설비 용량의 증가와 기술의 진보에 따라 회전기가 대용량, 고전압화 되고 있다. 그러므로 발전기 고장예방을 위한 진단시스템의 필요성이 점차 증대되고 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 동기발전기 불시 정지 사고에 따른 피해를 예방할 수 있는 고장진단 시스템을 개발하였다. 고장진단 시스템을 검증하기 위해 실제 동기발전기와 권선구조가 같은 소규모의 시험장비를 제작하였다. 또한 회전자권선의 단락을 진단하기 위해 홀센서와 검출시스템을 구성하여 정상상태 뿐 아니라 회전자권선 단락 등 다양한 고장상태에 대한 공극자속파형을 검출하였다.

펄스부하에 적합한 이차전지 연동형 선박 전력시스템에 관한 연구 (A study on appropriate ship power system for pulse load combine with secondary battery)

  • 화석연료의 고갈에 따른 연료유의 가격상승과 세계온난화에 따른 그린하우스가스(Green House Gas, GHG)등의 문제가 주목받고 있다. 이러한 이유로 해상운송사업은 연료의 소비를 줄이고 환경보호를 위해 온실가스를 줄이기 위한 친환경선박(Green ship) 기술에 대하여 관심을 보이고 있다. 선박의 전력시스템은 안전한 운항을 위한 가장 주요한 요소 중 하나이다. 이러한 이유로 선박 설계에 있어 대부분의 선박은 바우 스러스터(Bow thruster, B/T), 크레인 등의 장비사용에 따른 피크부하로 인하여 큰 용량의 발전기를 사용하고 있다. 이러한 이유로 선박의 항해에 있어 대부분의 선박의 발전기는 저부하 운전구간에서 운전되게 된다. 50%또는 그 이하의 운전율인 저부하 운전에서는 발전기의 운전효율이 저하하게 되어 많은 연료유를 소비하며 발전기 수명에 좋지 않은 영향을 미치게 된다. 본 논문에서는 입출항이 비교적 많이 있는 컨테이너선박에 이차전지 적용방안에 대하여 연구하였다. 그 결과 이차전지를 적용하여 항해 중 발전기 운전율을 높이므로 연료 소비를 줄일 수 있음을 확인하였다.
