  • This paper proposes the technique of load balancing with traffic which is concentrated to MAP on the hierarchical mobile IPv6. This technique sends the secondary MAP address using the extension option of IPv6, so the upper level MAP will manage it. Therefore, when the overload occurs, it distributes the overload to the secondary MAP address by using redirect tunneling technique, so the efficient communication becomes possible. We validate the feasibility and result of the proposed technique by using ns-2 simulator.

  • Recently, researches that are using deep learning technology in various fields are being conducted. The fields include geographic map processing. In this paper, I propose a method to infer where the map area included in the image is. The proposed method generates and learns images including a map, detects map areas from input images, extracts character strings belonging to those map areas, and converts the extracted character strings into coordinates through geocoding to infer the coordinates of the input image. Faster R-CNN was used for learning and map detection. In the experiment, the difference between the center coordinate of the map on the test image and the center coordinate of the detected map is calculated. The median value of the results of the experiment is 0.00158 for longitude and 0.00090 for latitude. In terms of distance, the difference is 141m in the east-west direction and 100m in the north-south direction.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the possibility of increasing the efficiency of disaster relief rescue operations through collaboration among multiple aerial and ground robots. The robots create 2.5D maps, which are merged into a 2.5D map. The 2.5D map can be handled by a low-specification controller of an aerial robot and is suitable for ground robot navigation. For localization of the aerial robot, a six-degree-of-freedom pose recognition method using VIO was applied. To build a 2.5D map, an image conversion technique was employed. In addition, to merge 2.5D maps, an image similarity calculation technique based on the features on a wall was used. Localization and navigation were performed using a ground robot to evaluate the reliability of the 2.5D map. As a result, it was possible to estimate the location with an average and standard error of less than 0.3 m for the place where the 2.5D map was normally built, and there were only four collisions for the obstacle with the smallest volume. Based on the 2.5D map building and map merging system for the aerial robot used in this study, it is expected that disaster response work efficiency can be improved by combining the advantages of heterogeneous robots.

  • Normaly, the map generlization methode has been used for the making of small scale map using a large scale map. The object join methode is consumed of a lots of processing time and the manual process. The object Join technique used in the NGI based on the digital map ver. 1.0 have problems of poor Joining rate and a lots of processing time. This study has improved the object Join technique considering of the geometry and attribute information for the digital map ver. 2.0. Using improved technique increased joining rate of object and reduced the processing time.

  • Recently, the use of mashup that integrates real-time data with spatial data such as tiled map and satellite imagery has been increased significantly. As the use of mashup has been extended to various fields of O2O, LBS, Smart City, and Autonomous Driving, the performance of mashup has become more important. Therefore, this study aims to compare and analyze the performance of various map platforms, when large amounts of real-time data are integrated with spatial data. Specifically, we compare the performance of most popular map platforms available in Korea, such as Google Maps, OpenStreetMap, Daum Map, Naver Map, olleh Map, and VWorld. We also compare the performance using most common web browsers of Chrome, Firefox and Internet Explorer. In the performance analysis, we measured and compared the initialization time of basic map and the mashup time of real-time data for the above map platforms. From analysis results, we could find that Google Maps, OpenStreetMap, VWorld, and olleh Map platforms showed a better performance than the others.

  • Johne's disease, caused by Mycobacterium avium subsp. paratuberculosis (MAP), is one of the most widespread and economically important diseases in cattle. Current diagnostic methods are based on the detection of anti-MAP antibodies in serum or isolation of the causative agent. However, these techniques are often not applicable for cases of subclinical infection due to relatively low sensitivity. Therefore, finding new antigen candidates that strongly react with the host immune system had been attempted. To effectively detect infection during the subclinical stage, several antigen candidates were selected based on previous researches. Characteristics of the selected antigen candidates were analyzed using bioinformatics-based prediction tools. A total of nine antigens were selected (MAP0862, MAP3817c, MAP2077c, MAP0860c, MAP3954, MAP3155c, MAP1204, MAP1087, and MAP2963c) that have MAP-specific and/or high immune responses to infected animals. Using a transmembrane prediction tool, five of the nine antigen candidates were predicted to be membrane protein (MAP3817c, MAP3954, MAP3155c, MAP1087, and MAP1204). Some of the predicted protein structures identified using the I-TASSER server shared similarities with known proteins found in the Protein Data Bank database (MAP0862, MAP1204, and MAP2077c). In future studies, the characteristics and diagnostic efficiency of the selected antigen candidates will be evaluated.

  • This study aims to investigate the characteristics and to classify the foreign volcanic disaster maps. Authors try to extract the components of volcanic disaster maps and apply them to the Mt. Baekdu volcano that receives worldwide attention recently has been on an early stage in Korea. Internationally, volcano ash disaster maps are derived and reviewed through three analytical framework components: Hazard Map, Risk Map, and Damage Map. These derived components of volcano ash disaster mapping systems are: 1) cumulative map of past disaster records, 2) probabilistic risk map, 3) scenario-based map and case-by-case utilization maps (evacuation response type, emergency information type, disaster preparedness education type) based on this components are presented.

  • Early, national basic topographical map has been represented, stored, supplied in form of DXF(Data eXchange Format) and present digital map is equipped as over form. Since many parts of digital map has been equipped newly to use early digital map form for geographic information system. Especially, many structural editing and geographical search are demanded to exclude geometric inconsistency and logical inconsistency included in the existing digital map. As above, DXF is unsuitable data format to use in geographic information system. For the sake of efficient format, Digital Map Ver. 2.0 that is new map format was developed. In this study, we developed the Mobile Viewer program development which can let us see immediately the digital maps produced in the form of Digital Map Ver. 2.0.

  • In this paper we compare the notion of proper map in the category of topological spaces with that in the category of semialgebraic sets. To do this, we find some equivalence conditions for semialgebraically proper maps. In particular, we prove that a continuous semialgebraic map is semialgebraically proper if and only if it is proper. Moreover, we compare the semialgebraically proper map with the proper map in the sense of Delfs and Knebush [4].

  • Since National Geographic Information System was started, paper maps have been made with computer aided editing of digital map, instead of etching map-size negative film. Automated paper mapping system's necessity is growing more and more, because digital map has changed into Ver.2.0 which include attributes of feature. Therefore, in this study we try to analyze correlation of the digital map feature code and the 1/5,000 topographic map specifications which is necessary for paper mapping automatization using digital map Ver.2.0, and try to develop fundamental modules which will play a core role in automated paper mapping system.
