Research of Geumdongnanganpyeon excavated from Hwangyongsa temple site (황룡사지 출토 금동난간편 검토)

  • Hwangrong Temple was the center of the Buddhist culture of Silla dynasty. It was built in the 14th year of King Jinheung in Silla dynasty, and completely burnt out when the Mongol Army invaded the Korean peninsula during the reign of King Gojong of Koryeo dynasty. 8-year excavation of the site from 1976 as part of the Gyeongju Tourism Comprehensive Plan revealed many things about the Hwangrongsaji. Recently, a book introduced 'Geumdongnanganpyeon' among relics found in the site, but omitted in the Excavation Report published at that time. Though 'Palgak Geumdongnanganpyeon' has numerical signs 六, 七(six, seven), there was no clear explanation of the signs. Thus, this paper examines it. We can guess, through the remaining iron fragment, that the side of Geumdongnanganpyeon is octagonal, and the width of the side S13 fragment belongs to is about 400mm. The overall form of the face is similar to the Geumdong Palgaktop stored in the Museum of Dongguk University, but, in detail, it is similar to the Zhuanlunzang Pavilion of Longxing Temple and the Sakyamuni Pagoda of Fogong Temple in China. And, numerical signs can be understand to designate the numbers of story and face. The reason why the number might indicate the number of story is that fragments which are presumed to be used for the same purpose contain different measurement values, and the basis of the concept of face can be found in efficiency of manufacturing and manufacturing techniques of artifacts of the time. The two aspects mentioned above cannot be confirmed because of not sufficient relics and related researches. But, the overall form may have been multi-story tower of at least two stories. If more studies in various fields are done in the future, it is expected that the original form will be recovered more accurately.

  • A malfunction or breakdown of a manufacturing facility leads to product defects and the suspension of production lines, resulting in huge financial losses for manufacturers. Due to the spread of smart factory services, a large amount of data is being collected in factories, and AI-based research is being conducted to predict and diagnose manufacturing facility breakdowns or manufacturing site efficiency. However, because of the characteristics of manufacturing data, such as a severe class imbalance about abnormalities and ambiguous label information that distinguishes abnormalities, developing classification or anomaly detection models is highly difficult. In this paper, we present an deep learning algorithm for anomaly detection of a manufacturing facility using reconstruction loss of CNN-based model and ananlyze its performance. The algorithm detects anomalies by relying solely on normal data from the facility's manufacturing data in the exclusion of abnormal data.

Trimless Blank Design for Hot Stamping Process of a Sill Side (실 사이드의 열간 프레스 성형을 위한 트림리스 블랭크 설계)

  • The trimming process is required for satisfying the dimensions of a final product in the hot stamping process. In general, the mechanical trimming or laser trimming process is applied after hot stamping. However, these processes have several disadvantages such as short tool life and low productivity. Therefore, in this study, the optimal trimless blank shape for the hot stamping process of a sill side was designed to remove the trimming process after hot stamping. In order to design the trimless blank, numerical analysis was performed. Firstly, CFD analysis was carried out to predict the cooling temperature and holding time of the hot stamping process. Then, the optimal trimless blank shape was determined through FE analysis. The effectiveness of the designed trimless blank shape was verified through a hot stamping experiment at an actual industrial site.

  • In recent years, new technologies such as additive manufacturing have been applied to casting industry, paving new ways to achieve what have traditionally been impossible. In the global market, numerous successful cases of producing cores using additive manufacturing technology have been reported, and new techniques and markets are being developed under governments' support. In Korea, however; cases of applying additive manufacturing to casting are hard to come by, not to mention domestic AM machines and related technologies. Under these circumstances, introduction of additive manufacturing technologies and customized application to domestic casting industry are required. Each chapter of this paper explores topics ranging from the development of AM machine using binder jetting technology among various AM techniques through producing industrial cores to the on-site applications in the foundries.

  • Special quality of automobile clutch master cylinder(CMC) and analyzed aluminum, plastic material comparison. Efficiency of plastic master cylinder can modularize higher, light weight anger of parts, several piece parts by single parts, prove NVH(Noise, Vibration, Harshness) than aluminum master cylinder as analysis result. Also, structure is easy simplicity, exchange, maintenance costs can be reduced and decrease environmental pollution because recycling is superior. According as content of glass fiber increases, mechanical properties of matter of material increase equally and glass fiber changed variously by condition on manufacturing process. Through comparison analysis with Plastic Body development connection site, did verification.

  • The target of this paper is the manufacturing system of mould plant and the object of system development is the reduction of lead times and the improvement of product quality. From the existing MES framework. we found the module to apply in the mould plant, designed and developed the function of the module. Also. as the environment of development is based on internet, we can check and analysis correctly the status of mould plant from remote site.

  • Flow visualization techniques were employed to qualitatively visualize the flow patterns through a 400% scaled up centrifugal blood pump. The apparatus comprised of a scaled up centrifugal pump. high speed video camera. Argon Ion Laser Light Sheet and custom coded particle tracking software. Reynolds similarity laws are applied in order to reduce the rotational speed of the pump. The outlet (cutwater) region was identified as a site of high turbulence and thus a likely source of haemolysis. The region underneath the impeller was identified as a region of lower flow.

  • In the associate degree curriculum of the department of mechanical engineering, the results of the study are presented on the structure and content of a subject based on the case-based learning method. As an case, equipment called a laminator that is actually used in the manufacturing site was selected. Class deals with specific engineering issues at each stage of laminator manufacturing (design-machining-assembly-measurement-maintenance) in connection with general engineering topics in prerequisites in the curriculum. Topics include tolerance fit, length measurement, assembly practice, measurement design and statistics of machine maintenance, etc. Courses that apply the case-based learning method may be included in the curriculum as complementary roles to those that apply other student-centered learning method.

  • The manufacturing industry is continuously pursuing advanced technology and smartization as it converges with innovative technology. Improvement of manufacturing productivity is achieved by monitoring, analyzing, and controlling the facilities and processes of the manufacturing site in real time through a network. In this paper, we proposed a new OPC-UA based digital twin model for smart factory facilities. A testbed system for USB flash drive packaging facility was implemented based on the proposed digital twin model and OPC-UA data communication scheme. Through OPC-UA based digital twin model, equipment and process status information is transmitted and received from PLC to monitoring and control 3D digital models and physical models in real time. The usefulness of the developed digital twin testbed system was evaluated through usability test.
