고추 기계수확 시스템 개발(I) - 고추 재배, 수확실태 조사 - (Development of a Mechanical Harvesting System for Red Pepper(I) - Surveys on Conventional Pepper Cultivation and Mechanization of Pepper Harvesting -)

  • Consumption of pepper, a major spice vegetable used for seasoning Kimchi, continues to increase, but cultivation is in decline due to shortage of rural labor in Korea. The 39.2% of total labor requirement for conventional pepper cultivation was available for harvesting work. Therefore conventional manual harvesting should be turned to mechanical harvesting for labor-saving, cost-reducing and easy work. Surveys on conventional pepper cultivation patterns, labor requirements for various pepper cultivation works, and farmers' opinions on the mechanization of pepper harvesting were conducted to obtain basic informations. The labor requirement for pepper harvesting was 954 h/ha out of a total labor requirement of 2,436 h/ha for pepper cultivation. Harvesting was the hardest work, and hiring workmen for harvesting was also difficult. Farmers preferred to develop a small-scale pepper harvester using agricultural tractor or cultivar. Most farmer agreed to change cultivation pattern for mechanization of pepper harvesting, but hesitated to adopt new one-time-harvesting pepper varieties.

보행형 관리기 부착형 2조식 부분 중경제초기의 개발 (Development of a 2-row Type Band Furrow Tiller for a Walking Cultivator)

  • This study was conducted to develop a 2 row type band furrow tiller for a walking cultivator. The tillage and weeding operations in the furrow of dry fields has been done manually or chemical herbicide has been applied. The application of herbicide induces soil pollution and manual operation requires heavy labor. This 2-row type implement was developed to substitute this manual operation and to minimize soil pollution. The developed implement was composed of power transmitting device, tilling device, frame and tail wheel. The max. plowing width and depth were 300mm and 180mm, respectively. The revolutions of the hexagonal shaft and the tillage shaft were $227{\sim}376rpm$ and $355{\sim}590rpm$, respectively. The adequate working speed was $0.50{\sim}0.83m/s$ and the field capacity was $0.17{\sim}0.28hr/10a$.

일본 아시오(足尾) 銅鑛山地域의 삼림황폐와 삼림환경 복구사업에 관한 분석 (Forest Environment Degradation and Rehabilitation of Copper Mine Area in Ashio, Japan)

  • 1880년대에 이미 대기오염물질에 의한 대규모 삼림이 황폐되었고. 그 후에 이를 복구하기 위해 막대한 예산을 투자하고 있는 일본 아시오(足尾) 지역을 대상으로 삼림황폐와 황폐산지 복구사업 현황을 분석하였다. 삼림황폐의 원인은 구리 제련과정에서 배출되는 아황산가스. 제련과 광산용 목재의 남벌 대형 산불 험준한 지형 불리한 기후조건 등의 복합적인 작용으로 분석할 수 있다. 1897년부터 3년 동안 2,399ha의 식수사업을 비롯한 황폐삼림의 복구사업이 지속적으로 추진되었으나, 삼림황폐와 재해발생이 계속되어 1956년에 황폐산지의 총면적은 2,400~3,000ha이었다. 1945년부터 1996년까지$\ulcorner$인력에 의한 방법$\lrcorner$, $\ulcorner$헬리콥터에 의한 방법$\lrcorner$, $\ulcorner$인력과 헬리콥터 조합방법$\lrcorner$에 의한 시공으로 산복 828.19ha와 계간 133개소에 복구공사를 실행하였다. 예산은 약 800억 엔이 투자되었다. 주요 복구공법은 기초공사로서 사방댐과 흙막이공사, 녹화공사로서 식생반공법과 식생대공법 및 식재 공법이며, 인력에 의한 3단계 시공으로 장소별 완전복구를 목표로 하고 있다. 전반적으로 시공지의 녹화율은 약 49% 정도이며. 완전히 녹화된 비율은 전체 시공지의 10%에도 미치지 못한 실정이다. 남아 있는 황폐산지에 대하여 향후 25년 동안 약 213억 엔을 투입하여 산복공사 564ha, 계간공사 183개소를 복구할 계획이지만. 완전히 복구하는 데에는 몇 년이 걸릴지 예측할 수 없는 상황이다. 이곳에서의 황폐산림 복구공법은 우리 나라의 폐광지 산비탈을 복구하는 데에 적용할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

LCD 모듈 조립라인의 공정 자동화 설계 (A Design for the Automated Process of LCD Module Assembly Line)

  • TFT-LCD process has two advantages as compared with the semiconductor-process. It is that cycle time is short and number of the final products are small. But it needs complicated inspection / assembly line to be treated manually and much higher labor costs in the TFT-LCD process. Also, It is necessary to build PICS(Production Information and Control System) which is automated and intelligent. In this paper, an automated process of LCD module assembly line that can increase productivity and reduce the cost of production to strengthen the competitiveness corresponding with global market is planned in comparison with its manual/semi-auto. It is noted that The automated line for COG$\sim$FOG process replacing with the existing facilities had the following effects; the productivity is increased to about 1.5 times and labor cost reduced 85%. In addition, whole assembly line can be short and simple.

  • Environmental change, labor shortage, and international trade politics make agricultural automation ever more important. The automation demands the highest technology due to the nature of agriculture. In this paper, autonomous pesticide spray robot system has been developed for rose farming in the glass house. We developed drive platform, navigation/localization system, atomization spray system, autonomous, remote, and manual operation system, and monitoring system. The robot will be a great contribution to automation of hazardous labor-demanding chore of pesticide control in glass houses.

저대조 혈관 조영상에서 좌심실 기능의 정량화를 위한 지식 기반의 경계선 자동검출 (Knowledge Based Automated Boundary Detection for Quantifying of Left Ventricular Function in Low Contrast Angiographic Images)

  • Cardiac function is evaluated quantitatively using angiographic images via the analysis of the shape change or the heart wall boundaries. To kin with, boundary defection or ESLV(End Systolic Lert Ventricular) and EDLV(End Diastolic Left Ventricular) is essential for the quantitative analysis of cardiac function. The boundary detection methods proposed in the past were almost semi-automatic. Intervention by a knowledgeable human operator was still required Of con, manual tracing of the boundaries is currently used for subsequent analysis and diagnosis. This method would not cut excessive time, labor, and subjectivity associated with manual intervention by a human operator. EDLV images have noncontiguous and ambiguous edge signal on some boundary regions. In this paper, we propose a new method for automated detection of boundaries in noncontiguous and ambiguous EDLV images. The boundary detection scheme which based on a priori knowledge information is divided into two steps. The first step is to detect the candidate edge points of EDLV using ESLV boundaries. The second step is to correct detected boundaries of EDLV using the LV shape. We developed the algorithm of modifying EDLV boundaries defined adaptive modifier. We experimented the method proposed in this paper and compared our proposed method with the manual method in detecting boundaries of EDLV. In the areas within estimated boundaries of EDLV, the percentage of error was about 1.4%. We verified the useflilness and obtained the satisfying results througll the experiments of the proposed method.

우리나라의 사업장 위험성평가 제도 실시에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Implementation of Risk Assessment System at Workplace in Korea)

  • Risk assessment system which is the point of occupational safety and health management system is recognized to be effective to prevent industrial accident and occupational disease internationally. Ministry of Employment and Labor developed guidance on risk assessment at workplace recently. This guidance presents standard model on risk assessment at workplace. However, enterprises may be confronted with many questions in the process of introducing and operating risk assessment. For risk assessment to be implemented properly and effectively at workplace, there are various questions that need to be considered in advance, including giving shape to standard on risk evaluation and clarifying the implementation system at workplace in advance. Also for risk assessment to be revitalized at workplace, several policy matters need to be settled. First, an administrative agency should present the implementation method of risk assessment more concretely. Secondly, it is necessary for an administrative agency to develop and spread various detailed manual, models and good practices related to risk assessment. Thirdly, a government agency need to apply an incentive & disadvantage policy actively to risk assessment.

  • To survive head-to-head competition, we should keep our labor productivities above those of other nations. However, our labor productivities are low compared to those of the developed countries. It is the well-known fact that we make up for the productivities with long work hours. Entering the line of developed nations safely and enjoying well-being age freely, we need to achieve high labor productivities without sacrificing work hours. What would be a fine solution? Back to the basics! Although it is important to enforce R&D on high-tech products, we should have so-called bluebird philosophy, being faithful to the basics and trying to find solutions at a stone's throw. Basics of basics may be unceasing improvement, establishing reasonable standard times, and maintaining them. To support going back to the basics, this thesis proposes VITAMAX, a motion and time study software. As VITAMAX stands for "Visual Improvement and Time Analysis for Maximizing Profits", it provides a simple and powerful visual tool which is useful for improving manual works and determining standard times. Since VITAMAX is based on the Microsoft Excel and VBA, it is very cost-effective and easy to use. VITAMAX may contribute to the profit increase of manufacturing companies, especially for the small and medium-sized enterprise.

저면관수식(底面灌水式) 분상설비(盆上設備)에 의한 고품질(高品質) 분재(盆栽)의 대량생산(大量生産) (Mass Production of High-Quality Bonsai through Development of Bottom Irrigation System)

  • This study was conducted to cultivate a large quantity of high-quality Bonsai through the development of bottom irrigation system. Bonsai placed on the FRP bed were grown very well by bottom irrigation system compared with direct watering and sprinkler system. It was concluded that bottom irrigation system was possible to reduce considerable manual labor and produce mass production of high-quality Bonsai.

  • Digital hearing aids enclose $6{\sim}8$ tiny components. Those electromechanical components are individually wired by soldering which is a manual labor and sometimes causes components' damage by heating. This paper suggests a PCB design for overcome these problems. Several PCBs are designed and manufactured and circuited to produce ITE(In The Ear) type hearing aids which are inserted in the ear canal. The most optimal size of the PCB design for the ITE hearing aid is presented in this paper.
