수소기관에서 NOx 특성에 관한 연구(2) (The Study on NOx Emission for Hydrogen Fueled Engine(2))

  • The goals of this research are to understand the $NO_x$ emission in direct injected diesel engine with premixed hydrogen fuel. Hydrogen fuel was supplied into the test engine through the intake pipe. Amount of hydrogen-supplemented fuel was 70 percent basis heating value of the total fuel. The effects of exhaust gas recirculation(EGR) on $NO_x$ emission were studied. The exhaust gas was recirculated to the intake manifold and the amount of exhaust gas was controlled by the valve. The major conclusions of this work include: (i) the tested engine was run without backfire under 70 percent hydrogen fuel supplemented; (ii) the peak cylinder pressure was decreased with increase of EGR ratio due to the decrease of oxygen concentration in an intake pipe; and (iii) $NO_x$ emission was decreased by 77% with 30% EGR ratio. Therefore, it may be concluded that EGR is effective method to lower $NO_x$ emission in hydrogen fueled diesel engine.

  • The engine backfire leading to the damage to the intake system is observed in the mixer-type LPG engines. The hot spot flowing back into the intake manifold from the engine cylinder during the valve overlap period is known to give rise to the backfire. This backfire is known to be the main cause of the abrupt stop of the vehicle leading to the accidents on the streets. In this study, the cylinder pressure buildup at the later stage of combustion due to the prolonged burning is presumed to be the main cause of the backflow leading to the backfire. This is experimentally observed by creating the engine misfire using the ill-conditioned ignition systems.

전자식 가속제어장치 안전기준에 대한 실험적 고찰 (An Experimental Study on the Safety Standard of Electronic Throttle Control System)

  • Optimal engine control is needed to cope with the global environmental regulations that are globally enforced. For optimum engine control, the electronic throttle control system (ETCS) is a prerequisite. Automotive makers are having an effect on reducing emissions and improving fuel economy by applying ETCS which is designed to secure stability. The ETCS controls the output of the throttle valve by passing the output value of the accelerator position sensor (APS) to the engine control unit (ECU). In this study, the authors investigated the safety standards of domestic and overseas accelerator control system and tried to understand how the air flow control affects the engine output by replacing the throttle. The authors suggest an improvement proposal of safety standard based on the result of driving evaluation by various modes.

수소기관에서의 배기가스에 관한 연구 (Study on Emission Characteristics in a Hydrogen-fueled Engine)

  • The goal of this research is to understand the NOx emission in direct injected diesel engine with premixed hydrogen fuel. Hydrogen fuel was supplied into the test engine through the intake pipe. Amount of hydrogen-supplemented fuel was 70 % basis on heating value of the total input fuel. The effects of intake air temperature and exhaust gas recirculation(EGR) on NOx emission were studied. The intake air temperatures were varied from $23^{\circ}C$ to $0^{\circ}C$ by using liquid nitrogen. Also, the exhaust gas was recirculated to the intake manifold and the amount of exhaust gas was controlled by the valve. The major conclusions of this work include: ( i ) nitrogen concentrations in the intake pipe were increased by 30% and cylinder gas temperature was decreased by 24% as the intake air temperature were changed from $23^{\circ}C$ to $0^{\circ}C$; ( ii ) NOx emission per unit heating value of supplied fuel was decreased by 45% with same decrease of intake air temperature; and (iii) NOx emission was decreased by 77% with 30% of EGR ratio. Therefore, it may be concluded that EGR is effective method to lower NOx emission in hydrogen fueled engine.

직접분사식 LPG의 분무 및 연소 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Spray and Combustion Characteristics of Direct-injection LPG)

  • As advantages of LPG-DI engine, LPG is directly injected into combustion chamber during compression stroke to reduce compression temperature, prevent knock and spontaneous combustion, and adjust engine output using the amount of directly injected fuel, thereby reducing pumping loss caused by throttle valve. Stratified charge can be supplied nearby spark plugs to allow for overall lean combustion, which improves thermal efficiency and can cope with problems regarding emission regulations. In addition, it is characterized by free designing of intake manifold. Despite the fact that LPG-DI has many advantages as described above, there is lack of detailed investigation and study on spray characteristics, combustion flame characteristics, and ignition probability. In this study, a visualization experiment system that consists of visualization combustion chamber, air supply control system, emission control system, LPG fuel supply system, electronic control system and image data acquisition system was designed and manufactured. For supply of stratified charge in the combustion chamber, alignment of injector and spark plugs was made linear.

반도체/LCD 제조공정에서의 Silane에 대한 ALARP개념의 화재 폭발 위험성평가에 관한 연구 (A Study on the As Low As Reasonably Practicable (ALARP)-Concept Risk Assessment of Silane in Semiconductor and LCD Process)

  • 본 연구에서는, 반도체, LCD 공정에서 금속막을 증착하기 위하여 PECVD장비에 화재, 폭발 위험성과 독성을 가진 Silane가스를 사용하게 되는 장비인 gas cabinet, pipeline, VMB(Valve manifold box), MFC(mass flow controller)장비 등, 전반적인 시스템에 대하여 영국 HES의 ALARP개념을 도입하여 위험성 평가를 실시하여 문제점을 도출하고 대책을 강구 하는데 목적이 있고, 여러 가지 문제점중 절대적으로 수용 할 수 없는 Critical Risk로는 Gas Cylinder를 사용하여 Silane을 공급하고자 할 때에는 필히 Gas Cabinet을 사용하여 공급하여야 하고, Tube Trailer를 사용하여 공급하고자 할 때에는 필수적으로 Purge System을 갖추어 공급하여야 한다. 선택적으로 수용할 수 있는 High, Medium Risk로는 Gas Cylinder 또는 Tube Trailer를 사용하여 Silane을 공급하고자 할 때는 Inlet 부분에 RFO(Resticted Flow Orifice)를 설치하여 사용하고 Gas Supply Room에는 CO2소화설비를 적용하지 말고 Water Mist등 물 분무설비를 적용하여야한다.

단기통 모터사이클 엔진 제어용 ECU에 관한 연구 (A Study on the ECU for Controlling One Cylinder Motorcycle Engine)

  • The most typical fuel control devices of motorcycle engines have carburetors, they are simple in structure and reliable in work. Most of the motorcycle engines have used carburetors in the fuel system, but the fuel economy and the emissions of those engines are bad when we compared with automobile engines. According to stricter emission regulations and higher requirements for fuel economy, the application of the carburetor on the motorcycle engines would be limited. In this paper, we studied about the ECU of motorcycle engine controled by indirect method. A new engine system was designed and experiments were carried out. The experimental results for both carburetor type and ECU type were compared. Maximum torque of $1.053kg{\cdot}m$ at 6500rpm was measured. The engine torque controled using ECU was increased by $10\%$ compared with the carburetor type.

TRANSIENT PERFORMANCE OF AN SI ENGINE BY TRANSIENT RESPONSE SPECIFICATIONS

  • The analysis and evaluation of the transient performance by the transient response specifications under various acceleration speeds and types based on driver's typical acceleration habit are implemented by the experimental study to provide the appropriate direction for the transient control in a gasoline engine. The concept of the transient response specifications which consist of delay time, rising time, maximum overshoot and settling time, and the analysis method using them are introduced to evaluate the characteristics of the transient performance quantitatively. Furthermore four acceleration speeds and four acceleration types are set respectively to realize the various transient states which are similar to the real drive. Several performance parameters in terms of engine speed, manifold absolute pressure, fuel injection duration and air excess ratio are measured simultaneously during the various acceleration using a throttle actuator controlled by a PC. The transient response specifications characterized well the transient performance for the various acceleration speed and types quantitatively. Delay and rising time with increment of the acceleration speed became shorter, but settling time did longer. Intensified acceleration type appeared to be the most economical in view of fuel consumption, and linear acceleration type was found to have the least harmful emission concentration.

디젤엔진 자동차의 EGR 및 공기 제어와 CPF 장치에 관련된 고장사례 고찰 (A Study for Failure Examples of Emission Gas Recirculation and Air Control and Catalyzed Particulate Filter System in Diesel Engine Vehicle)

  • 이 논문은 디젤엔진 자동차의 EGR 및 공기 제어와 CPF 장치에 관련된 고장사례 연구이다. 첫 번째 사례는 엔진진공펌프 손상으로 인해 엔진오일이 EGR 밸브 내부 다이어프램 손상으로 인해 오일이 흡기로 유입되어 연소실로 들어가 불완전 연소함으로써 배기할 때 매연이 발생된 것으로 확인되었다. 두 번째 사례의 원인은 공기제어 장치인 스로틀 플랩(throttle flap)을 점검하였을 때 스로틀 플랩이 고착되어 흡입공기량 부족에 의해 매연이 발생된 것을 확인하였다. 세 번째 사례는, 배기가스 온도센서의 불량으로 인해 온도를 감지하지 못해 재생기능이 되지 않아 매연이 발생된 것으로 확인되었다. 따라서, 배기가스발생으로 인한 환경오염 문제가 발생하지 않도록 최적의 상태를 유지하도록 관리하여야 한다.

압력·온도 변화에 따른 초고압 발생기 성능특성 연구 (A Study of the Variation in Intensifier Performance Characteristics Varying with Pressure and Temperature)

  • 초고압 시스템은 유압동력 발생장치, 충격압력 발생장치, 초고압부 오일 보충장치, 기동 및 제어반 등으로 일반적으로 구성된다. 유압동력 발생장치는 초고압 발생기에 유압원을 공급하고, 초고압 발생기에서는 공급되어진 유압원을 이용하여 초고압으로 압력을 증폭한다. 기동 및 제어반에서는 시스템을 운전하기 위한 전기모터, 밸브, 센서 등에 대한 제어 및 관찰을 하기 위해 사용된다. 본 연구에서는 초고압 압력을 발생시키기 위한 제어 방법을 서보밸브를 사용한 유량제어 방식에서 비례 릴리프 밸브를 사용한 압력제어 방법을 사용하여 연구하며, 초고압 압력 발생기의 압력을 가하는 주기와 유압동력 발생장치의 작동유의 온도 변화에 따라 충격압력을 발생시키는 성능이 변화하는 특성을 연구하는 것을 목적으로 한다.
