  • In recent years, attention of ship owners for the energy saving of the vessel is being collected due to the volume decline. Ship accommodation consists of watertight type windows and is closed, Ship HVAC is used to promote a comfortable environment for the crew. In addition requirements for comfort of the crew is getting stronger with the improvement of living standards, there is a need for HVAC improvements. In this paper, propose method to save energy and improve HVAC controls by using the HVAC structure of the variable air volume.

  • The purpose of this study was to explain the performance pattern of health education and related factors in elementary school. The data were collected from school nurses who have been working elementary school. Sample of 77 were analyzed by percent distribution, ${\chi}^2$-test, discriminant analysis. The performance rates of health education was 74%, Only 19% of total carried out health education of 6 hours per week. Important variables that was showed significant association with health education level were as follows: Perception of importance about health education among personal characteristics of school nurses and size of school c1ass, cooperation level of school administrator, operation method of school health clinic, the difficulty of school health clinic among school organization characteristics. The canonical correlation between the health education (yes or no) and important independent variables was 0.52. Among them, operation method of school health clinic. perceiveness of health education, size of school class represented the significant contribution (canonical coefficient: 0.66, 0.54, 0.52) to school health education. These findings suggest that structure and management variables of school organization are more important than personal variables of school nurses related to activation of school health education. Therefore, it is expected that the quantity and quality improvement of school health education be able to accomplish through the systematic support of school organization and government demension.

  • Seventeen specimens (29.1~50.7 mm SL) of the starry goby, Asterropteryx semipunctata, were collected from the southern coast of Jeju Island, Korea, and described as the first record from Korea. The species is characterized by having separated pelvic fins, five to eight short spines on posterior margin of preopercle, and numerous blue spots on head, body and unpaired fins except for first dorsal when fresh. We proposed a new Korean name, 'Cheong-byeol-mang-duk', for the species.

  • A hypogean gobiid, Luciogobius pallidus was described as the first record from Korea and also as the westernmost record of the species from the world, based on four specimens (31.2~53.6 mm SL) collected from Jeju Island, Korea. The species is characterized by having yellowish orange body color with I, 10~11 second dorsal fin rays, I, 10~12 anal fin rays, 13~15 pectoral fin rays, and 36 vertebrae as well as small embedded eyes beneath the skin. A new Korean name, "Juhong-mi-ggeun-mang-dug" was proposed for the species.

  • Multiscale analysis is a stepwise procedure to obtain macro-scale material laws, directly amenable to structural analysis, based on information from finer scales. An essential ingredient of this mode of analysis is mathematical homogenization of heterogeneous materials at these scales. The purpose of this paper is to demonstrate the potential of multiscale analysis in civil engineering. The materials considered in this work are wood, shotcrete, and asphalt.

  • This study aims to clarify the transformation of urban spatial structure around old castle in cheong-ju city. The urban spatial structure is composed with road system, block division, and lot system with original cadastral map in 1913 and 2011 GIS. Transformation of road system is classified into control of road line, construction and extension of road. Construction of arterial road was divided into Nam-juro and Mang-sunro with 2 blocks and lot system was destoyed. Transformation of block has not been developed except 4 blocks. The 4 blocks were divided into east-west or north-south direction and became 8 blocks. Transformation of lot system is classified into maintained, subdivided, and destroyed lots in shape and size of lots. Maintained lots were found in large lot in size for public office and park. Subdivided lots were mainly represented with the existing main road, an active alleys, and so on. Destroyed lots by road construction and extension were showed in Nam-juro. Although all these transformations are used to enhance urban spatial structure. The old systems have remained around old castle in cheong-ju city.

  • A specimen of Redigobius bikolanus (29.0 mm SL) belonging to the family Gobiidae was collected by a hand net from the estuary of Changgo-cheon (river) in Andeok-myeon, Jeju Island, Korea. This specimen was characterized by having 26 lateral line scales, 7 predorsal scales, 7 transverse scales, anterior oculoscapular canal, preopercular canal, and four black spots between origin of anal fin and lower origin of caudal fin. The morphological characteristics of the specimen well matched those of Redigobius bikolanus previously reported. Thus, we newly add this species to the list of Korean fish fauna and propose its new Korean name, "Jeom-bak-i-mang-duk".

  • Based on a single specimen (49.9 mm SL) collected from Incheon River estuary, south-western Korea, Gymnogobius cylindricus was described as the first record from Korea as well as the westernmost record of the world. The species is characterized by having a large maxilla extend far beyond posterior margin of eye, dorsal fin with VI-I, 12 rays, anal fin with I, 11 rays, and without dark blotches and dots on lower part of body and caudal fin, respectively. A new Korean name, "Ga-neunsal-mang-dug" is proposed for the species.

  • Olive culture is very important in the Mediterranean Basin. A severe outbreak of Olive Quick Decline Syndrome (OQDS) caused by Xylella fastidiosa infection was first noticed in 2013 on olive trees in the southern part of Apulia region (Lecce province, southern Italy). Studies were carried out for detection and diversity evaluation of the Apulian strain of Xylella fastidiosa. The presence of the pathogen in olive samples was detected by PCR amplifying the 16S rDNA, gyrase B subunit (gyrB) and HL hypothetical protein genes and single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) assessment was performed to genotype X. fastidiosa. Twelve SNPs were recorded over gyrB and six SNPs were found for HL gene. Less variations were detected on 16S rDNA gene. Only gyrB and HL provided sufficient information for dividing the Apulian X. fastidiosa olive strains into subspecies. Using HL nucleotide sequences was possible to separate X. fastidiosa into subspecies pauca and fastidiosa. Whereas, nucleotide variation present on gyrB gene allowed separation of X. fastidiosa subsp. pauca from the other subspecies multiplex and fastidiosa. The X. fastidiosa strain from Apulia region was included into the subspecies pauca based on three genes phylogenetic analyses.

  • This study reports two cases of patients with cold hypersensitivity on hands and feet who were typed as the Soyangin. Although the two patients were experiencing the same symptom of cold hypersensitivity on hands and feet, we diagnosed one as a Soyangin Kyel-Hyung syndrome(結胸證) and the other as a Mang-eum syndrome(亡陰證). So we prescribed them Medications for Soyangin. And we used D.I.T.I.(Digital Infrared Thermal Imaging) to prove the improvement for cold hypersensitivity on hands and feet. The temperature change of D.I.T.I. after treatment showed that the main symptom After treatment, their symptoms were improved and the patients' D.I.T.I results also showed their improvement.
