  • Embedded System이 고도화, 지능화되어감에 따라 이를 구동하는 Embedded Software의 역할과 크기 그리고 복잡도 역시 증가하고 있어 주어진 개발 기간동안 안정되고 품질이 보장된 Embedded Software 개발을 위해서는 기존의 방법보다 간편하고 유연하며 개발 프로세스를 지원하는 새로운 변경 관리 기법과 병렬 환경구성이 방법이 필요하게 되었다. 이에 따라, 기존의 방법을 추상화하여 사용과 관리가 용이하며 프로세스 지원이 가능한 Unified Change Management(UCM)을 Embedded Software인 Handset Platform 개발에 적용하여 병렬 개발 환경 구축과 Change Control and Problem Tracking 측면에서 기존의 방법과 비교하여 그 효용성을 살펴보고자 한다.

  • In recent years, the importance of the safety of medical device software has been emphasized because of the function and role of the software among components of the medical device, and because the operation of the medical device software is directly related to the life and safety of the user. To this end, various standards have been set up that provide activities that can effectively ensure the safety of medical devices and provide their respective requirements. The activities that standards provide to ensure the safety of medical device software are largely divided into the development life cycle of medical device software and the risk management process. These two activities should be concurrent with the development process, but there is a limitation that the risk management requirements to be performed at each stage of the medical device software development life cycle are not classified. As a result, developers must analyze the association of standards directly to develop risk management activities during the development of medical devices. Therefore, in this paper, we analyze the relationship between medical device software development life cycle and risk management process, and extract risk management requirement items. It enables efficient and systematic risk management during the development of medical device software by mapping the extracted risk management requirement items to the development life cycle based on the analyzed associations.

  • In this paper, we propose an efficient and procedural software patch management phases. Every year, organizations have tens of thousands of known vulnerabilities and spend tens of thousands of hours and millions of dollars or more patching them. Despite these efforts, research has shown that the time it takes for an exploit to appear for a given patched vulnerability is shortening. As various types of organizations such as companies and universities manage patches in inconsistent ways, problems such as security problems, system instability, information leakage and work delay due to patches occur. In this paper, we look at the basics required for software patch management and define the factors to be considered for patch management and the effective steps for patch management. Therefore, this study will be used as a method to efficiently and procedurally execute the organization's patch management policy in the process of updating and patching the software in the organization to a new version as a solution to software function modification and security vulnerability.

Skill Set based Competency Management to Strengthen the Capability of Software Development (소프트웨어 개발 역량 강화를 위한 Skill Set 기반의 직무 관리)

  • As industrial software domain is recognizing with one of areas producing high added values, almost software company is running around in securing skilled workers. However, the hiring of software engineers without the consideration of long-term business goals can be caused the lack of manpower again. Also if there is no strategic workforce management plan, it is impossible to gain high performance despite many software engineers have been employed. One of ways to empower the software development capability, this paper identifies the software job functions in detail and proposes how to define the competency profile for the job function. We also propose the career path management scheme using the profile. The proposed workforce management approach which is based on the competency profile, enables to keep the appropriate size of human resources, and to achieve the business performance of software organization.

  • One of the biggest challenges that the software industry is facing today is to create highly efficient applications without affecting the quality of healthcare system software. The demand for the provision of software with high quality protection has seen a rapid increase in the software business market. Moreover, it is worthless to offer extremely user-friendly software applications with no ideal security. Therefore a need to find optimal solutions and bridge the difference between accessibility and protection by offering accessible software services for defense has become an imminent prerequisite. Several research endeavours on usable security assessments have been performed to fill the gap between functionality and security. In this context, several Multi-Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) approaches have been implemented on different usability and security attributes so as to assess the usable-security of software systems. However, only a few specific studies are based on using the integrated approach of fuzzy Analytic Network Process (FANP) and Technique for Order of Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) technique for assessing the significant usable-security of hospital management software. Therefore, in this research study, the authors have employed an integrated methodology of fuzzy logic, ANP and TOPSIS to estimate the usable - security of Hospital Management System Software. For the intended objective, the study has taken into account 5 usable-security factors at first tier and 16 sub-factors at second tier with 6 hospital management system softwares as alternative solutions. To measure the weights of parameters and their relation with each other, Fuzzy ANP is implemented. Thereafter, Fuzzy TOPSIS methodology was employed and the rating of alternatives was calculated on the foundation of the proximity to the positive ideal solution.

The Resource Competencies affecting on the Software Firm Performance (소프트웨어 기업의 성과에 영향을 미치는 자원역량에 관한 연구)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this research is to identify the factors effecting on the software firm performance through RBV(Resource-Based View) perspective. Methods: The data have been analyzed via the multiple regressions between 3 performance indexes, which are revenue, operational income rate and employment, and 7 independent variables. Results: The results show that company age, capital intensity, training expense, marketing expense, and export revenue effect on the firm performance, whereas R&D expense and debt ratio do not so. Conclusion: This study can contribute the decision process of the investment priority of resources and competencies at the software firms to maximize the return on investment.

  • Software verification and validation(V&V) is a means to develop high-quality software and assure safety and reliability for software. Also, we can achieve the desired software quality through systematic V&V activities. The software to be applied safety critical system like nuclear power plants is required to setup the V&V methodology that comply with licensing requirements for nuclear power plants and should be performed V&V activities according to it. In this paper, we classified safety-critical, safety-related and non-safety for software according to safety function to be peformed and define V&V activities to be applied software grade. Also, we defined V&V activities, procedures and documentation for each phase of software development life cycle and showed techniques and management to perform V&V. Finally, we propose the V&V framework to be applied software development of SMART(System-integrated Modular Advanced ReacTor) MMIS (Man-Machine Interface System) and to comply with domestic licensing requirements.

  • The existent system of management for Measurement of Safety Cost are not effective because of the data loss and time loss and occurrence of errors through manual calculation. Therefore, tile development of the software for measurement of safety cost can solve the problem through the systematic calculation for safety cost and converting the related data to database, and also can build the strategy of the investment of Safety cost through analysing and comparing with the past data in the database. As a part of development of the software of Measurement of Safety Cost which is appropriate for the domestic environment, this study is developing a software based on Noguji method, which is one of the methods of Measurement of Safety Cost, and to appraise the efficiency of the management of Measurement of Safety Cost we will implement and improve the software in the case of the domestic enterprises.

  • Recently, the number of subscribers of the webtoons published by some major internet portal companies and others is increasing and their revenues are continually rising. Accordingly, a number of studies are being conducted for this phenomenon. For the uploaders off webtoons, their works are graded and added up for the promotion review but the criteria of such a promotion system usually fall short of readers' expectations. Although most of the subscribes of webtoons are drawn into subscription mainly by the recommendation of people around them, the responses from the new subscribers were often quite different from what the portal companies have anticipated, affecting the rank of the webtoon. Thus, a promotion management system which provides a reliable and clear method of assessment is proposed in this study including the revenue and copyright management scheme for the cartoonists.
