  • This study develops a contingency fit between client IT capability and vendor competence in IS outsourcing relationship by integrating both the contingency theory in organization and the relationship theory in IS outsourcing. By adopting a fit as a moderation, the relationship intensity of IS outsourcing is hypothesized to be influenced by the fit between client IT capability and vendor competence, thereby leading to the success of outsourcing. The testing data was obtained from 20 IS outsourcing projects from both clients and vendors in Korea. The research model proposed in this study was then tested using the structural equation model (SEM). As expected, the result shows that when there is a fit between client IT capability and vendor competence, higher level of relationship intensity and outsourcing success exhibits. The findings have significant impactions for further research and practice.

  • Nuclear project company establishes and maintains its QA system in the conformance with applicable Codes & Standards and contract provisions. Certifying agency(e.g., Korea Electric Association) or project owner appraises the effectiveness of the company QA system by surveying or auditing it. However, although the company fulfills the requirements of this survey/audit, the capability level of its nuclear QA system is not appraised numerically and developed in that KEPIC QAP-1, used by the company as a nuclear QA guidebook, does not describe an approach for managing the capability level of the QA system. This study evaluates the characteristics of QAP-1 from the viewpoint of SE-CMM(Capability Maturity Model for Systems Engineering) in order to suggest a possible solution.

  • Recently, increasing attention has been paid to building the software quality and software productivity due to ongoing software crisis. To overcome such problem, one of the many alternatives is to use the capability maturity model (CMM) suggested by the Software Engineering Institute(SEI), focusing on the improvement of software progress. This research is proposed the theoretical framework for CMM based on the previous studies, and review the status of software process on the software development organization. We then examine the impact of the software process capability on the organizational performance including financial measures and non-financial measures. Hypotheses on software process capability were tested 144 organizational units. The 62.5% of foreign companies are distribute to the second and third level, the Korean firms in this study are indicated the first level. Result indicate that maturity of software process may be served the key predictor of organizational performance, in particular the positive relationship between the software process and non-financial performance index such as customer service, IT Infrastructure, marketing, supplier and purchaser, production and operation.

  • The process capability indices are widely used to measure the capability of the process to manufacture items within the specified tolerance. Most evaluations on process capability indices focus on point estimates, which may result in unreliable assessments of process performance. The index $C_p$ has been widely used in various industries to assess process performance. In this paper, we propose new testing procedure on assessing $C_p$ index for practitioners to use in determining whether a given process is capable. The provided approach is easy to use and the decision making is more reliable. Whether a process is clearly normal or nonnormal, our bootstrap testing procedure could be applied effectively without the complexity of calculation. A numerical result based on the proposed approach is illustrated.

  • Process capability indexes are widely used in industries. Nevertheless, important statistical issues that deal with the appropriate use of process capability indexes have only appeared in the technical literature and are thus unknown to many users. In this paper we will first review various kinds of process capability indexes and then try to understand how much uncertainty is associated with them in relation to the assumption of normal distribution, the estimate of ${\sigma}$, the sampling error, the size of number of observations available and the presence of data correlation. Finally, we will propose a proper use of process capability indexes in an effort to assess a complex process.

  • Process capability indices are widely used in industries and quality assurance system. When designing the parameter on the multiple quality characteristics, there has been a study for optimization of problems, but there has been few former study on the possible conflicting phenomena in considertion of the correlations among the characteristics. To solve the issue on the optimal design for muliple quality characteristics, the study propose the expected loss function with cross-product terms among the characteristics and derived range of the coefficients of terms. Therefore, the analysis have to be required a multivariate statistical technique. This paper introduces to multivariate capability indices and then selects a multivariate process capability index incorporated both the process variation and the process deviation from target among these indices under the multivariate normal distribution. We propose a new multivariate capability index $MC_{pm}^{++}$ using quality loss function instead of the process variation and this index is compared with the proposed indices when quality characteristics are independent and dependent of each other,

  • Recently, many enterprises are interest in implementing Radio Frequency IDentification (RFID). However, they have some difficulty in implementing RFID because of incompleteness of RFID technology and uncertainty of Return on Investment (ROI). Even though usefulness of RFID are recognized, many enterprises are just interested in planning of RFID rather than implementation of RFID. Among successful factors of RFID implementation, Information Technology (IT) capability is the most important one. If enterprises have systematic IT capability, it would make positive attitude to implement RFID. In addition, it will provide trust about RFID and promote adoption of RFID implementation. This study, therefore, empirically analyzed the relationships of trust, attitude, IT capability, and intention to RFID adoption using Partial Least Squares (PLS) approach. The result show useful guidelines and practical implication in implementing RFID.

  • In this paper we study two vector-valued process capability indices $C_{p}$=($C_{px}$, $C_{py}$ ) and $C_{pk}$=( $C_{pkx}$, $C_{pky}$) considering process capability indices $C_{p}$ and $C_{pk}$. First, we derive two asymptotic distributions of plug-in estimators (equation omitted) and (equation omitted) under. some proper. conditions. • Learning organization has been an important issue in both management and marketing areas. Also learning capability is a key construct of innovation process in a firm. Especially, in marketing context, several researchers have studied market-based learning and its relation with performance. Previous studies have shown that market-based learning has a positive impact on overall firm performance. However, there has been inconsistency in the concept of market-based learning itself and its relationships with antecedents and consequences. Given this conflicting and inconsistent results of previous research, this study has two main objectives. First, this paper proposed a conceptual framework that marketbased learning has two types of processes and each types of market-based learning will generate different types of performance. Second, the mediating role of marketing capability in learning-performance link is proposed. The proposed conceptual framework shows that organizations which have marketbased learning for innovation management can enjoy ambidextrous firm performance on both side of effectiveness and efficiency via marketing capability. Moreover our research model proposes key drivers of market based organizational learning.
