Performance Enhancement through Row-Column Cross Scanning in Differential Histogram-based Reversible Watermarking (차이값 히스토그램 기반 가역 워터마킹의 행열 교차 스캐닝을 통한 성능 향상 기법)

  • Reversible watermarking inserts watermark into digital media in such a way that visual transparency is preserved, which enables the restoration of the original media from the watermarked one without any loss of media quality. It has various applications, where high capacity and high visual quality are major requirements. This paper presents a new effective multi-round embedding scheme for the differential histogram-based reversible watermarking that satisfies high capacity requirements of the application. The proposed technique exploits the row-column cross scanning to fully utilize the locality of images when multi-round embedding phase to the message inserted image. Through experiments using multiple kinds of test images, we prove that the presented algorithm provides 100% reversibility, effectiveness of multi-round embedding, and higher visual quality, while maintaining the induced-distortion low.

  • Lane extraction and lane departure warning algorithms using the image sensor attached in the vehicle are addressed. With the research about intelligent automobile, there have been many algorithms about lane recognition and lane departure warning system. However, since these algorithms require to detect 2 lanes, the high time complexity and the low recognition rate under various driving circumstances are critical problems. In this paper, we present a lane departure warning algorithm using single lane extraction and center point analysis that achieves the fast processing time and high detection rate. From the geometry between camera and objects, the region of interest (ROI) is determined and splitted into two parts. Hough transform detects the part of the lane. After the detected lane is restored to have a pre-determined size, lane departure is estimated by calculating the distance from the center point. On real driving environments, the presented algorithm is compared with previous algorithms. Experiment results support that the presented algorithm is fast and accurate.

Cervical Ganglioneuroma Associated with Neurofibromatosis Type 1 (제 1형 신경섬유종증에 동반된 경부 신경절신경종)

  • Purpose: Ganglioneuromas are well-differentiated tumors derived from neuroectodermal neural crest cells. Although these tumors can occur anywhere along the sympathetic chain from the base of the skull to the pelvic cavity, they usually develop in the posterior mediastinum and retroperitoneum these tumors are rarely found in the cervical region. Method: We report the case of a 16-year-old male patient with neurofibromatosis type 1 who was admitted because of a palpable mass centrally located on the left side of the neck. A preoperative contrast-enhanced neck computed tomography image showed a low-density homogeneous mass on the parapharyngeal space along with marked displacement of the trachea and carotid vessels. Round and soft masses were also detected on both axillae. Results: The patient subsequently underwent complete excision of the neck mass via the transcervical approach. The mass was smooth and well encapsulated between the sternocleidomastoid muscle and the trachea. Further, the mass appeared to arise from the cervical sympathetic chain, which was preserved during surgery. Both the axillary masses were also excised. The histopathological findings were ganglioneuroma for the neck mass and neurofibroma for both the axillary masses. Conclusion: Cervical ganglioneuromas are rare tumors that present as enlarging parapharyngeal cervical masses in the oropharynx or neck. To our knowledge, a case of cervical ganglioneuroma associated with neurofibromatosis type 1 has never been reported. In patients with neurofibromatosis, multiple tumors may develop, and therefore periodic clinical and radiological follow-up is recommended. Further, repeated imaging analysis should be performed if the presence of another tumor is suspected.

  • 개수로에서 혹은 수리구조물 주변에서의 흐름 및 난류 특성을 파악하기 위해서는 연직유속분포 및 수심별 평면유속분포의 측정이 필요하다. 유속분포를 측정하기 위한 방법은 음파 도플러 유속계(ADV:Acoustic Doppler Velocimetry)를 사용하는 방법과 PIV 기법을 이용하는 방법이 있다. 일반적으로 ADV는 한 지점의 유속을 시간변화에 따라 연속적으로 측정할 수 있어 난류특성의 정량적인 해석에 장점이 있으나 동시간에 여러 지점을 측정할 수 없기 때문에 난류의 공간적인 문제를 해석함에 있어서 한계가 있다. 그러나, 입자영상유속계(PIV:Particle Image Velocity)는 측정하고자 하는 단면에서 연직 횡단면의 유속분포 및 수심별 평면 유속분포 흐름장 측정이 가능하여 난류흐름의 공간적인 문제를 해석하는데 효과적일 뿐만 아니라 영상간의 시간간격을 짧게 하고, 촬영시간을 충분히 길게 한다면 개수로 내 난류특성 분석도 가능하다. 이에 본 연구의 목적은 PIV 기법을 이용하여 매끄러운 하상의 개수로에서 연직유속분포를 측정하고 그 특성을 정량적으로 분석하고자 한다. 본 연구에서는 첫째, PIV 기법을 이용하여 측정한 연직유속분포와 3차원 전자식 유속계를 이용하여 측정한 연직유속분포를 비교 분석하였다. 둘째, 후류법칙에 의해 계산된 연직유속분포와 PIV 기법을 이용하여 측정한 연직유속분포의 비교를 위해 각각의 무차원 유속분포(지점 유속/지점 마찰속도)를 계산하고 비교하였다. 마지막으로 각 흐름 조건에 따라 수심의 변화를 주어 연직유속분포를 PIV 기법으로 측정한 후 개수로의 수심변화에 따른 연직유속의 특성을 분석하였다. 분석 결과, PIV 기법을 이용하여 측정한 연직유속 성분에 비해 3차원 전자식 유속계로 측정한 연직유속 성분이 작게 나타났고 바닥에서부터 0.2h 지점까지는 무차원 유속분포(지점 유속/지점 마찰속도)가 후류법칙과 잘 맞는 경향을 보였으나 0.2h 지점부터 수표면까지는 유속이 감소하는 현상이 나타났다.

  • Lap joint friction stir welding(LFSW) is an relatively new solid state joining process. A6061-T6 aluminium alloy has gathered wide acceptance in the fabrication of light weight structures requiring a high strength to weight ratio and good corrosion resistance. Test methods used in this paper, lock-in thermography, a phase difference between the defect area and the healthy area indicates the qualitative location and size of the defect. In this paper, the defects detected from the thermal image of mechanical properties for weld were evaluated and compared by the lock-in infrared thermography technique.

  • The purpose of the study was to examine make-up expression elements of horror characters as an evil spirit, a vampire, a zombie, a monster and a psycho murderer through make-up, focused on horror movies of the United States after1960s. First, an evil spirit was expressed that the pupil grew dim without a focus and the skin was torn by going bad and rot completely. Also, it was expressed that its teeth was changed to pointed canine teeth as a wild beast and its pale and bloodless face showed blood vessels clearly. To express its bloodless and pale skin, air brush was swept into the skin over several times. Its canine tooth was made acryl powder into its shape and was harden to make its shape smooth. Also, it was colored to show people like the real thing. Second, a vampire was expressed by make-up elements as long nails, a sharp canine tooth, a pale skin with a blood vessel and dead eyes. Its rough skin and long nails were manufactured with latex foam, which was colored like the skin. Third, a monster image as a werewolf was expressed by make-up elements as fur, sharp teeth, changed nails and toenails, a rough skin and a face changed to a wolf. Rubber mask and rubber body suit were manufactured as a make-up of special character and so all its body was changed. Fourth, a psycho murderer and body-deformed man were expressed by make-up elements as a distorted mask, swelled-up and deformed skull and face form, terribly deformed body, discolored and hang down skin and teeth with an indeterminate form. Its body and face were manufactured by the foam latex technology according to make-up design as a make-up of special character.

CC-NUMA 시스템을 위한 진단 소프트웨어 개발

  • This paper introduces an implementation of the diagnosis software for CC-NUMA systems. The CC-NUMA architecture is composed of two or more SMP nodes installed with the specialized hardware to provide cache-coherent operation and the high-speed interconnection network to connect each node, it enables both the high performance and the high scalability. While the CC-NUMA system provides the single system image in the operating system aspect, it should be considered the multiple systems by the diagnostic software. Thus it is difficult to diagnose and manage CC-NUMA system using commercial administration software due to characteristics of the complicated architecture. The remote diagnosis and management are also required with a view to reduce Total Cost of Ownership. In this paper, we design diagnostic software to manage CC-NUMA server system, and propose its mechanism in client-server manner to support remote administration. Additionally, we use the Java-based user interface to enlarge an administrator's accessibility.

  • 최근 이상기후로 집중호우와 강우패턴이 변화하고 있다. 하지만 변화하는 환경을 고려하지 않은 내배수시설 설계로 내수 침수 피해가 증가하여 인명 및 재산 피해가 급증하고 있다. 이에 도시지역의 내수침수에 대한 대책으로 재내지의 초과 우수를 하천으로 강제 배수시키기 위한 빗물펌프장의 역할이 점점 중요해지고 있다. 도심지역의 집중호우에 대응하기 위해서는 빗물펌프장의 목표 배수량을 실제 배수할 수 있는지에 대한 여부가 도시지역의 내수침수를 효율적으로 방어하는데 있어 중요한 요소가 될 것이다. 하지만 현재 빗물펌프장의 설계 시 펌프 흡입부 내 흐름특성을 고려하지 못하고 있어 펌프의 효율에 대한 불확실성이 큰 것이 사실이다. 따라서 펌프 가동 시 흡입부 주변의 흐름특성에 대한 연구가 필요하다. 기존 펌프 흡입부의 실험적 연구에서는 색소를 이용한 vortex의 생성 위치 및 경향을 정성적으로 파악하거나 ADV등의 유속계를 이용하여 흡입부 주변의 흐름특성을 지점별로 분석하는 연구들이 수행되었다. 하지만 빗물펌프장의 펌프 흡입부 주변의 흐름은 펌프 가동에 따라 매우 복잡한 와류가 발생하기 때문에 이를 방지하기 위해서는 정량적인 유속장 분석이 필요하다. 이에 본 연구에서는 비접촉식 유속 측정이 가능하고 유속장 측정이 가능하다는 장점을 갖고 있는 입자영상유속계(PIV: Particle Image Velocimetry)를 이용하여 펌프 흡입부 주변의 흐름특성을 분석하였다. 펌프 흡입부의 흐름특성을 분석한 결과 흡입관 내 유속분포의 편중 현상에 접근유속의 영향이 큰 것으로 나타났다. 또한 흡입유속에 비해 접근유속이 빠른 경우 흡입관 내 유속분포는 상류측에서 횡방향 와류가 발생하여 흡입에 방해가 되는 것을 확인하였고, 하류측으로는 흡입 방향으로 유속이 발생하는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 향후 펌프 흡입관내 상류측부분의 와류를 감소시키기 위한 연구가 필요할 것으로 판단된다.

A Study on the Interactive Architecture in Nature Environment

  • The context of innovation in which we evolve today, subtracts us in a spacial reality and virtuality (digital) that aimed less and less to interact with natural processes which could converge to new possible relationships in the world. We constantly live in presence of fluctuations and imperceptible natural energies (wind, solar radiation, etc.) defined by flows, their own physicality, which remains without being virtual, elusive. This study first outlines how these energies already exploited within the framework of production, could be thought as interactive of our habitat's space dimension, as a prolongation of a physical and material environment built by men and for men, giving rise to new social, cultural dynamics, and making natural complexity of our space vivid, comprehensible with new visual and physical clues. In recent days, where lifestyles are changing, architecture no longer needs to limit its scope of creation to only built structures. Based on a deeper understanding of human and through new potential advanced technologies (kinetic system, etc), it is time to fundamentally diagnose what environments or devices contribute to our lives. Architecture becomes ${\ll}interface{\gg}$, step up its fundamental role, and newly defines the sturdy image and tectonics of existing environment, establishing a stance to search for a new typology. In the end, building will show two simultaneous and distinctive connections related to its physical existence: reality in its function and irreductibility, in its ability to forge new dynamic connections with its environment, hybridizing the spatial dimension to a new form of physicality, adaptive and incessantly flexible in the dimension time, becoming a vessel for ever changing contemporary lifestyles.

  • The $360^{\circ}$ video has a lot of image information and usefulness; however, the position of the audio source judged by hearing is different from the position on the screen. Therefore, human feels tired, the immersion decrease and user cant watch the video for Moreer time. In this paper, the concordance rate of the video and the audio localization is defined. The rate is expressed in a percentage. It means how much the system makes the sound localization real according to the position of the source on the screen. With this rate, the audio localization performance of immersive audio producing and playing system can be evaluated. It will be helpful for developers to make the higher performance system and expected to contribute to make makinguality system with reality.
