This paper discusses an application of mathematical programming techniques in the paper industry in determining optimal parent roll widths. Parent rolls are made from the reels produced at wide paper machines by slitting them to more manageable widths. The problem is finding a set of the slitting patterns that will minimize the trim loss involved in the sheeting operation. Two programming models, one linear and one mixed integer linear, are presented in this paper. Also presented are the computational experience, the model sensitivity, and the comparison of the optimal solutions with the simulated operational data.

What I would like to expect about this mater is that Korea would develop unique techniques of the waste water which are most suitable to social and other relevant conditions of that country, not entirely following models of sewerage construction of U.S.A. or European countries or Japan. Some cements will be made in the followings: (1) The investigation for the diffusion of seperated simple public sewerag, not the large scale sewerage treatment plant. (2) The plan for non-mixed treatment of lining waste water and industrial waste water. (3) Suggestion for "a man of ability" at the university education to cultivate a technologist of facilities and the elemental watchman at the sewerage maintenance.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of food habits on blood components level(blood glucose, uric acid, hemoglobin, some lipids levels) and health condition in Taejon. The study was conducted with 250 subjects (male 130, female120) who visited in a general hospital from May to June in 1997. Questionaires were used for food habits. The data were analyzed by using $x^2$-test, t-test, ANOVA and multiple range test. Results were summerized s follow : mean of Broca Index were 110.0 $\pm$13.7% in male, 110.6$\pm$16.6% in female. Mean values of systolic blood pressure and diastolic blood pressure were 130.9$\pm$17.6mmHg, 76.2$\pm$12.6mmHg, respectively. The systolic blood pressure was significantly higher in man than woman, Mean serum total cholesterol, LDL-cholesterol, and HDL-cholesterol and triglyceride levels were 202.8$\pm$40.2, 121.1$\pm$35.5, 50.3$\pm$12.9, 157.1$\pm$112.6mg/dl, respectively. Triglyceride level was significantly higher in man than woman. But HDL-cholesterol was significantly lower in man than woman. And also, the value of LPH and AI were higher in man. So Man has more risk of atherogenesis than woman. Mean values of blood sugar, uric acid and hemoglobin was 102.7$\pm$1.36mg/dl and 14.1$\pm$1.56g/dl were higher in man than woman except blood sugar. Food habit of woman were better than it of man. The levels of education and income did not affect to food habit score. The most problem of habits were intake of salty food and lack of exercise. The intake of nutrients were higher as food habit score was higher. Intakes of energy, Ca, vitamin A and vitamin $B^1$ were lower than RDA's of nutrients in bad food habit group. This result did not show that blood components level and health condition were significantly different by food habits. But Broca Index and triglyceride levels were higher in bad food habit group than other groups, but not statistically significant. By this result, it is more needed food habit education to man and young people. The education of food habits will include the real methods of weight control, low intake of salt and exercise to bad food habit group.

Followed the System Design Review (PDR) of a mobile SLR (Satellite Laser Ranging) system, a successful preliminary design review was finished in 2009. With the completion of this mobile SLR system, KASI (Korea Astronomy and Space Science Institute) can perform a series of test observation and calibration/validation procedures. After the operation performance of the whole system reaches the nominal design, a regular scheduled observation will be executed. However, the project has been disturbed by the frequent change of working staff, budget profile, and plan as well as the inexperienced man power. In this study, the contents and the issues of PDR are briefly reviewed and several items of SLR system are suggested. This mobile SLR system will push Korea's Space Geodetic study further and will make us jump to another step to the Space Science in Korea.

In this paper, we consider a cooperation between firms and universities based on KOITA's and KIET's research results which is a research organ about the obstacle factors of the cooperation between firms and universities. Also, we consider the motivation of a cooperation with a technology innovation based on STEPI's research results. From the basis on the results, we will suggest a new cooperation strategy between firms and universities. We will propose a new development cooperation model(strategy) which is included the infra(hardware), that is implemented for the company's support, and the networking between cooperation components and expert management man-power.

In the paper architecture of load flow under graphic interface we mentioned that the define of graphic interface and the way of system modeling. In the view point of engineering, domain define is the step of process which is seek out the general solution. This is a base of program's structure. When making a relationship inner component, relevance and restriction are affected by data type and etc. In this process logical data is realized as a symbol. And system configuration decide that main function and extension by the analysis user's demand and requirements. Specially engineering analysis software has accuracy also through the numerical method. To represent this wee need more powerful graphical component. This helps user's accessibility. We can combine 10, numerical library and graphical component as a system element by domain definition. In this paper we will materialize as a step of implementation and decide a direction of programming. In conclusion we will see the analysis software's necessary function to make a better.

To acquire an appointed speaker's clear voice signal from inspect-camera, picture-conference or hands free microphone eliminating interference noises needs to be preceded speaker's position automatically. Presumption of sound source position's basic algorithm is about measuring TDOA(Time Difference Of Arrival) from reaching same signals between two microphones. This main project uses ADF(Adaptive Delay Filter) [4] and CPS(Cross Power Spectrum) [5] which are one of the most important analysis of TDOA. From these analysis this project proposes presumption of real time sound source position and improved model NI-ADF which makes possible to presume both directions of sound source position. NI-ADF noticed that if auditory sense of humankind reaches above to some specified level in specified frequency, it will accept sound through activated nerve. NI-ADF also proposes practicable algorithm, the presumption of real time sound source position including both directions, that when microphone loads to some specified system, it will use sounds level difference from external system related to sounds of diffraction phenomenon. In accordance with the project, when existing both direction adaptation filter's algorithm measures sound source, it increases more than twice number by measuring one way. Preserving this weak point, this project proposes improved algorithm to presume real time in both directions.

To solve the interaction of incident monochromatic waves with a bottom-fixed vertical circular cylinder, a numerical analysis by boundary element method is developed using three-dimensional linear potential theory. A numerical analysis by boundary element method is based on Green's theorem and introduce to an integral equation for the fluid velocity potential around the vertical circular cylinder. These numerical results are compared with those of ManCamy and Fuchs(1954) and Williams and Mansour(2002), and it has shown good relationship with their results. This numerical analysis developed by boundary element method will be applied for various offshore structures to be constructed in coastal zones in the future.

Secondly, In order to cultivate the prominent man power for the marine industry, the government shall be specialized for the agency of marine education system, expand the educational installation, reforms the content of curriculum, to be adjust the global education system, also, enlarge the scholarship for the student, exemption tuition fees, installed the dormitory for the student, professors and teachers engaging in this parts have to lead the students with the pride and confidence and must provided the chance of job after he had completed for their on boarding life. Thirdly, for the secure responsible officer, the authorities has a schedules for enlarging the chance of studying and training also have to accumulate the practical experience and should enforce the retraining to the prof's and teachers also improve the leaders quality, on the other hand. The position of prof's and teachers will be elevated with the gaining of education philosophy and special treatment by the authorities. Fourth, to receive the positively marine industry educational system. First of all, have to provide the cooperation of industries and academy and they satisfy their job and change the their way of thinking and should notify the importance of government strategical industry by the mass-media system. Against the new marine era, we must participate the marine industry positively, have to elevate the culture of mankind and also, have provide the basement of prominent man-power for the marine industry in future.

The purpose of this study is to examine losely how the Rococo style, which reached its summit in the history of French furniture, was realized in its social background and mode of life. Based ion this examination , this study will explore desirable directions for developing our domestic furniture design. For this purpose , existing literature will be referred to and analyzed to arrange into a new system. Rococo furniture style was the product of joyous and aristocratic living . This was based upon the historical development of French interior design, established by the national mode of Versailles Palace. Hereafter, royal style came into fashion paralleled with the luxuries of the court. Pursuit of new , interesting or beyond-expectation fashions encouraged the creation of new and imaginative forms and designs . The elegnant taste of customers, the new techniques of furniture manufacturing , and the unique sales strategies of merchants were social phenomena which contributed to the development of Rococo furniture. Furthermore , Louis XV`s private and personal life led to society`s pursut of comfortable and convenient living . Under these circumstances, small and cozy rooms for various uses came into the interior. Accordingly, the scales of furniture became smaller and any types of furniture with their own uses and feminine nature were manufactured , especially by the bnistes. Rococo furniture with fmine beanty and refined line, beatifil proportion and elegant sculpture, and solidity and clarity in general , is not only furniture for the use of man, but also furniture in harmony with man. As we see the stages of development and the characteristics of Rococo furniture, development of Korean furniture is a common task which can be accomplished through the participation of the designer, manufacturer, seller and consumer. Based on this co-operation , the furniture industry must make an improvement in furmture design, lestablish a permanent store in which new works are displayed. publicize activities and sales, promote exhibitions and seminars, and encourage technical development through the government and other interested organizations.
