Recent internet development is helping malware researchers to generate malicious code variants through automated tools. Due to this reason, the number of malicious variants is increasing day by day. Consequently, the performance improvement in malware analysis is the critical requirement to stop the rapid expansion of malware. The existing research proved that the similarities among malware variants could be used for detection and family classification. In this paper, a Cross-Platform Malware Variant Classification System (CP-MVCS) proposed that converted malware binary into a grayscale image. Further, malicious features extracted from the grayscale image through Combined SIFT-GIST Malware (CSGM) description. Later, these features used to identify the relevant family of malware variant. CP-MVCS reduced computational time and improved classification accuracy by using CSGM feature description along machine learning classification. The experiment performed on four publically available datasets of Windows OS and Android OS. The experimental results showed that the computation time and malware classification accuracy of CP-MVCS was higher than traditional methods. The evaluation also showed that CP-MVCS was not only differentiated families of malware variants but also identified both malware and benign samples in mix fashion efficiently.

According to Symantec's 2018 internet security threat report, The number of new mobile malware variants increased by 54 percent in 2017, as compared to 2016. And last year, there were an average of 24,000 malicious mobile applications blocked each day. Existing signature-based technologies of malware detection have limitations. So, malware detection technique through machine learning is being researched to detect malware variant. However, even in the case of applying machine learning, if the proper features of the malware are not properly selected, the machine learning cannot be shown correctly. We are focusing on feature selection method to find the features of malware variant in this research.

Recently, several environment damage caused by malicious or suspicious code is increasing. We study comprehensive response system actively for malware detection. Suspicious code is installed on your PC without your consent, users are unaware of the damage. Also, there are need to technology for realtime processing of Big Data. We must develope advanced technology for malware detection. We must analyze the static, dynamic of executable file for fundamentally malware detection in recently and verified by a reputation for verification. It is need to judgment of similarity for realtime response with big data. In this paper, we proposed realtime detection and verification technology using multiple filter. Our malware study suggests a new direction of realtime malware detection.
In malware accident investigation, the most important thing is detection of malicious code. Signature based anti-virus softwares have been used in most of the accident. Malware can easily avoid signature based detection by using packing or encryption method. Because of this, packed file detection is also important. Detection methods can be divided into signature based detection and entropy based detection. Signature based detection can not detect new packing. And entropy based detection has a problem with false positive. We provides detection method using entropy statistics of entry point section and 'write' properties of essential characteristic of packed file. And then, we show packing detection tool and evaluate its performance.

Malware detection has become increasingly critical with the proliferation of end devices. To improve detection rates and efficiency, the research focus in malware detection has shifted towards leveraging machine learning and deep learning approaches. This shift is particularly relevant in the context of the widespread adoption of end devices, including smartphones, Internet of Things devices, and personal computers. Machine learning techniques are employed to train models on extensive datasets and evaluate various features, while deep learning algorithms have been extensively utilized to achieve these objectives. In this research, we introduce TabNet, a novel architecture designed for deep learning with tabular data, specifically tailored for enhancing malware detection techniques. Furthermore, the Synthetic Minority Over-Sampling Technique is utilized in this work to counteract the challenges posed by imbalanced datasets in machine learning. SMOTE efficiently balances class distributions, thereby improving model performance and classification accuracy. Our study demonstrates that SMOTE can effectively neutralize class imbalance bias, resulting in more dependable and precise machine learning models.

The DDoS attacks and the APT attacks occurred by the zombie computers simultaneously attack target systems at a fixed time, caused social confusion. These attacks require many zombie computers running attacker's commands, and unknown malware that can bypass detecion of the anti-virus products is being executed in those computers. A that time, many methods have been proposed for the detection of unknown malware against the anti-virus products that are detected using the signature. This paper proposes a method of unknown malware detection using digital forensic techniques and describes the results of experiments carried out on various samples of malware and normal files.

Existing Android malware detection approaches mostly have concentrated on superficial features such as requested or used permissions, which can't reflect the essential differences between benign apps and malware. In this paper, we propose a quantitative calculation model of application risks based on the key observation that the essential differences between benign apps and malware actually lie in the way how permissions are used, or rather the way how their corresponding permission methods are used. Specifically, we employ a fine-grained analysis on Android application risks. We firstly classify application risks into five specific categories and then introduce comprehensive risk, which is computed based on the former five, to describe the overall risk of an application. Given that users' risk preference and risk-bearing ability are naturally fuzzy, we design and implement a fuzzy logic system to calculate the comprehensive risk. On the basis of the quantitative calculation model, we propose a risk classification based approach for Android malware detection. The experiments show that our approach can achieve high accuracy with a low false positive rate using the RandomForest algorithm.

Malware is generally recognized as a computer program that penetrates another computer system and causes malicious behavior intended by the developer. In cyberspace, it is also used as a cyber weapon to attack adversary. The most important factor that a malware must have as a cyber weapon is that it must achieve its intended purpose before being detected by the other's detection system. It requires a lot of time and expertise to create a single malware to avoid the other's detection system. We propose the framework that automatically generates variant malware when a binary code type malware is input using the DCM technique. In this framework, the sample malware was automatically converted into variant malware, and it was confirmed that this variant malware was not detected in the signature-based malware detection system.
Although the internet has gained many conveniences and benefits, it is causing economic and social damage to users due to intelligent malware. Most of the signature-based anti-virus programs are used to detect and defend this, but it is insufficient to prevent malware variants becoming more intelligent. Therefore, we proposes a model that detects and defends the intelligent malware that is pouring out in the paper. The proposed model learns by imaging the characteristics of malware based on deeplearning, and detects newly detected malware variants using the learned model. It was shown that the proposed model detects not only the existing malware but also most of the variants that transform the existing malware.
At present, the existing virus recognition systems usually use signature approach to detect malicious executable files, but these methods often fail to detect new and invisible malware. At the same time, some methods try to use more general features to detect malware, and achieve some success. Moreover, machine learning-based approaches are applied to detect malware, which depend on features extracted from malicious codes. However, the different distribution of features oftraining and testing datasets also impacts the effectiveness of the detection models. And the generation oflabeled datasets need to spend a significant amount time, which degrades the performance of the learning method. In this paper, we use transfer learning to detect new and previously unseen malware. We first extract the features of Portable Executable (PE) files, then combine transfer learning training model with KNN approachto detect the new and unseen malware. We also evaluate the detection performance of a classifier in terms of precision, recall, F1, and so on. The experimental results demonstrate that proposed method with high detection rates andcan be anticipated to carry out as well in the real-world environment.
