Cloud computing has evolved significantly, intending to provide users with fast, dependable, and low-cost services. With its development, malicious users have become increasingly capable of attacking both its internal and external security. To ensure the security of cloud services, encryption, authorization, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems have been employed. However, these single monitoring agents, are complex, time-consuming, and they do not detect ransomware and zero-day vulnerabilities on their own. An innovative Record and Replay-based hybrid Honeynet (R2NET) system has been developed to address this issue. Combining honeynet with Record and Replay (RR) technology, the system allows fine-grained analysis by delaying time-consuming analysis to the replay step. In addition, a machine learning algorithm is utilized to cluster the logs of attackers and store them in a database. So, the accessing time for analyzing the attack may be reduced which in turn increases the efficiency of the proposed framework. The R2NET framework is compared with existing methods such as EEHH net, HoneyDoc, Honeynet system, and AHDS. The proposed system achieves 7.60%, 9.78%%, 18.47%, and 31.52% more accuracy than EEHH net, HoneyDoc, Honeynet system, and AHDS methods.

As the increase of transaction using mobile banking continues, threat to the mobile financial security is also increasing. Mobile banking service performs the financial transaction using the dedicate application which is made by financial corporation. It provides the same services as the internet banking service. Personal information such as credit card number, which is stored in the mobile banking application can be used to the additional attack caused by a malicious attack or the loss of the mobile devices. Therefore, in this paper, to cope with the mobile financial accident caused by personal information exposure, we suggest outlier detection method which can judge whether the transaction is conducted by the appropriate user or not. This detection method utilizes the user's input patterns and transaction patterns when a user uses the banking service on the mobile devices. User's input and transaction pattern data involves the information which can be used to discern a certain user. Thus, if these data are utilized appropriately, they can be the information to distinguish abnormal transaction from the transaction done by the appropriate user. In this paper, we collect the data of user's input patterns on a smart phone for the experiment. And we use the experiment data which domestic financial corporation uses to detect outlier as the data of transaction pattern. We verify that our proposal can detect the abnormal transaction efficiently, as a result of detection experiment based on the collected input and transaction pattern data.
Intrusion detection is a process that identifies the attacks and responds to the malicious intrusion actions for the protection of the computer and the network resources. Due to the fast development of the Internet, the types of intrusions become more complex recently and need immediate and correct responses because the frequent occurrences of a new intrusion type rise rapidly. Therefore, to solve these problems of the intrusion detection systems, we propose a sequential pattern miner for analysis of the alert data in order to support intelligent and automatic detection of the intrusion. Sequential pattern mining is one of the methods to find the patterns among the extracted items that are frequent in the fixed sequences. We apply the prefixSpan algorithm to find out the alert sequences. This method can be used to predict the actions of the sequential patterns and to create the rules of the intrusions. In this paper, we propose an extended prefixSpan algorithm which is designed to consider the specific characteristics of the alert data. The extended sequential pattern miner will be used as a part of alert data analyzer of intrusion detection systems. By using the created rules from the sequential pattern miner, the HA(high-level alert analyzer) of PEP(policy enforcement point), usually called IDS, performs the prediction of the sequence behaviors and changing patterns that were not visibly checked.

Many malicious programs have been compressed or encrypted using various commercial packers to prevent reverse engineering, So malicious code analysts must decompress or decrypt them first. The OEP (Original Entry Point) is the address of the first instruction executed after returning the encrypted or compressed executable file back to the original binary state. Several unpackers, including PinDemonium, execute the packed file and keep tracks of the addresses until the OEP appears and find the OEP among the addresses. However, instead of finding exact one OEP, unpackers provide a relatively large set of OEP candidates and sometimes OEP is missing among candidates. In other words, existing unpackers have difficulty in finding the correct OEP. We have developed new tool which provides fewer OEP candidate sets by adding two methods based on the property of the OEP. In this paper, we propose two methods to provide fewer OEP candidate sets by using the property that the function call sequence and parameters are same between packed program and original program. First way is based on a function call. Programs written in the C/C++ language are compiled to translate languages into binary code. Compiler-specific system functions are added to the compiled program. After examining these functions, we have added a method that we suggest to PinDemonium to detect the unpacking work by matching the patterns of system functions that are called in packed programs and unpacked programs. Second way is based on parameters. The parameters include not only the user-entered inputs, but also the system inputs. We have added a method that we suggest to PinDemonium to find the OEP using the system parameters of a particular function in stack memory. OEP detection experiments were performed on sample programs packed by 16 commercial packers. We can reduce the OEP candidate by more than 40% on average compared to PinDemonium except 2 commercial packers which are can not be executed due to the anti-debugging technique.

There are many researches on fast exponentiation algorithm which is used to implement a public key cryptosystem such as RSA. On the other hand, the malicious attacker has tried various side-channel attacks to extract the secret key. In these attacks, an attacker uses the power consumption or electromagnetic radiation of cryptographic devices which is measured during computation of exponentiation algorithm. In this paper, we propose a novel simple power analysis attack on m-ary exponentiation implementation. The core idea of our attack on m-ary exponentiation with pre-computation process is that an attacker controls the input message to identify the power consumption patterns which are related with secret key. Furthermore, we implement the m-ary exponentiation on evaluation board and apply our simple power analysis attack to it. As a result, we verify that the secret key can be revealed in experimental environment.

If the industrial control system is infected by malicious worm such as Stuxnet, national disaster could be caused inevitably. Therefore, most of the industrial control system defence is focused on intrusion detection in network to protect against these threats. Conventional method is effective to monitor network traffic and detect anomalous patterns, but normal traffic pattern attacks using MITM technique are difficult to be detected. This study analyzes the PROFINET/DCP protocol and weaknesses with the data collected in real industrial control system. And add the authentication data field to secure the protocol, find out the applicability. Improved protocol may prevent the national disaster and defend against MITM attacks.
With the increasing importance of network protection from cyber threats, it is requested to develop a multi-gigabit rate pattern matching method for protecting against malicious attacks in high-speed network. This paper devises a high-speed pattern matching algorithm with TCAM by using an m-byte jumping window pattern matching scheme. The proposed algorithm significantly reduces the number of TCAM lookups per payload by m times with the marginally enlarged TCAM size which can be implemented by cascading multiple TCAMs. Due to the reduced number of TCAM lookups, we can easily achieve multi-gigabit rate for scanning the packet payload. It is shown by simulation that for the Snort nile with 2,247 patterns, our proposed algorithm supports more than 10 Gbps rate with a 9Mbit TCAM.

In this work, we study the problem of privacy-preservation data publishing in moving objects databases. In particular, the trajectory of a mobile user in a plane is no longer a polyline in a two-dimensional space, instead it is a two-dimensional surface of fixed width $2A_{min}$, where $A_{min}$ defines the semi-diameter of the minimum spatial circular extent that must replace the real location of the mobile user on the XY-plane, in the anonymized (kNN) request. The desired anonymity is not achieved and the entire system becomes vulnerable to attackers, since a malicious attacker can observe that during the time, many of the neighbors' ids change, except for a small number of users. Thus, we reinforce the privacy model by clustering the mobile users according to their motion patterns in (u, ${\theta}$) plane, where u and ${\theta}$ define the velocity measure and the motion direction (angle) respectively. In this case, the anonymized (kNN) request looks up neighbors, who belong to the same cluster with the mobile requester in (u, ${\theta}$) space: Thus, we know that the trajectory of the k-anonymous mobile user is within this surface, but we do not know exactly where. We transform the surface's boundary poly-lines to dual points and we focus on the information distortion introduced by this space translation. We develop a set of efficient spatiotemporal access methods and we experimentally measure the impact of information distortion by comparing the performance results of the same spatiotemporal range queries executed on the original database and on the anonymized one.
Network intrusion detection system (NIDS) monitors all incoming packets in the network and detects packets that are malicious to internal system. The NIDS should also have ability to update detection rules because new attack patterns are unpredictable. Incorporating FPGAs into the NIDS is one of the best solutions that can provide both high performance and high flexibility comparing with other approaches such as software solutions. In this paper we propose and design a novel approach, prefix sharing parallel pattern matcher, that can not only minimize additional resources but also maximize the processing performance. Experimental results showed that the throughput for 16-bit input is twice larger than for 8-bit input but the used LEs/Char in FPGA increases only 1.07 times.

This paper studied the detection technique using file DNA-based behavior pattern analysis in order to minimize damage to user system by malicious programs before signature or security patch is released. The file DNA-based detection technique was applied to defend against zero day attack and to minimize false detection, by remedying weaknesses of the conventional network-based packet detection technique and process-based detection technique. For the file DNA-based detection technique, abnormal behaviors of malware were splitted into network-related behaviors and process-related behaviors. This technique was employed to check and block crucial behaviors of process and network behaviors operating in user system, according to the fixed conditions, to analyze the similarity of behavior patterns of malware, based on the file DNA which process behaviors and network behaviors are mixed, and to deal with it rapidly through hazard warning and cut-off.
