By reading the main character, Rene Gallimard, in M. Butterfly as a spatial metaphor of America, this article examines how homogeneous American national identity of heterosexuality and white masculinity has been reinforced since the cold war and has constituted a crisis of hegemony with the decline of imperialism and how its pathological symptom is shown through the melancholic suicide of Gallimard. This article also argues how the feminine attributes implied in race, gender and sexuality in M. Butterfly are designated and allegorized as an impure, contaminated and ahistorical marker of national integrity in pthe social and material status of the heterosexual American white male. To develop my argument, I read M. Butterfly from a psychoanalytic point of view. Therefore I depend on Freud, Lacan, and Bhabha's psychoanalysis as the theoretical basis. In this paper, I also argue that the homogenized and fixed national identity is splitted and collapsed from within as shown in the Gallimard's melancholy and in the process of splitting the "Third Space" of hybrid subjects for the marginal and the emergent like Song Liling, a homosexual Asian man, can be built "from a space in-between." Therefore Hwang calls into questions conventions of fixed, essentialist identities through the shifting gender identities between Song and Gallimard in M. Butterfly and how identities in the plural are constructed variously in throughly historicized, politicized situations, and these constructions can be complicated by relations of power.

This study is intended to understand an implication system and significance in the current community which a body image symbolizes by correlating it with fashion that is on the rise as a principal issue in various fields. For this study, the symbolism of the body image was contemplated in terms of philosophy and art, and then on the basis of it, the symbolism of the body image shown in modern fashion design was analyzed through fashion works. The research results are as follows, 1. The manifestation of sex can be taken as the symbolism of the body image which is expressed in modern fashion design. Recently sexual chaos and vagueness such as homosexuality and bisexuality are expressed through a dress and its ornaments. Though displaying sexual characteristics of male and female as they are exposing a sign or a diagram, decorating a part of body or representing sex in garments, uncertain sex identity in modern society is manifested in dress and its ornaments. It is to deny absoluteness regarding sex and emphasize diversity indwelt in human beings, and after all it shows to pursue the human essence. 2. Another symbolism of the body image is body expression as the human race and an ethnic group. The discriminating situations and the restoration of their status appeared in modern fashion too. Moreover, their cultures and issues came to alter the aesthetic standard of body made from a view of the Western white supremacist. Hereupon, fashion trends like ethnic fashion, Orientalism and African look etc. appear according to this tendency, which represents race and national identity and in addition, which signifies to present transcendental human conception embracing alienated human conception. 3. The symbolism of the body image expressed in a body, and a dress and its ornaments as nature can be considered in terms of the concern on environmental contamination and the respect of echo system. Getting away from reigning over, developing and stamping down nature at their will, the human beings pursue unity with nature, which is described in fashion. They are stressing that natural materials and objects such as animal, plant and soil etc. should activily be introduced into fashion and humans are a communal fate group and should reframe their status in nature at last. 4. The body image shown in a body, a dress and its ornaments as technology is transformed and recreated by modern scientific techniques and medical science to show post human conception namely, forthcoming future human conception as a cyborg which loses individual identity. This presents a perfect future human conception with high level of preternatural power but after all, leaves us a task to seek the meaning of human existence in alienation caused by the loss of human identity and existence. In this manner, the moderns crave for perceiving the identity of a natural human being in the current thoughts tendency of the modern times such as postmodernism, post structuralism, deconstructionism, feminism and so on, which build discussions affecting the art and fashion worlds. The categories, like sexual characteristics indwelt in a human body, racial classifications, the natural environment surrounding human beings and development of science, bring out the importance of the internal and external meaning in today's fashion which a human body contains, and present sew human conception in the coming future society.

본 연구는 시설에 거주하는 청소년의 자아정체감 향상을 목적으로 한 노래만들기 활동의 개별 음악치료 사례연구로 연구 대상자는 쉼터에 거주하는 만 16~18세 남자 청소년 3명이다. 노래만들기 프로그램은 각 대상자별 자아정체감을 구성하는 하위요인 중 낮은 영역을 중심으로 선율과 가사 등의 음악적 요소를 활용하여 구성되었다. 프로그램은 주 1회, 각 회기별 60분씩 총 13회기에 걸쳐 진행되었고 자발적으로 참여의사를 밝힌 대상자들에게 시행되었다. 자료분석은 자아정체감 척도에 따른 하위영역별 사전, 사후 검사 결과와 회기별 언어적, 음악적 반응에 따른 변화, 사후 대상자들의 언어적 반응을 분석하는 평가 방법을 사용하였다. 연구 결과 대상자 A를 제외한 대상자 B, 대상자 C는 자아정체감 사전 척도 검사 결과에 비해 사후 결과가 향상하였으며 하위영역 별로 대상자 B는 친밀성이, 대상자 C는 주도성이 가장 많이 향상되었다. 회기별 언어적, 음악적 반응에서 참여 대상자 모두 자아 탐색 과정을 통해 주체성이 향상되었으며 이는 긍정적 자아상 확립에 기여하였다. 또한 사후 언어적 반응에서 대상자 3명 모두 '나'를 주제로 한 창작곡이 자아를 탐색하고 자아정체감을 확립하는 데 실질적으로 도움이 되었다고 표현하였다. 결과적으로 치료적 노래만들기는 시설보호청소년의 자아정체감 확립에 긍정적 영향을 미치는 것으로 사료된다.

본 연구의 목적은 스포츠 활동에 참여하는 성인남녀(남성 114명, 여성 193명)를 대상으로 성 정체성 측정도구를 개발하는 것이다. 성 정체성 측정도구에 대한 타당도 검증을 위하여 구인동등성과 잠재평균 분석을 하였다. 자료처리방법으로는 빈도분석, 탐색적·확인적 요인분석, 신뢰도, 상관관계, 문항의 정상성 분포, 구인동등성, 잠재평균 분석을 실시하였다. 연구 결과, 첫째, 본 연구변인인 성 정체성에 대한 구인동등성 검증결과, 형태동일성, 측정동일성, 그리고 절편동일성이 확보되어 본 측정도구는 성별과 상관없이 측정할 수 있다. 둘째, 스포츠 활동 참여 시 여성이 남성보다 개방적인 성향이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 스포츠 활동 참여 시 여성이 남성보다 보수적인 성향이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, 스포츠 활동 참여 시 여성이 남성보다 주관적인 성향이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 다섯째, 스포츠 활동 참여 시 외향적인 성향에 대해서는 통계적으로 차이가 나타나지 않았다. 이상의 연구결과로 미루어 보다, 여성의 사회적 진출과 같은 시대적 변화가 스포츠에서도 남성과 여성이라는 성별에 영향을 받지 않는다.

본 연구는 SNS 플랫폼(인스타그램, 유튜브, 틱톡)에서 인기가 높은 남성 뷰티 인플루언서 4명을 선택하여, 그들이 여성 팬들의 동일시를 얻기 위해 사용하는 SNS 이미지의 전략과 효과를 탐구하고자 한다. 연구 방법은 2023년 7월 21일까지 인스타그램, 유튜브, 틱톡에서 구독자 수가 높은 남성 뷰티 인플루언서 4명인 리쟈치(李佳琦), Jeffree Star, James Charles, Bretman Rock을 선택했다. 연구는 이들이 SNS에 게시한 콘텐츠를 관찰하며 라캉의 응시 이론을 통해 남성 뷰티 인플루언서의 이미지 유형, 특징 및 여성 팬들과의 동일시와의 연관성을 분석했다. 그 후 응시와 관련된 거울 단계, 스크린, 대상a 등의 개념들을 보충하고 남성 뷰티 인플루언서의 이미지 특징과 여성 팬들의 시청 동기에 대해 깊이 있는 분석을 수행했다. 연구 결과로, 남성 뷰티 인플루언서들은 여성화된 거울 이미지 안의 동일성으로 형성된 동일시를 통해 여성 팬들과 '여성적 우정(girl-friendship)'이라는 친근한 관계를 유지할 수 있다는 것을 제시한다. 또한, 남성 뷰티 인플루언서들은 성 정체성의 다원화, 즉 차이성을 가진 이미지를 통해 여성 팬들을 남성적 응시에서 여성적 응시로 변화시켜 보이는 대상에서 보는 주체로 만들 수 있다. 따라서, 남성 뷰티 인플루언서의 이미지는 성별에 대한 사회의 고정관념을 뒤집는 동시에 현대 젊은 여성들의 독립과 평등에 대한 요구에 부응하고, 여성적 응시에 대한 이해를 촉진하며, 소셜미디어 플랫폼의 민주성과 포용성의 잠재력을 탐색하는 새로운 시각을 제시할 것이다.

과학 내용의 제시방법과 사례, 적용 등이 남성 중심이고 과학자의 수에 있어서 남성이 절대적으로 많음으로 인해, 과학은 전통적으로 남성의 학문으로 인식되었다. 과학교과서가 이처럼 남성 중심적으로 구성되어 있기 때문에 과학을 학습하는 남학생들에게는 과학에 대한 관심과 자신감을 키워주지만, 여학생들에게는 과학에서의 여성성에 대한 인식과 정체감을 감소시킨다고 하였다. 이러한 문제들을 해결하기 위하여 미국과 영국 등 선진 여러 국가에서는 과학 성취도, 태도, 진로 등 과학영역에서 나타나는 성차의 원인을 밝히고 성불평등을 해소함으로써 과학기술계로의 여성 진출을 장려하기 위하여 여학생에게 친근한 과학을 개발하기 위한 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다. 이 논문에서는 외국의 문헌과 사례를 중심으로 과학영역에서 나타나는 성차의 원인을 분석하고 여학생들을 위한 과학교육 프로그램 및 방안 사례를 살펴본 후, 여성 과학교육의 활성화 방안에 대하여 고찰하였다.

The culture phenomenon, which the desire of self expression is noticeable and the diversity of gender identity is widely accepted, simply makes a difference in the lifestyle of one human being rather than the dichotomous classification of male and female. Now, the delicate and aesthetic sensitivity classified as the feminine characteristics is no longer the exclusive property of female and this refers to substituting it as a social gender from the concept of biological sex. This phenomenon has influenced on the male culture and is creating various codes according to the cultural gender extended from the gender as a social role. Also, the transition into the western lifestyle has extended the aesthetic emotion to accommodate new codes from the diversification and globalization of lifestyle. The mansumer power, which does not care too much about the money for the emotionally attached items, has enabled various fashion styles. After analyzing the diversified clothing behavior conducted by these people in connection with the social phenomenon, First, this shows the phenomenon of emotional value pursuit that finds pleasure over the clothing as the item of augmented reality is added to the concept of play, in which the real space referred to as garment and virtual space of playing the rock, paper and scissors game meet together within the augmented reality. Second, the convergence concept has enabled the coordination of new style by obscuring the area of design concept and this refers to the changes in design from the development of new items and transformation into double-style details. Third, the divergence that intensively provides specific use/convenience and specialized value shows a change in the fashion market from the phenomenon that admits various gene rations of culture and specifically, takes differently about the recognition of middle-aged males. Fourth, the variety seeking tendency receives attention as the value of future design together with the phenomenon of discriminative value pursuit. In the male fashion, it is linked to the collaboration with the design area and this tells that the fashion with the narcissistic cross-dressing and motto of neutral gender without being sided to male/female is rising.

This study analyzed the expressive characteristics of padding in contemporary fashion. The methodology of this study was quantified through documentaries, fashion collections, and internet news. The results of expressive characteristics and methods were as follow. First, variability showed the creation of dwelling space by air filling, detail mode by zipper, and diversity of recycled filling by zipper pocket. It reflected the pursuit of nomadism and subversion of permanence by change of filling. Second, it was sexual symbolicity that showed the blurred androgynous silhouette by air filling and padding bar design of the chest, stomach, shoulder for the male body silhouette. It emphasized male sexual identity and power through the expression of a modern ideal body. Third, decoration displayed various crafts (such as knitting), various fabric such as polapolis, suedette, corduroy, denim, leather, knit, and spangle. It reflected visual pleasure, scarcity and various interpretations. Fourth, playfulness character forms throug hair filling, unfamiliar fashion items, diversity of silhouette and change of uses. It reflected a pleasant feeling through astonishment and surprise, nostalgia involved in memory and childhood play and disembarrassment from reality. Fifth, simplicity showed the elimination of a sportswear's factor with regular wad quilting, elimination of wad quilting, wad quilting following the structural line of clothes and the structual line of clothes omitted. It reflected disembarrassment from stereotype and an emphasis on essential elements.

This study was conducted to analyze the specific genes associated with sex-determination in Korean native cow. The highly organized spermatogenesis requires accurate spatial and temporal regulation of gene expression, which is governed by transcriptional, post-transcriptional, and epigenetic processes. Recently, farmers have been interested in determining the sexual identity of the calves in their farm. We analyzed the sperm of Korean native and Holstein cows, which were supplied from Hanwoo Improvement Center. We evaluated sperm motility and expression of sperm-specific genes after treating semen with both male- and female reagents. Sperm motility in Korean native cows decreased by approximately 10% in the first 30 minutes after treatment with sex-determination reagent. However, sperm motility of Holstein cows decreased to 60-70% after 15 minutes and to 20-30% after 30 minutes. We selected six specific genes expressing in the spermatozoa to analysis the gene expression level. The Real-time PCR results suggest that the selected genes (Gimap4, Tmeff1, Rac2, Abi2, Rac1, and Clu) were highly expressed in the group treated with the male reagent compared to the group treated the female reagent and to the untreated-group (control). In the present study, we suggest that the selected genes play a pivotal role in sex-determination.

본 연구는 남성 간호사들의 임상간호현장 적응 경험의 구성요소와 적응에 도움을 주는 요인을 밝히는 것이다. 본 연구의 참여자는 종합병원에 재직하고 있는 남성 간호사 8명이다. 심층면담을 통하여 수집된 자료는 Giorgi의 현상학적 분석 절차에 따라 분석하였다. 참여자의 임상간호현장 적응 경험의 핵심 구성요소는 '주어진 업무에 전념하기', '기대와는 다른 현실에 도전하기', '직업적 정체성 확립하기', '미래를 위한 자기 개발하기'로 축약 되었다. 이 구성요소들 간의 관계는 인과적, 촉진적, 순환적 특성을 보여 주었고, 참여자들의 적응 경험은 시간적 맥락에 따라 구조화 하고 있다. 남성 간호사들이 원만한 임상간호현장 적응을 위해서는 이들의 근무 여건 조성을 위한 지지체계 확립, 성 차별 없는 공정한 인사 및 승진 기회 부여 등의 정책적 노력이 요구되며, 이들 스스로 의지력 강화와 적응 전략 채택을 통한 자기개발 노력의 내적 통제가 필요하다. 연구 결과를 토대로 제언하면, 본 연구의 결과를 바탕으로 이들의 임상간호현장에서 자리를 굳힐 수 있도록 돕는 전략 개발과 정책적 노력이 필요하다.
