The purpose of this study was to explore the perceptions of preservice teachers toward children from single parent families. 218 preservice teachers (209 female and 9 male) who were enrolled in the department of early childhood education and child care & education were participated in this study. A questionnaire was developed based on the questionnaire developed by Song, Sung, & Han (2003). Data were analyzed by using SPSS 11.5. The results were followed. First, preservice teachers' personal experiences of single parent families did not influence their perception of children from single-parent family. Second, preservice teachers who strongly held the view of keeping traditional family structure showed negative expectations of children's school adjustment. Third, preservice teachers reported the importance to help the children adjustment at school as well as to deal with their personal and family problem. The results presented that there was an increasing need in teacher education, to develop curriculum for preservice teachers to have balanced views or reduce their biased perception against diverse family structure and children from single parent families.
The main purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between social support, life satisfaction, and school-related adjustments of adolescents. The participants were 260 junior high school students (140 male and 120 female students) from the Seoul area. They completed questionnaires on social support, life satisfaction, and school-related adjustments. The collected data were analyzed using basic descriptive statistics, Pearson's correlation, and a multiple regression analysis. Baron and Kenny's method was used and examined, and the Sobel test was performed to determine the mediating model's significance. It was adapted to SPSS ver. 19.0 for Windows. The major findings were as follows: first, social support (parents/teacher/friend) was positively correlated with the adolescents' school-related adjustment. Second, the adolescents' life satisfaction was also positively correlated with the adolescents' school-related adjustments. In addition, social support was positively correlated with life satisfaction. It was further found that the adolescents' life satisfaction tended to play a perfectly/partially mediating role between social support and school-related adjustment; that is, social support (parents/teacher/friend) was shown to have not only a direct effect, but also an indirect effect through the adolescents' life satisfaction, on the school-related adjustments. These results clearly indicated that adolescents' life satisfaction plays a crucial role in the relationship between social support and the adolescents' school-related adjustments.

The data have been analyzed by reliability test, t-test, one-way anova and pearson correlation. Most of preservice teachers who major in mathematics have had no experience of multiple cultures. But they have shown a high perception on multicultural education and a significant positive correlation on their experience of multiculturalism, multicultural efficacy and multicultural sensitivity. Furthermore, the female preservice teachers' multicultural efficacy, multicultural understanding and multicultural sensitivity are much more high than the male preservice teachers'. The difference between different sex has been statistically significant.
In this study, we surveyed characteristics of the science related collaborative problem solving competency of pre-service elementary teachers, especially required in the digital age. The participants in online survey were 119 pre-service elementary teachers of National University of Education located in Gangwon province. The analyzed results of survey were as follows: First, pre-service teachers performed their task responsibly in collaborative problem solving context related to science. However, they lacked competencies in making rubrics for problem solving processes or outcomes, and setting up rules about team activities. Second, in using ICT technology, the competencies of utilizing tools such as app and software lacked compared with the competencies of searching data in online and using ppt. Third, there was no statistically significant difference among groups by their intensive major in university or selective subject in high school. Nevertheless, pre-service teachers majoring in natural science showed more persistence than those majoring in humanities in problem solving context. Finally, there was no significant gender difference except 'clear communication and accomplishment'. That is, female pre-service teachers performed more responsible in their task and showed more fluency in communication and presentation within their group than male counterparts. Based on these results, implications in the field of pre-service teacher education were discussed.
This study aimed to investigate beliefs of secondary pre-service teachers in mathematics. In particular, conceptions of teaching and learning were examined, For the purpose of this study, using an instrument, Teaching and Learning Conceptions Questionnaire, developed by Chan & Elliot(2004), a survey was conducted for 86 secondary mathematics pre-service teachers in Incheon area. The results showed that the mathematics pre-service teachers strongly agreed with the constructivist perspectives. In addition, compared to the juniors, the seniors responded more positive in the questions relative to the traditionalist view and the male students agreed more with the traditional conceptions, as comparing to the female students in this study. This study had limitations on the extent of the research site and participant. However, it would provide foundational information about pre-service teachers for teacher educators.

Lecture theatres and computing laboratories are common types of classrooms used for teaching and learning in this study; both were equipped with a computer network through which teachers and students can access learning management system, digital library, educational software, and so on. Students were divided into groups of two or three; each group of students collaborated on the worksheets in the laboratory and naturally sat together when attending a class held in the lecture theatre. The social organization of classroom learning would promote student learning but what drives student learning; how to engage students with learning; and how to maintain their interest in learning are of research interest in the present study. The study illustrated the theoretical and empirical links, student motivation has a relation to rich collaboration with peers, communication as verbal interactions as well as teacher-student interactions. These are within socio-cultural contexts for learning to take place. The study was extended to make comparisons of the motivational orientations between student genders. It was found that female students were keener on fun or enjoyment in learning, peer communication, and teacher's intervention, whereas male students were concerned more about digital learning tools, a positive working relationship, social reciprocity, and interpersonal relationships.
