Third, major nursing interventions associated with expected nursing outcomes were collected from 97 nurses who worked in the oncology unit. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics. Results: Four major nursing diagnoses were identified: acute pain, knowledge deficit, health seeking behaviors, and ineffective protection. Associated with each respective diagnosis, 3 major outcomes (pain level, pain control, and comfort state) for acute pain, 8 major nursing outcomes (diet, disease process, treatment regimen, illness, ostomy care, prescribed activity, health behavior, and infection management) for knowledge deficit, 4 major outcomes (health promoting behavior, health promotion, health belief, and knowledge: health resource) for health seeking behaviors, and 3 major outcomes (fatigue level, immune status, and nutritional status) for ineffective protection were identified. In addition, nursing interventions frequently used in clinical practice for each major nursing outcome were identified. Conclusion: The identified NANDA-NOC-NIC linkage can contribute to improving the applications of nursing process and care plans.

  • Mid of 1980s witnessed the beginning of a new trend regarding the elderly as the Third Age Group, which is capable of positive selection for their later life. These changes are caused not only by the rising cost of caring them as the dependent to the society, but also by paradigm shift from the clinical and biomedical model to political economy and critical gerontology. The paradigm shift is based on the social constructionism as a perspective on the later life. In this communication the development of social constructionism is reviewed as an approach on the living environment for later life through literature survey. Emphases were made on the anti-ageism instead of ageism in the analysis of the social constructionism perspective for living environment in later life. Individual practice, influencing the practice of others, influencing agency policy, and developing theory were addressed and emphasized for the practice of anti-ageism. This study found the importance of the development of the social constructionism perspective on the study and practice regarding living environment for ‘the Third Age’ in Korean situation.

One of the most popular contraceptive method has traditionally been the coitus interruptus in these countries. One of the major reasons for adopting family planning is to decrease the incidence of induced abortion has been closely related to the popular use of coitus interruptus in these countries. Most of the East European countries liberalized induce abortion legally mainly to neutralize the wide practice of illegal abortion. However, the practice of induced abortion is under the strict control of the public health authorities in these countries. Migration and redistribution of population of population are mostly under the control of the state in these socialist countries. Policies on migration and redistribution are usually carried out to achieve the general goal of socio-economic development plan of the states. The collected data were analyzed using the t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and multiple regression analysis. Results: The results showed that nursing professionalism was significantly correlated with gender (β=.20, p=.001), major satisfaction (β=.44, p=.007), clinical practice satisfaction (β=.45, p<.001), transitional shock (β=-.20, p=.012), and incivility experienced (β=-.18, p=.021) among nursing students. Conclusion: It is necessary to develop a plan for reducing individual satisfaction with clinical practice and the transitional shock of nursing students.
