The purpose of this study is to examine the level of knowledge adequacy of semiconductor subjects of university. The sample was 287 graduates, graduated Bachelor degree in semiconductor within recently 5 years. Analyzing the level of knowledge adequacy, we could assure that the completion rate of major semiconductor subjects is about 40% and the rate of their knowledge adequacy is approximately 35%.

The regulation of gene expression in procaryotes is accomplished primarily at the level of transcription. Initiation of transcription is subject to numerous promoter-specific controls which act to ensure coordinate expression of disparate genes. The kinetics of formation of a functional("open") complex at a promoter, prior to the catalytic steps of RNA chain initiation and elongation, is thought to play a major role in controlling the efficiency of transcription of that promotor, since the subsequent processes of nucleotide binding and phosphodiester bond formation are rapid and are not promoter-specific (Mangel and Chamberlin, 1974 Shimamoto et al., 1981)

As the logistics industrial environment becomes more complex and its scale becomes increase, the vehicle fleet scheduling system has become recognized the necessity as a major strategy in the logistics field. The vehicle fleet scheduling system is computerized package that find the vehicle routes and schedules to accomplish the required service to customers using vehicles. This paper introduces the state of the art of vehicle fleet scheduling system in Korea and foreign country and the future research subject are presented.

This paper presents machine vision technique with a camera modeling that accounts for major sources of camera distortion, namely,radial, decentering, and thin prism distortion. Radial distortion causes an inward or outward displacement of a given image point from its ideal location. Actual optical systems are subject to varios degrees of decentering,that is,the optical centers of lens elements are not strictly collinear. Thin prism distortion arises form imperfection in lens design and manufacturing as well as camera assembly. It is our purpose to develop the vision system for the pattern recognition and the automatic test of and to apply the line of part manufacturing.

The major subject of this paper is the conceptual design of a cable-buoy system based on mechanics of floating bodies and mooring lines. The goal is to present a systematic relevant analysis procedure for the conceptual design of oceanographic buoy systems. The dynamics of a free floating body with an anchoring line is studied and a model is proposed through the primary engineering.

The second research of "a study of the evaluation indicators in Korean public libraries’ had as Its major objective the identification of Indicators and broad dimensions of public library effectiveness in Korea. The managers and librarians of the 175 public libraries in the sample were asked to rate the performance of their libraries. Factor analysis was used to derive 11 dimensions of effectiveness. The dimensions fit four different models of organizational effectiveness.

Cleaner production is of substantial importance in changing the environmental approach within advanced industrialized countries. The critical principles involve fundamental understanding of diverse industrial processes, adherence to the earliest techniques of a hierarchy for reducing wastes, and utilization of an underlying thought process to achieve pollution prevention successes that are both technically feasible and cost-effective. Chemical engineering has played a major and unique role in this environmental field. Improving the sustainability of cleaner production will rest on including this subject in the curriculum of university engineering.

During the plant operation, steam generator U-tube assembly will potentially be subject to adverse environmental conditions which can cause damages to them. This report addresses the major design factors of CANDU type steam generator which are intended to minimize the potential tube damages. Such factors include U-tube material, high circulation ratio, tube-to-tubesheet joint, tube support design. Also a few suggestions are presented for the design and performance improvement of CANDU type steam generators.

In this paper major subject is to investigate the measurement errors affecting on the determination of observation numbers, which are required for work measurement, to set up the standard work time. A new digital media ear started a couple of months ago when 10 major cities in USA first boradcasted the all digital HDTV on the air. Digital video compression has been studied for decades but only recently, it becomes practical and is used in our daily life. We give an overview of the progress of video compression in recent years, particularly, the ones related to international standards. Through examples, we like to introduce this fantastic subject to the readers who were not familiar with it before.
