국내 신문 인쇄의 색재현 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on The Color Reproduction Properties of Domestic Newspaper Prints)

  • Web offset newspaper prints is the most widely used printing process in domestic printing industry, but there are no industry-wide specifications for press control to assure consistent quality across newspaper printing plants. As newspaper printing becomes more of a commodity and less of an art, it is necessary to develop the print quality specification standard suitable for Korea web offset newspaper printing field. There are a few commonly employed printing standards such as, SNAP (Specification for Non-Heatset Publication) of the US, IFRA(INCA-FIEJ Research Association), J-color (Japan printing machinery association). And there exists KS for domestic standards, however, since it has been directly imported from ISO standards, there are discrepancies in printing materials and media. This paper aims to examine the color reproduction quality of domestic web offset newspaper prints by comparing with foreign standards. Printing experiments on this study have been performed at one of the domestic newspaper printing companies. The color reproduction properties of the web offset newspaper prints are measured by means of densitometry and colorimetry. These measures are evaluated comapratively with the international standards by means of analyzing, the major factors that determine the color reproduction quality of web offset newspaper prints.

  • This study intended to provide valuable basic data for an efficient using newspaper advertising to manufactures by investising and analyzing the character of newspaper as fashion advertising and media environment, consumer's attitude of advertising subscription, a degree of recognition and concern on a newspaper advertising and a degree of like on expressive form of a newspaper advertising. A question that is drawn up by researcher base on existing records and preceding study was used as major method for understanding consumer's consciousness. The sample group is composed of female students, working women, housewives who lives in Seoul. The results of this study were as follows. 1. Manufactures should be developing Headline in subject matter to get out of plain sale advertising and event advertising. 2. Manufactures should difference to understanding Illustration that consumer prefer. Also using of photography is efficient and it is importent to use of color advertising that appeal to consumer. 3. The informative advertising is a high degree of efficiency by reason that the newspaper offers great news source and information.

지역사회발전을 위한 지역신문의 역할 (A Study on the Role of the Local Newspaper for Community Development)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the sole of local newspaper for community development in Korea. Specific objectives of the study were : 1) to identify the role of local newspaper in community development, 2) to analyze problems and situations on local newspapers in Korea, and 3) to suggest desirable roles of local newspaper for the community development. To attain the above objectives, this study was carried out through literature review, contest analysis of selected local newspapers, and the questionnaire survey of selected readers of local newspaper. The data were collected from 267 readers of local newspaper who participated in the farmers` training session in the Rural Development Administration, by using questionnaires developed by the researcher, and total of 263 questionnaires were analyzed. The statistical techniques used for the study were frequence, percentile, standard deviation utilizing the $SPSS/PC^+$. The major findings of the study were as follows : 1. The major roles of functions of local newspapers identified in this study were summarized as to reinforce the community consciousness, to form community opinion, to watch and to monitor community environment, to provide education and entertainment, and to contribute to the conveyance and promotion of community culture. 2. The general characteristic of local newspaper readers surveyed were; a) average distance from town to their village was 9.3 Km, b) average age was 29 years, c) about 75% of them were senior high school graduates, and d) about 96% of them participated in group activities. 3. About 45% of the respondents used television or radio for their moor sources of local news were TV or radio, while about 31% respondents used immunity newspaper for their moor sources of local news. About 67% of the respondents kept their readership over two years, and about 40% of them read community newspaper regularly at their home. 4. The results of content analysis showed drat the local newspapers were dealing with articles on cultural affairs, community consciousness, administrative and civic affairs, however, there were not enough educational news, and various kinds of general news in the community. 5. Survey also showed the most needed news were ; 1) political news including administrative and civic affairs, 2) economic news including sales and distribution, 3) social news including social problems on environmental pollution and community development works, 4) educational news including technology and information, 5) cultural news including guide to cultural and historical sites and local brief news. 6. In the evaluation of local newspaper, the readers were generally positive in valued roles of local newspaper in community relations, community development, promoting community cohesion and understanding of community members, and about 40% of the respondents were positive in predicting the bright future perspectives of local newspapers. 7. In the readers` evaluation of local newspaper, readers responded that local newspapers were very closely related to the community and residents, reflecting the current concerns of local population and recognizing the value of community media, and the contents of local newspaper were positively related to daily lives of community residents and opinions of overall community.

일본 신문기업의 경영전략 연구: 경영진의 위기인식과 대응책을 중심으로 (Business Strategies of Japanese Newspaper Companies: Top-level Managers' Perception and Reacting toward the Newspaper Crisis)

  • 신문왕국이라 불리는 일본 신문 역시 발행부수, 매출액, 광고수익 등에서 위기를 맞고 있다. 이에 일본의 주요 전국지 경영진들은 현재 일본 신문이 직면한 위기의 원인을 어떻게 진단하고 있고, 나아가 위기를 극복하기 위해 어떠한 대응전략을 펴고 있는지를 심층인터뷰와 2차 자료를 통해 살펴보았다. 일본 주요 신문사의 경영진들은 위기 원인을 주로 매체환경 변화에 따른 젊은 독자의 감소와 같은 외적 요인에서 찾고 있었다. 또한 광고매체로서 신문의 매력도 감소나 제작유통비용 상승과 같은 신문산업의 구조적 요인을 문제로 꼽았다. 위기에 대처하기 위한 대응으로는 젊은 독자에게 어필할 수 있도록 신문의 지면 강화, 온라인-오프라인 패키지 광고와 고객맞춤형 광고 시도, 온라인, 모바일 영역으로의 뉴스유통 확대, 부동산 사업 등 다각화를 통한 재정 안정성 확보, 브랜드 가치를 높이기 위한 각종 사업, 신문사간 공동 뉴스사이트 운영, 공동인쇄와 배달 등 다양한 협업을 시도하고 있다. 본 논문은 일본 신문사 경영진들의 위기인식에서부터 극복을 위한 다양한 대응전략을 통해 국내 신문기업들이 공유할만한 정보와 전략들을 제시했다는 데 의의가 있다.

신문사 자료실에 대한 평가 -문헌전달능력과 검색효율을 중심으로- (Evaluation of the Newspaper Library -With Emphasis on the Document Delivery Capability and Retrieval Effectivenss-)

  • This rearch is a case study for the newspaper libraries in Seoul and the primary purpose of the this study are to investigate its document delivery capability. To achieve the above-mentioned purpose, representative rsers visited seven the newspaper library and checked their searching time. Document delivery capability was checked by units of hour, minute, second(searching time). Retrieval effectiveness was tested through the recall ratio and the precision ratio. The major findings of the study are summarized as follows: 1) Most of the newspaper libraries excellent to the document delivery capability; 6 newspaper libraries deliverived the data related subject. 2) The newspaper libraries were came out 50.1% the mean recall ratio and 84.8% the mean precision ratio about the all materials. 3) Concerned their own articles, the newspaper libraries showed 71.4% the recall ratio and 90.0% the precision ratio. That moaned their own articles were more effectived than others. 4) The Kookmin Ilbo library had the most excellent system, and the precision ratio of The Dong-A Ilbo library prior to the recall ratio. The Han Kyoreh Shinmun library had a excellent arragement in own articles, but The Segye Times library had problem in every parties.

  • What is CRM(Customer Relationship Management) means that planning, executing, and re-accessing the marketing strategy based on the customer character by analyzing the material related to customers. That is CRM is a strategy of customer service on the base of data. In the case of the telecommunications and a newspaper, there are restricted application of CRM, because they are provided services by paying a given amount of money within a given period of time. This paper develops CRM model(chum prediction model) that can apply to a newspaper. For model-building, real data were used which were collected from one of the major a newspaper company in Korea. Also, this paper verifies the efficient result.

  • Visual and color in Korean newspaper advertisements appeared in transformational advertising (21cm$\times$30.4cm) were analyzed. Data were gathered from 191 advertisements shown on major four daily newspaper; Dong-a, Joong-ang, Chosun and Hanguk from October to December in 2000. From the results of this research, both type of layout and color are proposed more variety by this researcher. Mixed production techniques are used in newspaper advertising. Also, more foreign advertising model are expected near future. Finally, product life cycle have relationship with each layout elements. In other words, based on the stage of product life cycle layout elements are changed respectively.

  • 다채널 다매체의 디지털방송 환경은 오랫동안 무관의 제왕으로 언론영역에서 군림하고 있던 신문 기자들에게 적지 않은 위기감과 중압감을 안겨 주고 있다. 종이 신문의 판매 부수는 급감하고 있으며, 신문사들은 저마다 생존전략을 위해 영상매체로 돌아서고 있다. 더욱이 조중동을 제외한 지역 신문사의 경영난은 그 심각성을 더해가고 있다. 하지만, 콘텐츠의 절대 부족에 시달리는 디지털 방송매체에 있어 신문 콘텐츠의 제공은 희소식이 아닐 수 없다. 본 연구는 지역신문매체가 디지털방송의 치열한 마켓 플래이스에서 살아남기 위한 전략적 접근방법은 무엇인지에 대한 것이다. 지역성을 넘어서 온라인 저널리즘으로서의 가치 있는 신문 콘텐츠의 활용방안에 대하여 논의하고자 한다.

일제강점기 언론사연구와 안재홍의 "조선신문소사(朝鮮新聞小史)" (A Study on the History of the Press during the Japanese Ooccupation Period and "Josun Shinmun Sosa" by Ahn Jae-Hong)

  • 이 연구는 안재홍의 신문사 연구에 대해, 그가 1935년 발표한 "조선신문소사"를 중심으로 한국언론사의 연구사적 시각으로 검토하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 일제강점기 언론사를 주제로 한 주요 논의들을 살펴본 결과, 안재홍의 연구는 비교사적 방법과 사회사적 접근방법으로 고찰한 것으로 일제강점기 언론사 연구 가운데 가장 대표적인 성과로 평가된다. "조선신문소사"는 신문의 기원으로 인행조보와 긔별(저보)을 먼저 설명하고, 구한말 주요 신문에 참여한 인물, 신문의 논조, 주요 기사에 대한 평가를 통한 신문의 성격 분석, 신문체제, 신문광고, 친일신문, 일본인 경영 신문, 해외 교포 신문 등 구한말 신문현상의 다양한 주제를 설명했다. 신문에 기고한 글의 성격상 정밀한 연구라기보다는 개괄적으로 언급한 부분들이 있고, 객관적인 분석과 주관적인 감상이 혼합되어 있기도 하다. 그럼에도 안재홍의 연구는 일제강점기에 발표된 신문사 논의 가운데 연구대상의 여러 문제를 가장 포괄적으로 다루고 있고, 해석의 시각과 방향에서 이 시기 신문현상에 대한 선구적인 업적이라고 할 수 있다. 또한 동시대의 신문사연구와 해방이후 언론사 연구의 시기구분과 서술 방식에도 영향을 미쳤다고 평가된다.
