면내 조합하중과 횡압을 받는 선박 이중판의 강도 평가 (Strength Evaluation of a Doubler Plate of Ship Structure subjected to the In-plane Combined Load and Lateral Pressure Load)

  • A study for the structural strength evaluation of doubler plates subjected to the in-plane combined load and lateral pressure load has been performed through a systematic evaluation process. In order to properly estimate the static strength of doubler plate, elasto-plastic large deflection analysis is introduced including the contact effect between main plate and doubler. The characteristics of stiffness and strength variation are discussed based on the analysis results. Also, in order to compare the doubler structure with the original strength of main plate without doubler, a simple formula for the evaluation of the equivalent flat plate thickness is derived based on the additional series analysis of fiat plate structure. Using this derived equation, the thickness change of a equivalent flat plate is analyzed according to the variation of various design parameters of doubler plate and some design guides are suggested In order to maintain the original strength of main plate without doubler reinforcement. Finally, correlation between derived equivalent plate thickness formula and the developed buckling strength formulas for intact plates by author et al. is discovered and these relations are formulated for the future development of simple strength evaluation formula of doubler plate structure.

선박 이중판의 보강법 연구 (A Study on the Reinforced Method of Doubler Plate in Ship Hull Structure)

  • A study of the structural strength evaluation on the doubler plate, considering various load cases that were subjected to in-plane and out of plane combined load, has been performed through the systematic evaluation process. In order to estimate the proper static strength of doubler plate for various load cases, elasto-plastic large deflection analysis is introduced, including the contact effect between main plate and doubler. In order to compare the doubler structure with the original strength of main plate, without doubler, simple formulas for the evaluation of the equivalent flat plate thickness are derived for each load case, respectively, based on the additional series of analysis of flat plate structure. 압출성형을 이용한 플라스틱 방음벽 구조물 제작 연구 (Manufacturing of Plastic Noise Barrier Structure Using Extrusion Molding)

  • A plastic noise barrier is a structure installed to minimize noise, and it is composed of the main plate, sound-absorbing plate, and sound-absorbing material. Plastic noise barrier structures have several advantages compared to other products, such as light weight, anticorrosion, durability, easy assembly, rapid construction, and low costs. In this study, the main and sound-absorbing plates were manufactured through extrusion molding, and the sound-absorbing plate was finished with a press to improve the conventional injection molding. Extrusion molding dies and punch dies were designed, and a profile extrusion-molding system was developed. Thus, inexpensive and efficient sound-absorbing and main plates can be produced, and the noise barrier structure can be assembled rapidly. Additionally, a noise barrier structure with extended service life and excellent quality can be constructed by creating uniform free space to accommodate increased temperatures after assembly and installation.

  • 선박 판부재를 대상으로 중요한 하중경우의 하나인 양축방향 면내하중을 작용시키면서 이중판의 폭, 길이, 두께 및 주판(main plate) 부식 영향 등의 각종 파라메타 영향에 따른 이중판의 정적 강도평가를 주판의 접촉효과를 고려한 탄소성 대변형 비선형 시리즈 구조해석을 수행하였으며 이들 해석 결과로부터 각 파라메타의 변화에 따른 강성과 강도 특성을 분석하였다. 또한 이중판의 보강 효과가 최소한 새판으로 치환 보수한 평판 강도 수준으로 설계되어야 하므로 이를 손쉽게 파악할 수 있게 이중판으로 보강된 판부재를 등가 평판 두께로 환산할 수 있는 간이 평가식을 개발하였다. 이 개발식을 이용하여 각 이중판 설계의 영향인자 변화에 따른 등가 평판두께의 증감 정도를 파악하고 이로부터 적어도 새판으로 보수한 평판강도에 달할 수 있게 양축방향 면내 압축하중을 받는 이중판의 설계지침을 제시하였다. 마지막으로, 개발된 등가 평판 도출식은 고정밀 좌굴강도 평가식과 서로 일정한 상관관계가 있음을 확인하고 관계식을 정립하였다. 이 관계식을 각 경우별로 축적하여 앞으로 일일이 구조해석을 수행하지 않고도 설계된 이중판 강도를 등가 평판두께로 제시할 수 있는 간이 추정식의 개발에 이용될 수 있을 것으로 사료된다.

양축 면내 압축하중 하의 이중판보강 선박판부재의 설계시스템 구축 (Development of Ship Plate Member Design System Reinforced by Doubler Plate Subjected to Biaxial In-plane Compressive Load)

  • Because of the importance of steel material saving and rational ship structural design due to the rapid increase in steel prices, a ship structural design system was developed for plate members reinforced by doubler plates subjected to biaxial in-plane compressive loads. This paper mainly emphasizes the design system improvement and upgrade according to the change in the in-plane loading condition of the doubler plate from the single load discussed in a previous paper to the biaxial in-plane compressive load discussed in this paper. A direct design process by a structural designer was added to this developed optimized system to increase the design efficiency and provide a way of directly inserting a designer's decisions into the design system process. As the second stage of preliminary steps of doubler design system development, design formulas subjected to these biaxial loads used in the doubler plate design system were suggested. Based on the introduction of influence coefficients $K_t_c$, $K_t_d$, $K_b_d$ and $K_a_d$ based on the variations in the doubler length, breadth, doubler thickness, and average corrosion thickness of the main plate reinforced by the doubler plate, respectively, the design formulas for the equivalent plate thickness of the main plate reinforced by the doubler plate were also developed, and a hybrid design system using these formulas was suggested for the doubler plate of a ship structure subjected to a biaxial in-plane compressive load. Using this developed design system for a main plate reinforced by a doubler plate was expected to result in a more rational reinforced doubler plate design considering the efficient reinforcement of ship plate members subjected to these biaxial loads. Additionally, a more detail structural analysis through local strength evaluations will be performed to verify the efficiency of the optimum structural design for a plate member reinforced by a doubler plate.

  • Metallic bipolar plate for molten carbonate fuel cell(MCFC) is composed of the shielded slot plate and the center plate. Among these, the center plate plays an important role in gas sealing. Therefore, manufacturing of the center plate is considered one of the key issues in MCFC. The center plate is manufactured by bending process. In bending process, springback and recoiling are two main problems. The aim of this article is to optimize the bending process of the center plate regardless of springback and recoiling. To achieve this goal, we proposed the punch having step to reduce springback and recoiling. Using finite element method and $L_9$ orthogonal array, we determined the main factors in the center plate bending process. And we found the optimal bending process condition for the MCFC center plate.

  • The flow characteristics of impinging jet flow are affected greatly by nozzle plate to distance. An sharp edge nozzle was used to achieve uniform mean velocity at the nozzle inlet, and its diameter is 10 mm(d). Therefore, the flow characteristics on the impinging jet plate can be changed largely by the control of main flow. In the parent study, we investigate the effects of main flow length, its variable is nozle plate to distances(12d, 10d, 8d, 6d and 4d)

Aerodynamic Characteristics of Impulse Turbine with an End Plate for Wave Energy Conversion

  • This paper deals with the design and aerodynamic analysis of a special-type impulse turbine, with an end plate for wave energy conversion. Numerical analysis was performed using a CFD code, FLUENT. The main idea of the proposed end plate was to minimize the adverse effect of tip clearance of turbine blade, and was borrowed from ducted propeller, with so-called penetrating end plate for special purpose marine vehicles. Results show that efficiency increases up to $5\%$, depending on the flow coefficient; a higher flow coefficient yields increased efficiency. Decrease of input coefficient CAwith an end plate is the main reason for higher efficiency. Performance of end plate at various design parameters, as well as flow conditions, was investigated; the advantages and disadvantages of the presentimpulse turbine were also discussed.

  • 22mm까지의 두께를 갖는 HR Plate의 사용량을 증대시키기 위해서는 HR Plate가 강교량의 주부재를 포함한 모든 부재에 적용되는 것이 요망되어진다. 본 연구에서는 HR Plate의 적용가능 폭을 갖는 경량전철 협폭 박스거더의 가능성을 검토하였다. 빔요소와 플레이트 요소를 적용한 15개 경량전철 교량 모델들에 대해 풀모델링과 서부모델링을 적용하여 전산 구조해석을 수행하였다. 해석결과 HR Plates의 협폭박스거더는 경량전철에 적용될 수 있다는 것을 확인하였다.
