  • This paper is architectural paper which has been studied about residential culture of Southwestern Island from 18C to now. It's main object is suggest a new residential type. Contents of research is 1, to survey a history and a cultural environment of island. 2. to survey and rearrange residence(traditional, modem) which has been built from the past to the present, and establish a history of residence and a theory. 3. to search for architectural space, shape(form), and architectural community, etc. which can be continued. 4. to suggests ideal future residence type of islands. Effectiveness of Research is 1. This study suggests a new theory and a new method to the field of residential science, especially to the residence of island area. 2. In this study, traditional theory of residence be reflected in the modern architectural design.

Estimation of Residual Biomass, PHB, and Nutrient Concentrations by Supplied Amount of Ammonia Solution in Fermentation of Alcaligenes latus

  • A novel estimation method was investigated for determining the concentrations of residual biomass, poly-3-hydroxybutyrate (PHB), and main nutrients including carbon and nitrogen sources, phosphate, and mineral ions from the supplied amount of ammonia solution used for a pH-control solution and nitrogen source in a PHB fermentation. The estimation equations for a batch culture and a fed-batch culture were derived from the relationship between the growth rate of residual biomass and the feed rate of the pH-control solution, and then were applied to the batch culture and the fed-batch cultures of Alcaligenes latus. This method was successfully applied to estimate the concentrations of residual biomass, PHB, and nutrients.

East Meets West : The Introduction of Cotton Fibres in Ancient Greece

  • Archaeological evidence shows that cotton fibres of the genus Gossypium were first used for textile production at Mehrgarh, Pakistan in the Neolithic period ($6^{th}$ millenium BC). Eventually the cotton plant and textiles found their way to Egypt and through there, to Greece. However, the chronological origins of the cultivation and/or use of cotton fibres in textile production in ancient Greece are ambiguous. The main sources of information are ancient written texts and excavated textile finds. Both indicate that the introduction of cotton in Greece can be placed in the mid-first millenium BC. However, it is not clear whether the cultivation of the plant and consequently the production of cotton textiles was established in that period or whether another cotton species was produced and used locally in Greece or whether isolated examples of cotton textiles had been imported in Greece before the cotton plant. A more comprehensive analytical study of surviving textile finds coupled with archaeological research for plant production and cultivation would provide the answer to these questions.

  • The purpose of this research is to classify fashion consumers based on their attitudes, goals and values of life. It is to understand what drives human behaviors as well as to learn the various directions people live in society using Bangkok people as the samples. Online and on-site questionnaire survey is employed. Questions are designed to focus on 7 aspects of life, ranging from private life, professional life, social life, politics, culture and information interaction, household business and finance, and consumption of products and services in the main market. The research results can be used to classify consumers' lifestyles into 20 major and numerous minor groups of lifestyle. Lifestyles of male and female samples are compared to investigate their different patterns and directions. Fashion trend diagram is used to analyze the overlapped lifestyles of mass consumers. The lifestyle segmentations would benefit to designer and fashion branding team in understanding their target group deeper inside the background of their behaviors.

  • It was explained in detail that the present condition of herb culture in Japanese agriculture and the requirement of crude drugs of good and regulqr very hard hit by the market conditionof crude drugs taking ginseng (Panax ginseng C.A.Meyer) and Coptis Rhizome (Coptis japon-ica Makino) as examples. It is not too mach to say that the market is now under the control ofcrude drugs imported from China. The main current of herb culture in Japan will be the con-tract agriculture that the seedlings of good and regular quality are received and are cultivateduntil the enough time, and the farm products are directly handed to the medicinal company fol-lowing the example of zedoary (Curcuma zedoaria Roscoe) .

Analysis of Essential Oils from Elscholtzia ciliata and the Production of Essential Oils by Tissue Culture (향유의 정유 분석 및 조직배양)

  • The essential oils of Elscholtzia ciliata and the cultivated tissue have been studied. The composition and contents of essential oils were identified by gas chromatography and mass spectrometry. The main component of essential oils of E. ciliata was naginata ketone. The essential oils from the flowers, leaves and stems of E. ciliata showed similar patterns of gas chromatogram. In experimental studies on the tissue culture of callus, it has been found that NAA induced higher growth rate and higher content of essential oils than 2, 4-D. The essential oils from the cultivated callus showed different composition from that of mother plants.

The study focuses the Shanxi Huajin Dance Troup using case study method and provide a theoretical and practical reference for other literary communication forms in the literary industry. At the same time, the study provides a useful reference for how the cultural industry, with theatrical troupes as the main body, can operate and manage better in a "self-sufficient" market environment.

  • Focusing on China's profound historical/cultural heritage, as well as its favorable environment for the expansion of cultural and creative industries (CCIs), this paper considers the unique attributes of Chinese museum cultural and creative products (MCCPs) from the angle of cross-border development, and summarizes the main forms and effects of cross-border innovation in relation to Chinese MCCPs. It also examines the chief problems of Chinese MCCPs' cross-border growth at three levels - the national policy system, product development, and design and marketing - to explore countermeasures and suggestions for cross-border novelties and the advancement of products.

  • The purpose of this research was to reveal how Korean food is currently perceived by the "foodies" of New York City and to determine what social status Korean food has in the city that is deemed the "Restaurant Capital of the World." In-depth personal interviews were performed to provide a deeper insight into the comments and subject matters. Most foodies selected kimchi and Korean barbecue as the most distinctive foods in Korean dining. Korean food's distinguishing traits were extracted in four areas: specific ingredients and tools, preparation procedures, and rules. Sensory characteristics, local adaptation, service, side dishes, and the main strengths and short-comings of Korean foods were investigated. Perception toward the taste of Korean food was generally positive, but poor quality of service and lack of organization in establishments were found to be negative factors.

  • This study examines the main elements, concepts, and directions of 'cultural accessibility' in the field of cultural arts education through the French case. Above all, 'cultural accessibility' is viewed from the perspective of the problems of 'social exclusion' and the corresponding 'participation'. We discuss strategies for applying 'cultural accessibility' through French policy discussions. France is implementing this consistent policy structure through the development of its local self-government system. We first look at the current status of French cultural policy and cultural accessibility, and the participation. Next, we will discuss separately into the cultural arts education of the central government and those of local governments. For application to Korea, we propose the application of education to apply 'culture of public values', the establishment of autonomy in cultural arts education, and the application of a dual strategy for public advocacy.
