In this paper, we have proposed a simple finite element model for separation mode analysis on the roadwheel and track assembly of main battle tank and established a contact stress-based mechanism which could explain the initiation and growth of separation defect occurred during the test of padreplacable track. It was proved that the longitudinal contact shear stress component on the pin hole region of the track shoe body which is parallel to the driving direction is consistent with the crack initiation at the bonding surface between track shoe and wheel-side rubber. The longitudinal shear stress increased locally near the separated region after the separation initiated. So we could assume that the local stress concentration accelerates the separation growth according to the shear mode.

The objective of this study is to evaluate the dynamic properties of DUS (damping-up system) composed of the materials with excellent damping capacity, and to compare with those of the conventional hangar bolt. The main parameters are the type and hardness (𝜂H), of rubber and the prestress force (value converted from the compression strain (𝜂R) in the stress-strain relationship of rubber). The dynamic properties were examined from the natural frequency (𝜔n), maximum response acceleration (Am), amplification coefficient (𝛼p), maximum relative displacement (𝚫m), and damping ratio (𝜉D). The test results showed that the Am, 𝛼p, and 𝚫m values of DUS were 46.3%, 46.6% and 62.9% lower, respectively, and the 𝜉D value was 3.89 times higher, when compared to those of the conventional hangar bolt. In particular, the 𝛼p value was 1.3 for DUS, and 2.45 for the conventional hanger bolt, which were similar to those of rigid and flexible components specified in KDS 41 17 00, respectively. Consequently, in the optimal details of DUS, the 𝜂H values of 50 and 45 were required for the NR (natural rubber) and EPDM (ethylene propylene diene monomer), and the 𝜂R value of 5% was also recommended.

Many scientific approaches have been developed for the preparation of alternative crosslinker system of amino resins and isocyanate prepolymers. Herein, copolymerization of trimethoxy silane with N-butoxymethyl acrylamide was performed, and the product was reacted with hydroxyl groups in the alkyl main chain without the need for an additional crosslinker. For the crosslinker synthesized herein, the molecular weight, glass transition temperature, and viscosity increased with increasing content of N-butoxymethyl acrylamide.
To increase the structural integrity of concrete box culvert good compaction by the dynamic compaction roller with bi9 capacity is as effective as good backfill materials. It is needed for effective compaction that a compaction roller closes to concrete structure with high frequency. However structural distress of the culvert could be occur due to the excessive earth pressure by great dynamic compaction load. To investigate the characteristics of Induced stress by compaction, a box culvert was constructed with changing cushion materials and compaction methods. Two types of cushion material such as tire rubber chip and EPS(Expanded Polystyrene) were used as cushion panels and they are set on the culverts before backfill construction. Laboratory test result of cushion material says that the value of dynamic elastic modulus of rubber is lesser than that of EPS. On the other hand, material damping of rubber material is greater than that of EPS. In most case, dynamic compaction rollers with 10.5 ton weights were used and vibration frequency was applied 30Hz for the great compaction energy. This paper presents the main results on the characteristics of dynamic earth pressures during compaction. The amounts of induced dynamic pressures$(\Delta\sigma\;h)$ by compaction are affected with construction condition such as compaction frequency, depth of pressure cell, distance between roller and the wall of culvert and roller direction. Based on the measured values dynamic lateral pressure on the culverts, it could be said that orthogonal direction of roller to the length of culvert is more effective to compaction efficiency than parallel direction.

In order to assess the reliability of engine mount for a vehicles, life test model and procedure are developed. By using this method, failure mechanism and life distribution are analyzed. The main results are as follows; i) the main failure mechanism is degradation failure of engine mount rubber by fatigue failure at dynamic load. ii) temperature is a second factor to affect a failure. iii) the life distribution of engine mount module is fitted well to Weibull life distribution and the shape parameter is 18.4 and the accelerated life model of that is fitted well to Arrhenius model.
In this research, the relationships between the chemical structures of 10 different acrylate monomers with 3 different cross-linking monomers were evaluated. The thermal stabilities of the prepared copolymers were evaluated by their weight-loss percentage through thermogravimetric analysis, and their glass-transition temperatures were analyzed using differential scanning calorimetry. Based on the results, some relationships between the chemical structures of the monomers and their properties were derived and are discussed herein.
Analysis and separation of constituent materials of old car have been performed by using the industrial shredding line. For this aim, three old cars made by domestic automobile manufacturers, Sonata II, Sephia and Prince were chosen and delivered in pressed form without engine, tires and doors, etc. Shredding line was substantially composed of pre- and main-shredder. cyclone, magnetic separation, eddy current separation and man-power separation. From the separation of shredder products, iron scrap was observed to be the major material of old car accounting for 60.1 % of total weight and non-ferrous metals involving Al, Cu and Zn, etc. were about 2%. Light fluff, about 90% of total fluff product, was comprised with plastic, fiber and sponge, etc. and the fraction of 5 cm undersize in light fluff was 70.5%. In case of heavy fluff, however. rubber and plastic were found to be the major constituent materials of it. Among the constituent materials of fluff, plastic showed the highest calorific value, more than 10,000 cal/gr and leather and rubber showed relatively high chlorine content, 10.3 and 2.55 wt%, respectively.

In this paper, an elastomeric bearing for a helicopter rotor hub is designed using nonlinear finite element method. The elastomeric bearing is the main component of the helicopter rotor hub that acts as a hinge to three motions(flapping, lagging and pitching) of rotor blade. The elastomeric bearing consists of rubber and metal plates. The stiffness design of the elastomeric bearing is important because elastic deformation of rubber is served to hinge. Accordingly, the elastomeric bearing is designed to satisfy the stiffness requirements for rotor hub bearing. In this study, a FE model generation algorithm is developed and stiffness characteristic of a rubber plate is analyzed for an efficient design of the spherical elastomeric bearing. It is proven that the elastomeric bearing satisfies stiffness requirements of the spherical bearing for a helicopter rotor hub.
Due to the absence of design guidelines for elevated light-rail structures in Korea, most elevated light-rail structures have been designed and constructed based on the design codes of conventional railway bridges and on the codes recommended by foreign vehicle manufacturers. This is the main reason why most elevated light-rail structures are massive or over-designed or poorly constructed economically. In this paper, the authors carried out field tests to analyze the braking forces caused by braking a train running at speeds of 50km/h, 60km/h, and 70km/h, acting on the elevated structures of rubber-wheeled Light Rail Transit (LRT) trains. The authors also briefly describe the analyzed results of the braking force acting on the substructures of elevated light-rail structures. The test-results presented here in this paper can be referenced when establishing design guidelines or standards for elevated structures of LRT systems.
The efficiency of such work highly depend on the worker's safety, who is protected by tools such as gloves, sleeves, blankets and flexible coverings among other manufactured natural-rubber goods. Use, storage and maintenance of these tools guarantee the quality and durability of the material. However, it might be observed that good tools made of such material are disapproved of when received from manufacturers or when they are removed from the warehouse for replacement. This work shows the experimental results obtained from ageing at a temperature of $100^{\circ}C$ for 48, 70 and 312 h, although the application of AC electrical tension in samples and the measuring of current leakage are presented. The measurements in samples were carried out with samples prepared from the deformulated commercial materials and respectively reformulated into thin films. The obtained results showed the mechanisms of conduction of samples in low and high electric fields. It was also identified an electric tension transition showing that in low fields it prevails the Ohm's law conduction, and in high electric fields it prevails the conduction of space charge limited current (SCLC). These results can support the natural rubber formulation process having as their main objective the reducing of the mechanisms that occur under high conduction current in high electric fields, which leads the material to a dielectric breakdown. It is necessary to research this raw material from different internationally standard clones to characterize dielectric and electric properties for industrial applications. Moreover, this natural material has a low commercial price when compared to the synthetic ones.
