인터넷상에서 서비스되고 있는 E-Mail 서비스는 POP3 또는 IMAP4 통신 규약을 기반으로 하고 있으며, 최근에는 이미지와 Hypertext를 포함한 메일 내용을 전송하고, 수신하는 기능이 보편화되고 있다. 무선 인터넷을 이용한 모바일 전자우편 서비스를 위해서는, POP3의 경우 전용 모바일 E-Mail 서버를 이용하거나 E-Mail 내용을 모바일에 적합하도록 변환하여야만 하고, Web-Mail로 이용되는 IMAP4 E-Mail의 경우에는 원격 파일 서버와 같이 서버 측에 E-Mail이 보관되므로 IMAP4 규약이 없는 모바일 클라이언트로는 모바일 E-Mail 서비스의 이용이 곤란하다. 특히, 이미지나 Hypertext를 포함하는 경우 이들이 문자형태로 전송되므로 모바일에서 정보로 인식하기 매우 곤란하다는 문제점이 있다. 본 논문에서는 최근 보편화되고 있는 IMAP4 기반의 Web-Mail을 모바일에서 이용할 수 있도록 하는 모바일용 E-Mail 추출 엔진을 구현함으로써, POP3 E-Mail 서비스뿐만 아니라 IMAP4를 기반으로 하는 Web-Mail을 모바일 환경에서 이용할 수 있도록 하였으며, 이미지 변환 기능을 설계하여 기존 E-Mail 서비스에서 제공하지 않았던 E-Mail에 포함된 이미지 정보를 사용자에게 제공하도록 하였다. 이와 같이 E-Mail 추출엔진과 이미지 변환 엔진을 설계 및 구현함으로써 모바일 환경에서 최적의 E-Mail서비스를 받을 수 있도록 하였다.

유선 인터넷 망의 Mail 서비스에는 POP3(Post Office Protocol 3)규약과 IMAP4 (Internet Message Access Protocol 4)규약을 기반으로하는 Mail 등이 있다. 무선 인터넷을 이용한 모바일 메일 서비스를 위해서는, POP3 Mail의 경우 전용 모바일 메일 서버를 이용하거나 메일 변환을 거쳐야 하고, Web Mail로 이용되는 IMAP4 메일의 경우에는 원격 파일 서버와 같이 서버 측에 메일이 보관되므로 IMAP4 규약이 없는 모바일 클라이언트로는 모바일 메일 서비스의 이용이 곤란하다. 본 논문에서는 XML 기반의 마크업 언어변환기를 설계하고, 최근 보편화되고 있는 IMAP4 기반의 Web Mail을 모바일에서 이용할 수 있도록 하는 모바일용 메일 추출 엔진을 구현함으로써, POP3 메일 서비스뿐만 아니라 IMAP4를 기반으로 하는 Web Mail을 모바일 환경에서 이용할 수 있도록 하는 모바일 메일 서비스 방법을 제시하였다.

Spam mail is one of the most general mail dysfunctions, which may cause psychological damage to internet users. As internet usage increases, the amount of spam mail has also gradually increased. Indiscriminate sending, in particular, occurs when spam mail is sent using smart phones or tablets connected to wireless networks. Spam mail consists of approximately 68% of mail traffic; however, it is believed that the true percentage of spam mail is at a much more severe level. In order to analyze and detect spam mail, we introduce a technique based on spam mail characteristics and text mining; in particular, spam mail is detected by extracting the linguistic analysis and language processing. Existing spam mail is analyzed, and hidden spam signatures are extracted using text clustering. Our proposed method utilizes a text mining system to improve the detection and error detection rates for existing spam mail and to respond to new spam mail types.

본 연구의 목적은 정보풍부성이론과 사회적 영향이론의 접목을 통하여 업무특성, 기술 및 경험이 전자우편에 대한 태도에 미치는 영향과 태도가 전자우편의 사용에 미치는 영향을 분석하는데 있다. 커뮤니케이션 매체에는 직접대면, 서신, 팩시밀리, 전자우편 등이 있지만 본 연구에서는 e-mail에 초점을 맞추었다. 본 연구의 결과는 전자우편에 대한 태도는 전자우편의 경험 및 기술에 영향을 받으며 전자우편의 사용은 전자우편에 대한 태도에 영향을 받는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구의 결과는 정보풍부성이론과 사회적영향이론에서 예측한 결과와 동일한 것으로 나타났다.

The number of electronic mail(E-mail) has been increased dramatically as a result of expanding internet and information technology. Although there are many conveniences of E-mail in the bright side, some serious problems occur because of E-mail in its dark side. One of the problems is spam-mail which is unsolicited mail and also called bulk mail. This paper presents a set of patterns of spam-mail occurrences within a week using the correspondence analysis. The correspondence analysis is an exploratory multivariate technique that converts data into a particular type of graphical display in which the rows and columns are depicted as points. One of the meaningful patterns is a great increment of adult and phishing related spam-mails at weekends so any spam-mail filters should be designed to cope with this pattern.

Recently EAI WG of IETF has published standards for multilingual support in the local part of the e-mail address. Between 2009 and 2010, EAI WG published RFC documents, called the EAI standard, extension to the existing mail-related RFC documents, and EAI has been implemented and tested. In the course of reviewing the results, this yielded a proposal to modify the EAI standard. As a result, EAI WG has published modified RFC documents, called the EAI bis standard. SMTPUTF8 mail server described in this paper has been implemented according to the EAI bis standard. In addition, it has the ability to support two different standards to support the multilingual domain part of the e-mail address, IDNA and EAI bis. Futhermore, SMTPUTF8 mail server can encode in punycode the local part of the e-mail address. Finally, interoperability testing shows that SMTPUTF8 mail server is well-implemented according to the EAI bis standard.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the current brand of mail-order clothing, consumers' attitude over importance of brand and the effectiveness of brand when consumers purchase clothing by mail-order shopping. for this study, mail order catalogs were analyzed and the samples were collected through the questionaire distributed to 214 women. It was analyzed by SAS package. The results are as follows; 1. As a result of mail-order catalog analysis, domestic clothing included few famous brand except foreign brand. 2. The users of mail-order purchasing were old and married women comparably. They were also high clothing-expense users and housekeepers. Item that consumers wanted to buy using mail-order shopping were home-wear, night-wear, accessories and scarves which were involved low risks comparably. 3. Consumers regard brand significantly as a means of credit in purchasing mail-order shopping clothing. In analysis between importance of mail-order clothing brand and demographics, degree of education and clothing expense per month showed significant difference.

With the increasing proliferation of World Wide Web, electronic mail systems have become very widely used communication tools. Researches on e-mail classification have been very important in that e-mail classification system is a major engine for e-mail response management systems which mine unstructured e-mail messages and automatically categorize them. in this research we develop e-mail classifiers for e-mail Response Management Systems (ERMS) using naive bayesian learning and centroid-based classification. We analyze which method performs better under which conditions, comparing classification accuracies which may depend on the structure, the size of training data set and number of classes, using the different data set of an on-line shopping mall and a credit card company. The developed e-mail classifiers have been successfully implemented in practice. The experimental results show that naive bayesian learning performs better, while centroid-based classification is more robust in terms of classification accuracy.

This paper introduces the methodology for restrict adjustment of 25 mail sorting centers including 3 new mail sorting centers to balance their work loads and minimize their operating costs. We calculated the capacity of mail sorting centers considering mail types and analyzed the collection/delivery mail volume of 214 post offices to measure the work loads of mail sorting centers. We also developed the mathematical model and genetic algorithm to find the optimal solution for this problem.
