자기베어링 시스템에서의 변위측정을 위한 홀 효과 센서의 기초 연구 (A Basic Study of Displacement Measurement of Magnetic Bearing System Using Hall Effect Sensor)

  • Since the magnetic bearing system has unstability inherently it is necessary to measure the displacement for stable operation. Normally the displacement measurement is implemented by using sensors. The sensor for the displacement measurement is selected by precision, installation space, effect of magnetic field and response speed. And the cost of displacement measurement sensor also is considered. At the cost the hall effect sensor has a large advantage comparing with the others. Therefore this study concern about the basis experimental test for the displacement measurement of the magnetic bearing system that uses the hall effect sensor coupled with a tiny permanent magnet. The experimental results confirm the validity and practicability for this displacement measurement sensor.

자동 자기 왜곡보정 방위센서 개발 (Development of Auto-Tuning Geomagnetic Compass)

  • The need for position information in agriculture is gradually increasing for precise control farm vehicle and effective manage farm land. Though geomagnetic sensor has a lot of merits in estimating heading angle of vehicle because of low costs and sensing ability of magnetic north, it is easy that sensor outputs are distorted in electro magnetic field environment. This study was conducted to develop geomagnetic compass which could be available in measuring relative position from reference point correcting output distorted by external electro magnetic field in a small scale field. Magnetic inducing sensor (PNI's Vector2X) which wound enamel coated copper coil on ferrite core in order to measure and correct earth magnetic field. Magnetic azimuth was corrected using the algorithm which estimated amount of magnetic distortion from the difference between each outputs of magnetic sensors that located on the cross shaped base. Developed auto-tuning magnetic sensor was showed less then 5% as bearing accuracy in the strong magnetic field.

마그네틱 마커를 이용하는 이동로봇을 위한 위치인식 센서 시스템 (Positioning sensor system for mobile robots using magnetic markers)

  • In recent studies, many methods have been studied for mobile robot using magnetic markers on its pathway. This is not influenced by the weather conditions, and makes possible to develop controller with low level processors and simple algorithms. However, the interval between magnets is restricted by the magnetic field intensity and it is impossible to get road information ahead. This paper suggests a method of widening markers and expressing the road information ahead using magnetic markers, and explains a sensor arrangement considering suggested methods. Also, magnetic field analysis was done to investigate the effects of widening magnetic markers with various environments. A small mobile robot was made to figure out the performance of suggested methods, and driving experiments were performed on the straight and curved road with magnetic markers. The results show that the robot moved the prearranged pathway with 0.5 cm lateral displacements and stopped at a stop line using magnetic information on the road.

Single Magnetic Bead Detection in a Microfluidic Chip Using Planar Hall Effect Sensor

  • In this study, we fabricate an integrated microfluidic chip with a planar Hall effect (PHE) sensor for single magnetic bead detection. The PHE sensor was constructed with a junction size of $10{\mu}m{\times}10{\mu}m$ using a trilayer structure of Ta(3 nm)/NiFe(10 nm)/Cu(1.2 nm)/IrMn(10 nm)/Ta(3 nm). The sensitivity of the PHE sensor was 19.86 ${\mu}V/Oe$. A diameter of 8.18 ${\mu}m$ magnetic beads was used, of which the saturation magnetization was ~2.1 emu/g. The magnetic susceptibility ${\chi}$ of these magnetic beads was calculated to be ~0.14. The diluted magnetic beads solution was introduced to the microfluidic channel attributing a single bead flow and simultaneously the PHE sensor voltage was measured to be 0.35 ${\mu}V$. The integrated microchip was able to detect a magnetic moment of $1.98{\times}10^{-10}$ emu.

Theoretical Consideration of Nondestructive Testing by use of Vertical Magnetization and Magneto-Optical Sensor

  • This paper describes a new magnetization method for non-destructive testing with magneto-optical sensor (denoted as MO sensor) which have the following characteristic : high observation sensitivity, independence of the crack orientation, and precise imaging of a complex crack geometry such as multiple cracks. When a magnetic field is applied normally to the surface of a specimen which is significantly larger than its defects, approximately the same magnetic charge per unit area occurs on the surface of the specimen. If there is a crack in the specimen, magnetic charge per unit area has the same value at the bottom of the crack. The distribution of the vertical component of the magnetic flux density, B$\_$Z/, is almost uniform over the no-crack area (denoted as B$\_$Z,BASE/), while the magnetic flux density is smaller in the surroundings of the crack(denoted as B$\_$Z,CRACK/) If B$\_$Z, BASE/ is a bit larger than the saturated magnetic flux density of the MO sensor (B$\_$s/) , then small magnetic domains occur over the crack area and a large domain over the non-crack area because B$\_$Z,CRACK/ is smaller than B$\_$s/.

산화물 초전도체를 이용한 자기센서의 제작 및 특성 (Fabrication and Chracteristics of Magnetic Sensor using Ceramic Superconductor)

  • YBaCuO계 초전도체로 자기 센서를 제작하였다. 초전도 자기 센서는 약 95K에서 초전도 특성이 나타나며 액체질소온도에서 외부 자계를 인가할 때 전기저항이 증가하였다. 자계 인가로 인해 센서에서 발생되는 전압강하는 0에서부터 $100{\mu}V$이상으로 변화하였다. 전기저항의 변화는 자계에 의존하며, 센서의 감도는 2.9 ohm/T가 된다. 이 센서는 약 $1.5{\times}10^{-5}T(=1.5{\times}10^{-1}G)$까지의 자기를 감지 할 수 있다. 외부자계에 의한 전기저항의 증가는 초전도재료를 관통하는 자속으로 인한 Josephson 접합의 변화에 기인한다.

  • Nowadays there are magnetic sensors in a wide variety of equipment such as computers, cars, airplanes, medical and industrial instruments. In many of these applications the magnetic sensors offer safe and non-invasive means of detection and are more reliable than other technologies. The electric current in a conductor generates a magnetic field detected by this type of sensor. This work aims to define a package dedicated to an electrical current sensor using a MTJ (Magnetic Tunnel Junction) as a sensing device. Four different proposals of packaging, three variations of the chip on board (CoB) package type and one variation of the thin small outline package (TSOP) were analyzed by COMSOL modeling software by simulating a brad range of current injection. The results obtained from the thermal and magnetic analysis has proven to be very important for package improvements, specially for heat dissipation performance.

  • 이 논문은 glass기판에 Insb를 진공증착시킨 Insb박막 자기 sensor에 대하여 연구한 것으로 Hall 효과를 이용하여 자계 및 온도에 대한 Hall전압의 의존성을 조사하엿다. 일정전류구동에서 자계데 대한 Hall전압의 변화는 거의 직선적이었으나 정전압구동에서는 직선성에서 벗어나는 것을 보였다. 주위 온도가 증가함에 따라 Hall 전압이 감소하였으며 InSb 증착막을 자기 sensor로 사용하는 경우, 온도 특성을 고려할 필요가 있다.

  • In this paper, a low cost magnetic position sensor for linear position detection is proposed. The proposed magnetic sensor can be applied to the linear motor which has stator with periodical teeth, such as transverse flux linear motor(TFLM). Sine and cosine waves can be generated from the unit sensor module as the linear motor moves, and the outputs can be converted to the position data by interpolation IC. To reduce the speed ripple caused by the position error, the Luenberg observer is introduced. The validity of the proposed magnetic position sensor is verified by experiment with a 750N three-phase TFLM.

GMI Magnetic Field Sensor Based on a Time-coded Principle

  • A laboratory sensor model was designed, constructed, and tested based on a newly proposed working principle of magnetic field detection. The principle of sensing employed a time-coded method in correlation with exploiting the advantageous features of the GMI effect. The sensor demonstrated a sensitivity of $10\;{\mu}s/{\mu}T$ in the field range of ${\pm}100\;{\mu}T$. The sensing element in the form of an amorphous thin wire, $100\;{\mu}m$ in diameter ${\times}50\;mm$ long, was fit into a small field modulation coil of 60 mm length. At a magnetic field modulation in the range of hundreds of Hz, the change in time interval of two adjacent GMI voltage peaks was linearly related to the external magnetic field to be measured. This mechanism improved the sensor linearity of the GMI sensor to better than 0.2% in the measuring range of ${\pm}100\;{\mu}T$.
