Local Laser Annealing in Exchange-Biased Films with Out-of-Plane and In-Plane Magnetic Anisotropy

  • Local magnetization reversal in the exchange-biased NiFe/FeMn and $[Pd/Co]_5/FeMn$ multilayers with in-plane and out-of-plane magnetic anisotropy was achieved by using laser annealing. The local annealed NiFe/FeMn film under the opposite magnetic field shows a magnetoresistance (MR) curve having two symmetric peaks at the positive and negative exchange biasing field (${\pm}H_{ex}$). The intensity of the nucleated MR peak rises as the exposed area extends during the laser annealing process, and the peak disappears under the reverse magnetic field. In the case of [Pd/Co]/FeMn films, the local magnetization reversal increased gradually as the laser power increases. The locally reversed magnetization was restored under the opposite magnetic field.

  • The effect of field annealing on the velocity changes of magneto surface acoustic wave (MSAW) devices has been investigated for deposited $(Fe_{1-x}Co_x)_{89}Zr_{11}$ (x = 0~1.0) amorphous films. By means of two step field annealing at $195^{\circ}C$ for 10 minute in the magnetic field of 130 Oe, the MSAW device with x=0.4 film among the devices showed the superior velocity change of 0.1 %. This gigantic value was obtained in the DC bias field of 40 Oe at the exciting frequency of 8.7 MHz. It was confirmed that such behavior was due to the variation of differential permeability caused by an optimal stress within the magnetic film.

  • For improving magnetic properties of the amorphous Fe-B-Si alloy, we annealed in a magnetic field oriented in the plane of the ribbon longitudinal to its long axis. By field annealing, coercive force and total core loss are reduced from 0.04 Oe to 0.02 Oe, and from 0.25 watt/kg to 0.15 watt/kg respectively comparing with non-field annealed specimen. These reductions were caused by the formation of $180^{\circ}$ domains parallel to the annealing field due to the induced anisotorpy.

  • DC 마그네트론 스퍼터링법으로 증착된 700 $\AA$의 NiFe 박막을 박막 증착시 형성시킨 자화용이축에 수직한 자기장을 인가하여 열처리한 후 일축 이방성 자기장의 회전을 조사하였다. NiFe 박막은 열처리온도 160 $^{\circ}C$에서 자화용이축과 자화곤란축을 구분할 수 없는 등방적인 상태가 되었고, 열처리온도가 증가함에 따라 다시 일축 이방성을 갖는 상태가 되었다. 열처리 온도가 400 $^{\circ}C$ 이상인 경우에 급격한 보자력의 증가를 보였다. 열처리 온도가 400 $^{\circ}C$인 경우에 XRD 분석과 AES depth profile은 NiFe 박막 내에서 (111) 방향으로 결정성장이 활발히 일어나며 인접한 전극 Au와 상호화산 현상도 광범위하게 일어남을 보여주었다.

  • Effects of annealing and thickness of Co layer in Co/IrMn bilayers on the magnetic properties have been investigated. The highest interfacial exchange coupling energy($J_{K}$ = 0.12 erg/$\textrm{cm}^2$) was obtained for 10 nm Co layer thickness. Exchange bias field is inversely proportional to the magnetization, the thickness of the pinned layer, and the grain size of antiferromagnetic layer. Also it is related to the interfacial exchange energy difference, which is expected to depend on the surface roughness. These results almost agree with the random-field model of exchange anisotropy proposed by Malozemoff. Exchange bias field decreased slowly with increasing annealing temperature up to X$300^{\circ}C$. However, exchange bias field increased above $300^{\circ}C$.

  • We investigated annealing effect of microforged powders on magnetic properties and electromagnetic absorption behaviors for ferromagnetic Fe-Cr metal alloy powder-polymer composites. The coercive properties greatly decreased with annealing temperature and the magnetic permeability had significantly increased after microforging and subsequent annealing treatment, due to a reduction in lattice strain of the microforged powders. The power loss in the far field regime also had greatly increased after microforging and subsequent annealing treatment in frequency range from 50 MHz to 6 GHz. As a result, the electromagnetic absorption of ferromagnetic Fe-Cr alloy metal powder-polymer composites was highly improved because of the relaxation of the internal strain during annealing process.

  • 초미세결정립과 비정질을 동시에 포함하는 리본형 Fe73.9Cu1.0Nb3.5Si14.0B7.6 합금을 자기장 중 열처리한 시편의 결정?적 특성 및 고주파 연기자 특성을 인가 자기장과 열처리 온도에 따라하여 조사아였다. 제조된 리본의 표면에 석출된 Fe-Si 초미세결정립은 (400) 우선방위를 나타내는 동시에 리본길이방향으로 [011] 결정측이 형성되어 있음을 확인하엿다. 자기장을 인가하지 않거나 길이방향으로 자기장을 인가하여 열처리할 때 45$0^{\circ}C$에소 Fe-Si 초미세결정립이 석출되다, 폭방향의 자기장을 인가한 경우 초미세결정립의 석출은 지연되어 55$0^{\circ}C$에서 나타남을 확인하였다. 길이방향으로 자기장을 인가할 때 시편의 결정화 정도는 외부 자기장을 인가하지 않은 경우에 비해 조금 증가하였다. 그러나, 시편의 각도를 기울여 측정된 X-선 회절패턴으로부터 시편내부는 표면과 달리 결정화가 진행되고 있음을 확인하였다. 열처리한 시편의 포화자기유도는 1.3T로 비슷하였다. 열처리전 리본의 보자력의 크기는 1.06A/츠이었으나, 열처리한 시편은 열처리 온도가 40$0^{\circ}C$에서 55$0^{\circ}C$로 증가함에 따라 0.56A/cm에서 0.1A/cm로 감소하였다. 폭방향의 자기장을 인가한 경우 각형비는 자기장을 인가하지 않거나 길이방향으로 자기장을 인가하여 열처리한 시편의 각형비보다 작았다.

CoFeSiBNi 아몰퍼스 합금의 자기-임피던스 효과 (Magneto-impedance effect of CoFeSiBNi amorphous magnetic films)

  • Soft ferromagnetic materials are very useful for many sensors using magnetic materials demanding high permeability, low coercivity and low hysteresis loss. Among them, FeCoSiBNi amorphous magnetic films show a good impedance change (about 5.01 %/Oe, at 10 MHz) by the exterinal magnetic field in this experiment. The magnetic films are produced by melt-spun method, one of the rapid solidification process. Ribbon shape wires were made from the films, and let them annealed in DC magnetic field to increase the maximum Giant Magneto Impedance ratio. Field annealing decreases the stress and changes the effective anisotropy. Thus, we can find that the impedance change (200.47 %) is improved and the fabricated magnetic wire has characteristics of good sensor element.
