We present results of CO observations toward an infrared (IR) source, IRAS 07280-1829, and its possibly related molecular clouds. The physical parameters of this IR source such as its infrared slope (${\alpha}$=16) of the Spectral Energy Distribution and bolometric temperature (145 K) indicate that it is an embedded protostar. Its luminosity is ${\sim}2.9{\times}10^4L_{\odot}$, typical of a massive star. The CO profile toward IRAS 07280-1829 has broad wing components, implying a possible existence of CO outflow. The excitation temperature and mass of a molecular cloud (Cloud A) which is thought to harbor the IR source are estimated to be 9~22 K and ~180 $M_{\odot}$, respectively, indicating the Cloud A is a typical infrared-dark cloud. Its LTE mass is found to be much smaller than its virial mass by more than a factor of 10 which is inconsistent with the fact that a protostar recently formed exists in the Cloud A. This may suggest that the environment of the cloud where the IR source is forming is dominant of turbulence and/or magnetic filed, making its virial mass estimated unusually high.

Little is known about neonatal mitochondrial disease, though mitochondrial metabolic disorders may often present in the neonatal period because of the high energy requirement of neonate. In newborn period, common presentations are not specific and the disease course may be rapid and fatal. In this study, we report three cases of neonatal mitochondrial disease. The first case was strongly suspected because of sudden seizure and mental change with severe lactic acidosis, and multiorgan failure. Plasma lactate/pyruvate (L/P) ratio was increased to 55.6 with marked lactic aciduria and increased plasma alanin up to 2,237 nmol/mL. In the second patient, a peritoneal dialysis was performed for acute adrenal and renal failure, but metabolic acidosis persisted. Plasma L/P ratio was increased to 23.9, and MRC I (mitochondrial respiratory chain defect) was diagnosed through the enzymatic analysis of the muscles. The third case showed repetitive episode of lactic acidosis during the first two months of life, hypotonia, failure to thrive and feeding difficulties. We found markedly increased cerebrospinal fluid L/P ratio up to 57 though plasma L/P ratio(19.4) was borderline with increased plasma lactate. The lactate peak was prominent in brain magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS). MRC II was confirmed through muscle biopsy. Plasma lactate level and lactate peak of brain MRS were normalized after conservative treatment.

The parking guidance system can increase driver's convenience with detailed parking information service, but it continuously consumes electrical energy with large amount of sensors, displays and control modules. With the increase of the demand for green and sustainable building design, it becomes a meaningful issue for parking guidance system to reduce operating power. This paper presents the preliminary design and estimated results of a parking guidance system which is optimized to reduce the power consumption mainly on detectors and displays. The system design is based on commercial wireless parking detectors, wireless-loop-detector and earth-magnetic-detector. We have performed system architecture design, communication network design, parking information service scenario planning, battery life regulation and at last operating power estimation. With the 7 years of battery replace cycle, the estimated result for power consumption of designed system was 0.33W/slot, which is 13% of the traditional system's estimation result. The estimated annual maintain cost was similar to the traditional ultrasonic sensor based system's. The low power operable designed system can be expected to reduce CO2 emission.

The series of solid solutions in the $Sr_{1+x}Ho_{1-x}FeO_{4-y}$ (x = 0.00, 0.25, 0.50, 0.75 and 1.00) systems with $K_2NiF_4$ type structure have been prepared at 1550$^{\circ}$C under an atmospheric air pressure. The X-ray powder diffraction spectra of these samples assign that the crystallographic phases are tetragonal system over the whole x range. The lattice volume was increased with increasing the substitution amount of the $Sr^{2+}$ ion. The mole ratio of the $Fe^{4+}$ ion to total iron ions or ${\tau}$ value has been determined by Mohr salt titration of the sample and then the y value was calculated from x and ${\tau}$ values. The ${\tau}$ and y values have been increased with x values. The nonstoichiometric chemical formula are formulated from the general formula of $Sr_{1+x}Ho_{1-x}Fe^3_{1-}\;^+_{\tau}Fe_{\tau}^{4+}O_{4-y}$ replaced by x,${\tau}$ and y values. Mossbauer spectra show the mixed valence state and coordination state of $Fe^{3+}\;and\;Fe^{4+}$ ions. It is found out that the magnetic property of the samples is paramagnetic at room temperature. Electrical conductivity varied within the semiconductivity range of 1.0 to 1 ${\times}\;10^{-9}{\Omega}^{-1}cm^{-1}$. Activation energy of the electrical conductivity was decreased with the $\tau$ value. The conduction mechanism should be explained by the hopping model of the conduction electrons between the valence states of $Fe^{3+}\;and\;Fe^{4+}$ ions.

Present silicon dioxide (SiOz) 떠m as intennetal dielectridIMD) layers will result in high parasitic c capacitance and crosstalk interference in 비gh density devices. Low dielectric materials such as f f1uorina뼈 silicon oxide(SiOF) and f1uoropolymer IMD layers have been tried to s이ve this problem. Low-barrier hydrogen bonds (LBHBs) have been proposed to have important influences on the enormous reaction rate increases achieved by many enzymes. ${\Delta}^5$-3-ketosteroi isomerase (KSI) catalyzes the allylic isomerization of ${\Delta}^5$-3-ketosteroid to its conjugated ${\Delta}^4$-isomers at a rate that approache the diffusion limit. Tyr14, a catalytic residue of KSI, has been hypothesized to form an LBHB with the oxyanion of a dienolate steroid intermediate generated during the catalysis. The unusual chemical shift of a proton at 16.8 ppm in the nuclear magnetic resonance spectrum has been attributed to an LBHB between Tyr14 $O{\eta}$ and C3-O of equilenin an intermediate analogue, in the active site of D38N KSI. This shift in the spectrum was not observed in Y30F/Y55F/D38N and Y30F/Y55F/Y115F/D38N mutant KSIs when each mutant was complexed with equilenin, suggesting that Tyr14 could not form LBHB with the intermediate analogue in these mutant KSIs. The crystal structure of Y30F/Y55F/Y115F/D38N-equilenin complex revealed that the distance between Tyr14 $O{\eta}$ and C3-O of the bound steroi was within a direct hydrogen bond. The conversion of LBHB to an ordinary hydrogen bond in the mutant KSI reduced the binding affinity for the steroid inhibitors by a factor of 8.1-11. In addition, the absence of LBHB reduced the catalytic activity by only a factor of 1.7-2. These results suggest that the amount of stabilization energy of the reaction intermediate provided by LBHB is small compared with that provided by an ordinary hydrogen bond in KSI.
RHEED apparatus which is one of the systems of surface structure analysis has been constructed.Electron beam is focused by means of magnetic lens, and the beam divergence is about $1{\times}10^{-3}$ rad. The Acceleration voltage of this RHEED apparatus is continuously variable from 0 to 20 kV. K and Cs-adsorbed structureson Si(111)$7{\times}7$ surface at room and high temperatures($200{\times}700^{\circ}C$) have been investigated by RHEED. It is observed that the K and Cs-adsorbed Si(111)surface structures at saturation coverage are Si(111)$7{\tiems}7-K$ and Si(111)$1{\tiems}1-Cs$ at room temperature, respectively. When the specimen temperature was elevated during evaporation, the $3{\times}1$ structure appears in the range of temperature between $300^{\circ}C$ and $550^{\circ}C$, and the $1{\tiems}1$ structure appears above $550^{\circ}C$ in K/Si(111)system. Also, in Cs/Si(111) system the $\sqrt{3}{\times}\sqrt{3}$ structure appears at $300^{\circ}C$, and the $\sqrt{3}{\times}\sqrt{3}+3{\times}1$ structure appears between $350^{\circ}C$ and $400^{\circ}C$.
The identification characteristics of irradiated commercial Ramen soup were investigated depending on radiation sources and doses by electron spin resonance (ESR) spectroscopy. Two commercial powder soups (RS-1, RS-2) were irradiated at 0 to 20 kGy under ambient conditions by both a Co-60 gamma irradiator and an electron beam (EB) accelerator, respectively. Crystalline sugar-induced multi-component signals with g-values of 2.010/2.011, 2.006, 2.002 and 1.999 were detected in the irradiated Ramen soup (RS-1, RS-2), whereas $Mn^{2+}$ signals were observed in non-irradiated samples, thereby distinguishing each other. Under the same analytical conditions, the intensity of ESR signals was higher in EB-irradiated samples than the gamma-irradiated ones. Determination coefficients ($R^2$) between irradiation doses and corresponding ESR responses were above 0.9665 in all the samples, and the magnetic field of specified g-value remained constant. The predominant ESR signals of $g_2$ (2.010-2.011) and $g_3$ (2.002) increased with corresponding doses of irradiation ($R^2$= 0.9750-0.9981).
Valence band photoemission spectroscopy (PES) measurements have been performed for $Co_{x}Pd_{100-x}$ alloy films using synchrotron radiation (x = 0, 25, 40, 65). Then the partial spectral weight distributions (PSW's) of Co 3d and Pd 4d electrons have been determined. The Co 3d PSW's exhibit some structures which are quite different from those of the Co film for x < 25 %, whereas they become very similar to those of the Co film for x > 40 %. For x < 25 %, the peak near the Fermi level ($E_F$) and a shoulder around 2 eV binding energy in the Co 3d PSW reflect large hybridization between Pd 4d and Co 3d electrons, suggesting that the hybridization might play an inportant role in determining perpendicualr magnetic anisotropy. The Pd 4d PSW's in Co-Pd alloy films are found to have larger FWHM's (full widths at half maximum), larger binding energies of the main peaks, and larger spectral intensities at $E_F$ than the PES spectrum of the Pd film. The FWHM of the Pd 4d PSW increases with decreasing Pd concentration, which are considered to reflect the disordering effect in the alloy formation or the change in the Pd 4d electronic structure due to hybridization between Co 3d and Pd 4d electrons.
Top synthetic spin valves wi th structure Ta/NiFe/CoFe/Cu/CoFe(Pl)/Ru/CoFe(P2)/FeMn/Ta on Si (100) substrate with SiO$_2$ of 1500 were prepared by dc magnetron sputtering system. We have changed only the thickness of the free layer and the thickness difference (Pl-P2) in the two ferromagnetic layers separated by Ru, and investigated the effect of magnetic film thickness on the GMR properties and the interlayer coupling field in a spin valve with a synthetic antiferromagnet. As thickness difference of pinned layer was decreased from +25 to -25 , MR ratio was decreased gradually. However, there was a dip zone indicating a big change of MR ratio around Pl = P2, which can be due to the large canting of pinned layers. The modified Neel model was suggested for the top synthetic spin valve to explain the interlayer coupling field according to the thickness change of ferromagnetic layers. The interlayer coupling field was decreased due to the magnetostatic coupling (orange peel coupling) as suggested by model. However, the interlayer coupling field was not explained at the dip zone by the modified Neel model. The deviation of modified Neel model at the dip zone could be due to the largely canting of the pinned layers as well, which depends on different thickness in synthetic antiferromagnetic structure.
