The nonlinear vibration analysis of a magneto-rheological elastomer (MRE) sandwich plate is conducted experimentally. Experiments have been performed in order to construct the frequency-response curves in the vicinity of the fundamental natural frequency of an MRE sandwich plate (plate A) in either the absence or presence of a localised external magnetic field at 3 different geometrical locations, for both small and medium magnetic fields. Furthermore, experiments have also been conducted on a pure aluminium plate (plate B) with an equal thickness to the MRE sandwich plate (plate A) in order to examine the influence of the MRE layer on the nonlinear dynamics of the system. An electrodynamic shaker was used to directly force each system and the displacement at the centre of the plate was measured. Meanwhile, permanent magnets were used to apply a localised magnetic field for the experiments where the MRE sandwich plate was subject to an external magnetic field. It was observed all the MRE systems displayed strong hardening-type nonlinear behaviour, however, with increasing magnetic field this behaviour transitioned to a weak hardening-type nonlinearity.
Magnetic $T_{c}$ of composite superconductors has been studied for providing a standard method. Various magnetization-temperature curves of NbTi, $Nb_3$Sn and Bi-2223 wires were measured using a SQUID magnetometer. Magnetization-temperature curve of zero-field-cooled procedure showed larger values than fie Id-cooled procedure. To obtain higher resolution near the onset temperature, we employed a two-field-direction method which measures a magnetization-temperature curve of a specimen first in positive and then negative fields. Analytical comparison of the magnetic $T_{c}$, with the resistive T$_{c}$ was accomplished for three specimens. The magnetic $T_{c}$/ mettled showed more detailed information on superconducting state of a specimen than the resistive$T_{c}$/ method. We have also studied the field dependence of the magnetic $T_{c}$ from 5 Oe to 120 Oe, however, no significant difference on field strength was found in our three specimensns

Fabrication and characterization of dye-sensitized TiO2 solar cells(DSSC) consisting of spray-coated TiO2 electrode, an electrolyte containing I-/I3- redox couple, and a Pt-coated counter electrode carried out, using mainly FE-SEM and solar simulator. Also, effect of rapid thermal annealing(RTA) temperatue on I-V curves of DSSCS consisting of approximately 10m thickness and $5{\times}5mm2$ active area. No significant difference in the apparent size of TiO2 clusters was observed with increasing RTA temperature. Also, an open circuit voltage(Voc) of approximately 0.70V and a short-circuit photocurrent(Jsc) of 8 to 12mA/cm2 were observed in the TiO2 solar cell. With increasing RTA temperature upto 550oC, photocurrent density of dye-sensitized solar cells was enhanced, leading to enhancing the efficiency of dye-sensitized solar cells having Pt-electroplated counter electrode.
Radio-frequency (RF) amplifiers based on direct current (DC) superconducting quantum interference device (SQUID) have low-noise performance for precision physics experiments. Gain curves of SQUID RF amplifiers depend on several parameters of the SQUID and operation conditions. We are developing SQUID RF amplifiers for application to measure very weak RF signals from ultra-low-temperature high-magnetic-field microwave cavity in axion search experiments. In this study, we designed, fabricated and characterized SQUID RF amplifiers with different SQUID parameters, such as number of input coil turn, shunt resistance value of the junction and coupling capacitance in the input coil, and compared the results.

In this paper, the measurements of ELF electric and magnetic fields due to double circuit 345[kV} transmission lines are made using planar-type electric field sensor and multitum loop-type magnetic field sensor, and the magnitudes of electric and magnetic fields are illustrated by a three-dimensional plot. Also, in order to predict the magnetic field strength with lad variation, a typical daily load current curves of the transmission lines are displayed because the magnetic field is changed with load current. experimental results of ELF electric and magnetic fields along center line versus lateral distance are compared with the theoretical values computed by using the FIELDS program. The electric field intensity in and around a transmission tower is lowered, and the greatest point of the magnetic field is shifted to the heavy load line but generally is given the trend that the peak value appear at the central part of the transmission tower. The magnitudes of the maximum electric and magnetic fields in the vicinity of a transmission tower are less than 3.5[kV/m] and $20[{\mu}T]$, respectively. The measured electric and magnetic fields are satisfied with limits and guidelines recommended by various authorized international institutes.
Purpose: To make a comparison of single voxel magnetic resonance spectroscopy (SV-MRS) and dynamic contrast enhancement (DCE) MRI for differentiation of benign and malignant breast lesions in a sample of Iranian women. Materials and Methods: A total of 30 women with abnormal breast lesions detected in mammography, ultrasound, or clinical breast exam were examined with DCE and SV-MRS. tCho (total choline) resonance in MRS spectra was qualitatively evaluated and detection of a visible tCho peak at 3.2 ppm was defined as a positive finding for malignancy. Different types of DCE curves were persistent (type 1), plateau (type 2), and washout (type 3). At first, lesions were classified according to choline findings and types of DCE curve, finally being compared to pathological results as the standard reference. Results: this study included 19 patients with malignant lesions and 11 patients with benign ones. While 63.6 % of benign lesions (7 of 11) showed type 1 DCE curves and 36.4% (4 of 11) showed type 2, 57.9% (11of 19) of malignant lesions were type 3 and 42.1% (8 of 19) type 2. Choline peaks were detected in 18 of 19 malignant lesions and in 3 of 11 benign counterparts. 1 malignant and 8 benign cases did not show any visible resonance at 3.2 ppm so SV-MRS featured 94.7% sensitivity, 72.7 % specificity and 86.7% accuracy. Conclusions: The present findings indicate that a combined approach using MRS and DCE MRI can improve the specificity of MRI for differentiation of benign and malignant breast lesions.
Recently, there has been growing interest in the assessment of physiological parameters on brain perfusion that provide more information than pure morphologic diagnosis. Quantification of parameters that characterize cerebral micro-circulation with magnetic resonance imaging is of great relevance for clinical application. We determine the local tissue concentration by exponential relationship between the relative signal reduction S(t)/$S_0$ and local tissue concentration of contrast material $C_m(t)$ in dynamic susceptibility contrast enhanced MR imaging. And then we made relative regional blood volume map by calculating the area under the measured concentration-time curves $C_m(t)$ during first pass of paramagnetic contrast material as a preliminary step for perfusion map. These images make it possible to compare the rCBV in different brain regions in one individual at a time. We have it in contemplation to obtain arterial and brain signal time curves simultaneously to make absolute rCBV and perfusion (rCBF) map. These maps may provide the method of comparative investigations of different patients having strong variation in AIF.

We conducted a statistical study of polar mesospheric summer echoes (PMSEs) in relation to magnetic local time (MLT), considering the geomagnetic conditions using the K-index (or K). Additionally, we performed a case study to examine the velocity profile, specifically for high velocities (≥ ~100 m/s) varying with high temporal resolution at high K-index values. This study utilized the PMSE data obtained from the mesosphere-stratosphere-troposphere radar located in Esrange, Sweden (63.7°N, 21°E). The change in K-index in terms of MLT was high (K ≥ 4) from 23 to 04 MLT, estimated for the time PMSE was present. During the near-midnight period (0-4 MLT), both PMSE occurrence and signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) displayed an asymmetric structure with upper curves for K ≥ 3 and lower curves for K < 3. Furthermore, the occurrence of high velocities peaked at 3-4 MLT for K ≥ 3. From case studies focusing on the 0-3 MLT period, we observed persistent eastward-biased high velocities (≥ 200 m/s) prevailing for ~18 min. These high velocities were accompanied with the systematic motion of profiles at 85-88 km, including large shear formation. Importantly, the rapid variations observed in velocity could not be attributed to neutral wind effects. The present findings suggest a strong substorm influence on PMSE, especially in the midnight and early dawn sectors. The large zonal drift observed in PMSE were potentially energized by local electromagnetic fields or the global convection field induced by the electron precipitation during substorms.
Ferromagnetic ${\tau}-phase$$Mn_{54}Al_{46}C_{2.44}$ particles were synthesized, and its composites with commercial $Sm_2Fe_{17}N_3$ and synthesized $Fe_{65}Co_{35}$ powders were fabricated. Smaller grain size than the single domain size of the $Mn_{54}Al_{46}C_{2.44}$ without obvious grain boundaries and secondary phases is the origin for the low intrinsic coercivity. It was confirmed that the magnetic properties of the $Mn_{54}Al_{46}C_{2.44}$ can be enhanced by magnetic exchange coupling with the hard magnetic $Sm_2Fe_{17}N_3$ and soft magnetic $Fe_{65}Co_{35}$. The high degrees of the exchange coupling were verified by calculating first derivative curves. Thermo-magnetic stabilities of the composites from 100 to 400 K were measured and compared. It was demonstrated that the $Mn_{54}Al_{46}C_{2.44}$ based composites containing $Sm_2Fe_{17}N_3$ and $Fe_{65}Co_{35}$ could be promising candidates for future permanent magnetic materials with the proper control of purity, magnetic properties, etc.

The discrete torque generation mechanism and inherently nonlinear magnetic characterization of switched reluctance motors lead to unacceptable torque ripples and limit the application of these motors. In this study, a phase current profiling technique and torque sharing function are proposed in consideration of magnetic saturation effects and by minimizing power loss in the commutation area between the adjacent phases. Constant torque trajectories are considered in incoming and outgoing phase current planes based on nonlinear T-i-theta curves obtained from experimental measurements. Optimum points on constant torque trajectories are selected by improving drive efficiency and minimizing copper loss in each rotor position. A novel analytic invertible function is introduced to express phase torque based on rotor position and its corresponding phase current. The optimization problem is solved by the proposed torque function, and optimum torque sharing functions are derived. A modification method is also introduced to enhance the torque ripple-free region based on simple logic rules. Compared with conventional torque sharing functions, the resultant reference current from the proposed method has less peak and effective values and exhibits lower copper loss. Experimental and simulation results from a four-phase 4 KW 8/6 SRM validate the effectiveness of the proposed method.
