애스터리스크(*) 배열구조 기반 전력저감 수배전반 (Asterisk(*) Array structure based power reduction power distribution board)

  • 오늘날 전력수요 급증에 따른 전력소비량이 증가하고 있어 전력손실을 줄일 수 있는 에너지 저감을 위한 설계 또는 설비 대체로 전력의 고품질화가 필요하다. 배전반이란 한전의 발전설비로부터 전기를 공급받아 각 건물에 필요한 설비에 계통별 또는 용도별로 나누어 주는 기계장치이다. 배전반은 일반적으로 외함, 개폐기, 전력용 도체, 제어부분으로 구성된다. 본 연구는 배전반내의 메인 요소인 통전을 위한 전력용 도체에 관한 것이다. 실효교류저항 측정시험을 통해 기존방식 판상도체의 수직 배열구조가 비효율적 구조임을 입증해 본다. 실효교류저항이 많이 증가하면 표피효과로 인해 상대적으로 도체의 단면적이 커지게 된다. 본 연구는표피효과를 줄여 실효교류저항을 최소화시키는 애스터리스크(*) 배열구조를 기반으로 설계하여 에너지 절약과 원자재 절감을 연구하였다. 본 연구의 핵심기술 원리는 애스터리스크 배열구조를 적용하여 도체저항 감소기술 기반 에너지 절감 수배전반이다. 수배전반의 교류전력 공급용 판상도체 각각(rst 또는 abc)의 상에서 발생한 자기장이 상호작용으로 상쇄 소멸될 수 있도록 한 판상도체 배열구조에 관한 것으로 효과로는 판상도체에서 유도성 리액턴스의 발생량이 줄어들면서 유효단면적이 증가, 실효교류저항을 줄인다.

  • We consider design factors for a SQUID sensor array to construct a 52-channel magnetocardiogram (MCG) system that can be used to measure tangential components of the cardiac magnetic fields. Nowadays, full-size multichannel MCG systems, which cover the whole signal area of a heart, are developed to improve the clinical analysis with high accuracy and to provide patients with comfort in the course of measurement. To design the full-size MCG system, we have to make a compromise between cost and performance. The cost is involved with the number of sensors, the number of the electronics, the size of a cooling dewar, the consumption of refrigerants for maintenance, and etc. The performance is the capability of covering the whole heart volume at once and of localizing current sources with a small error. In this study, we design the cost-effective arrangement of sensors for MCG by considering an adequate sensor interval and the confidence region of a tolerable localization error, which covers the heart. In order to fit the detector array on the cylindrical dewar economically, we removed the detectors that were located at the corners of the array square. Through simulations using the confidence region method, we verified that our design of the detector array was good enough to obtain whole information from the heart at a time. A result of the simulation also suggested that tangential-component MCG measurement could localize deeper current dipoles than normal-component MCG measurement with the same confidence volume; therefore, we conclude that measurement of the tangential component is more suitable to an MCG system than measurement of the normal component.

1-GFLOPS DSP를 이용한 자기공명영상 스펙트로미터 설계 (Design of MRI Spectrometer Using 1 Giga-FLOPS DSP)

  • 목적 : 기존의 일반적인 스펙트로미터보다 향상된 성능을 가진 새로운 스펙트로미터를 설계 및 제작하였다. 대상 및 방법 : 초당 10억번의 부동 연산 능력을 갖춘 TMS320C6701 DSP를 이용하여 연속적으로 변하는 복잡한 경사자계파형을 실시간으로 계산하여 출력할 수 있고, 선택 단면을 interactive하게 조절할 수 있는 스펙트로미터를 설계, 제작하였다. 설계된 스펙트로미터는 DSP 기반의 디지털 제어부와 파형을 만들고 변조 및 복조를 수행하는 아날로그부로 구성되어 있다 RF 신호의 변조 및 복조는 디지털 기술을 사용하여 정밀도와 안정성을 높였다. 고속 병렬영상을 위하여 하나의 측정 보드당 4채널까지 측정할 수 있도록 하였고, 고속 DSP를 이용하여 빠른 재구성이 가능하도록 하였다. 결과 : 제작된 스펙트로미터를 1.5 테슬라 전신자기공명영상 시스템에 장착하여 다양한 방법으로 성능을 시험하였다. 디지털 변조/복조 방식에서 요하는 정밀한 위상 제어를 확인할 수 있었고, phase array 코일 영상을 통하여 다중 채널 측정시스템의 성능을 검증할 수 있었다. 개발된 스펙트로미터를 기존의 상품화된 스펙트로미터와 비교해 볼때 보다 정밀한 위상 제어가 가능한 것으로 나타났다. 결론 : Interactive하게 영상의 단면을 선택하고, 실시간 계산에 의한 파형출력은 나선주사 심장영상과 같은 첨단의 영상기법에 요구되는 스펙트로미터의 기능이다 또한 다채널 측정시스템도 병렬영상을 위한 필수적인 기능이다. 본 논문에서는 초당 10억번의 부동소수점 연산이 가능한 TMS320C6701 디지털신호처리기를 사용하여 이러한 기능들을 가진 스펙트로미터를 설계, 제작하였다. 디지털 방식의 변조/복조 기술을 채택하여 정밀한 위상제어가 가능하였다. 개발된 스펙트로미터를 FSE, GE, angiography 등 다양한 영상방법에 적용하여 성능을 확인하였으며, 기존의 제품보다 뛰어난 화질의 영상을 얻을 수 있었다.

SOLAR MICROWAVE BURSTS AND ELECTRON KINETICS

  • Solar flares present a number of radiative characteristics indicative of kinetic processes of high energy particles. Proper understanding of the kinetic processes, however, relies on how well we can separate the acceleration from transport characteristics. In this paper, we discuss microwave and hard X-ray bursts as a powerful tool in investigating the acceleration and transport of high energy electrons. After a brief review of the studies devoted to the kinetic process of solar flare particles, we cast them into a simple formulation which allows us to handle the injection, trap, and precipitation of flare electrons self-consistently. The formulation is then taken as a basis for interpreting and analyzing a set of impulsive and gradual bursts occurred on 2001 April 6 observed with the Owens Valley Solar Array, and HXT/WBS onboard Yohkoh satellite. We quantify the acceleration, trap, and precipitation processes during each burst in terms of relevant time scales, and also determine ambient density and magnetic field. Our result suggests that it should be the acceleration property, in particular, electron pitch angle distribution, rather than the trap condition, that is mainly responsible for the distinctive properties of the impulsive and gradual flares.

  • This study shows the process design and forming analysis of permalloy shielding can that support the automobile multi-display parts to indicate the accurate information of car. This study is particularly important, since the strain and thickness of permalloy shielding can is known to affect the magnetic properties such as coercivity and permeability quite thickness of permalloy shielding can is known to affect the magnetic properties such as coercivity and permeability quite sensitively. The objective functions are strain and thickness deviation. The punch radius, die radius and blank holding force are considered as design parameters. Orthogonal array (OA) table and characteristics are applied to neural network (NN) as train data. After training, the optimal and robust condition of design parameters is selected. This study shows the correlation between the design methodology of NN and the statistical design of experiments (DOE) approach.

Levitation characteristics of HTS tape stacks

  • Due to the considerable development of the technology of second generation high-temperature superconductors and a significant improvement in their mechanical and transport properties in the last few years it is possible to use HTS tapes in the magnetic levitation systems. The advantages of tapes on a metal substrate as compared with bulk YBCO material primarily in the strength, and the possibility of optimizing the convenience of manufacturing elements of levitation systems. In the present report presents the results of the magnetic levitation force measurements between the stack of HTS tapes containing $n=2{\div}200$ of tapes $12mm{\times}12mm$ and NdFeB permanent magnet in the FC and ZFC regimes. It was found a non- linear dependence of the levitation force from the height of the array of stack in both modes: linear growth at small thickness gives way to flattening and constant at large number of tapes in the stack. Established that the levitation force of stacks comparable to that of bulk samples. The numerical calculations using finite element method showed that without the screening of the applied field the levitation force of the bulk superconductor and the layered superconductor stack with a critical current of tapes increased by the filling factor is exactly the same, and taking into account the screening force slightly different.

AAO를 이용한 Ni 나노구조체의 자기적 특징 (Magnetic Properties of Ni Nanostructures Made by using Nanoporous Anodic Alumina)

  • 나노크기의 기공을 갖는 AAO(Anodic Aluminum Oxide)를 이용하여 Si 기판 위에 열 증착 방식으로 Ni 나노구조체를 제작하였다. 제작된 나노구조체는 직경과 높이가 80nm정도로 거의 비슷한 원기둥 형태를 보였다. Ni 나노구조체의 자기적 특성은 광자기효과(Magneto-Optic Kerr effect)를 이용하여 측정하였고, 함께 성장시킨 박막(continuous film)과 비교하였다. 종횡비(aspect ratio)가 1 : 1 정도인 나노구조체의 자화용이축은 평면방향으로 자화용이축을 보이는 박막과는 달리 수직자기이방성을 보여주었으며, 수직 및 수평방향으로 자기장을 가하면서 얻은 자기이력곡선(hysteresis loop)으로부터 나노구조체의 포화자기장(saturation field)과 보자력(coercivity)이 박막과는 많은 차이를 보였다. 박막에서 거의 무시할 만한 값을 갖는 수직방향의 자기이력곡선에서 측정된 잔류자화(remanent magnetization) 나노구조체에서는 0.3으로 크게 증가했다.

INVESTIGATING PLASMA-PHYSICAL PROPERTIES OF JETS IN NEARBY RADIO-BRIGHT AGN WITH KVN AND KaVA

  • In this paper we introduce the Plasma Physics of Active Galactic Nuclei project, which is an ongoing experiment with Korean VLBI Network (KVN) and KVN and VERA Array (KaVA) to study multi-frequency polarimetric properties on parsec scales of active galaxies. The goal of the project is to improve our understanding of fundamental jet physics, especially evolution of the relativistic outflow coupled with the large-scale magnetic field. We selected six radio-loud AGN as our targets. So far we (i) detected resolved emissions regions at 86 and 129 GHz on VLBI scales, (ii) constructed 2D spectral index maps of the outflows, and (iii) found polarizations at 22 and 43 GHz for a few targets. Here we present spectral index distributions of 3C 120 between 22 and 43 GHz and a linear polarization map of BL Lac at 43 GHz obtained with KVN.

Structural ordering, electronic and magnetic properties of bundled $Mo_6S_9-_xI_x$ nanowires

  • We use ab initio density functional theory to determine the effect of bundling on the equilibrium structure, electronic and magnetic properties of $Mo_6S_{9-x}I_x$nanowires with x = 0, 3, 4.5, 6. Each unit cell of these systems contains two $Mo_6S_{6-x}I_x$ clusters connected by S3 linkages to form an ordered linear array. Due to the bi-stability of the sulfur linkages, the total energy of the nanowires exhibits typically many minima as a function of the wire length. We find that nanowires can switch over from metallic to semiconducting by applying axial stress. Structural order is expected in bundles with x=0 and x=6, since there is no disorder in the decoration of the Mo clusters. In bundles with other stoichiometries, we expect structural disorder to occur. We find the optimum inter-wire distance to depend sensitively on the orientation of the wires, but only weakly on x. It is also found that the electronic properties of nanowires are affected strongly due to bundling of nanowires exhibiting very unusual Fermi surfaces. Furthermore, ferromagnetic behaviors are observed in selected stable and many more unstable atomic arrangements in nanowire bundles.

제주도 만장굴에 대한 복합 지구물리탐사 기법의 적용 (Application of Mutiple Geophysical Methods in Investigating the Lava Tunnel of Manjanggul in Cheju Island)

  • Various geophysical methods have been applied to the survey of the lava tunnel of Manjanggul in Cheju Island to study the effectiveness of each method in investigating underground tunnels. The surveys employing gravity, magnetic, electrical, AMT and VLF methods were carried out along seven profiles across the Manjanggul; especially, all the five methods were used on one representative profile. Several aspects of different methods pertinent to their use in investigation of underground tunnels have been noted. The electrical method employing the dipole-dipole array appeared to be the most effective one among five methods. Therefore, we have tested the electrical method more carefully by using various electrode spacings, and obtained successful resistivity sections showing the existence of lava tunnels. The gravity method provided relatively successful responses associated with the tunnel although the gravity readings were contaminated by wind blowing during the survey. The gravity data were also useful for the quantitative modeling study. The magnetic data were also successful in delineating the tunnel qualitatively. The AMT data were not successful because the used frequency band was not appropriate in detecting very shallow target. The VLF data were severely influenced by the neighboring noise sources such as power lines and were not successful in detecting the tunnel responses. The comprehensive result of electrical, gravity and magnetic surveys suggests that undiscovered lava tunnels may exist adjacent to the Manjanggul.
