In this paper, we discussed, intelligent soft filter for MR(magnetoresistive) sensor. Most navigation systems today use some type of compass to determine heading direction. Using the earth's magnetic field, electronic compass based on MR(magnetoresistive) sensors can electrically resolve better then 0.1 degree rotation. Intelligent methode for soft building a one degree compass using MR(magnetoresistive) sensors will also be discussed. Compensation techniques are shown to correct for compass tilt angels and nearby ferrous material disturbances. we proved the fuzzy logic that based on the way the ham deals with inexact information is useful for MR sensors.

PMSMS (permanent magnet synchronous motors) are widely used in industrial applications and home appliances because of their high torque to inertia ratio, superior power density, and high efficiency. For high performance control, accurate informations about the rotor position is essential. Sensorless algorithms have lately been studied extensively due to the high cost of position sensors and their low reliability in harsh environments. A novel position sensorless speed control for PMSMs uses indirect flux estimation and is presented in this paper. Rotor position and angular velocity are estimated by the proposed indirect flux estimation. Linkage flux and magnetic field flux are calculated by the voltage equations and the measured phase current without any integration. Instead of linkage flux calculation with integral operation, indirect flux and differential magnetic field are used for the estimation of rotor position. A proper rejection technique fur current noise effect in the calculation of differential linkage flux is introduced. The proposed indirect flux detecting method is free from the integral rounding error and linkage flux drift problem, because differential linkage flux can be calculated without any integral operation. Furthermore, electrical parameters of the PMSM can be measured by the proposed TCM (time compression method) for soft starting and precise estimation of rotor position. The position estimator uses accurate electrical parameters that are obtained from the proposed TCM at starting strategy. In the operating region, a proper compensation method fur temperature effect can compensate fir the estimation error from the variation of electrical parameters. The proposed novel position sensorless speed control scheme is verified by the experimental results.

This paper describes a method to steer an autonomous electric vehicle using magnetic fields. Magnets are embeded along the center of the road and a magneto-resistive sensor is mounted beneath the front bumper of the vehicle. As the vehicle moves along the road neural network controller controls the vehicle using measured magnetic field variation. Based on a single magnets modeling equation, we analyzed three dimensional magnetic field distributions of embeded magnets in series on the center of the road and performed a computer simulation using this results. In simulation study, straight and curved road was configured. The steering controller for the vehicle was designed using neural network and experiment was performed on the real embeded magnets using real autonomous electric vehicle. At the experiment we compensated the earth's magnetic fields and showed a good result driving an autonomous vehicle using proposed method.

To get the spatial feature of arterial pulse, we designed spatial pulse diagnostic apparatus (SPDA) using a 2-dimensional magnetoresistive sensor array. The magnetic field distribution fur magnet may was simulated using finite element method. We recognized that the field distribution of parallel magnet mays was more sensitive and uniformed than that of perpendicular one. Also the spatial displacements of magnet array were agreed with the output signal of magnetic tunnel junction (MTJ) sensor array.
Smartphone-based localization has been widely studied in many different scenarios. But as far as we know, few work has addressed the problem of localization in underground public transportation systems, where GPS signal and wireless infrastructure are not always available. Knowing the location of a train is necessary to develop a useful service for subway passengers. And so, estimation of motion state and stop station by using sensors on a smartphone is being studied for subway passengers. This paper proposes a localization method that uses a barometer and a magnetic sensor on a smartphone. The method proposed in this paper first estimates whether the train runs or stops according to the change in air pressure and the strength of the magnetic field. The altitude value and the magnetic field value are then used to estimate the exact stop station of the train. We evaluated the proposed method using data from the Seoul's subway line 5. Compared with previous methods, the proposed method achieves higher accuracy.

Recently, many electronic devices have been integrated with various kinds of wireless sensor network technologies that have been enabled with wireless network connections. These wireless sensor network devices have adopted various kinds of wireless network technologies. On the other hand, because each wireless network technology has its advantages and disadvantages, the target and purposes should be considered carefully at the beginning of the development. In particular, the approach to the magnetic sensor should be considered carefully because it has its own characteristic compared to general sensors. The magnetic field generates nonlinear data. This paper introduces the design aspects to reflect low cost and wearable devices to use in a wireless sensor network. In addition, this paper addresses how to select proper sensor network technology. As a result, wireless sensor network devices were integrated using Zigbee and showed the performance of the throughput.
Iron oxides currently attract considerable attention due to their potential applications in the fields of lithiumion batteries, bio-medical sensors, and hyperthermia therapy materials. Magnetite (Fe3O4) is a particularly interesting research target due to its low cost, good biocompatibility, outstanding stability in physiological conditions. Hydrothermal synthesis is one of several liquid-phase synthesis methods with water or an aqueous solution under high pressure and high temperature. This paper reports the growth of magnetic Fe3O4 particles from iron powder (spherical, <10 ㎛) through an alkaline hydrothermal process under the following conditions: (1) Different KOH molar concentrations and (2) different synthesis time for each KOH molar concentrations. The optimal condition for the synthesis of Fe3O4 using Fe powders is hydrothermal oxidation with 6.25 M KOH for 48 h, resulting in 89.2 emu/g of saturation magnetization at room temperature. The structure and morphologies of the synthesized particles are characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD, 2θ = 20°-80°) with Cu-kα radiation and field emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM), respectively. The magnetic properties of magnetite samples are investigated using a vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM). The role of KOH in the formation of magnetite octahedron is observed.
We have designed and fabricated the YBCO single layer directly-coupled SQUID magnetometers for the purpose of magnetocardiography in a magnetically disturbed environment. The SQUID magnetometers were designed three different types of pickup coil such as solid type, PL type I and PL type II for further stable fluxed-locked-loop operation without magnetic shielding. Magnetometer was fabricated with a single layer YBCO thin film deposited on STO(100) bicrystal substrate with misorientation angle of $30^{\circ}$. We have achieved a magnetic field noise BN of 30 fT/$Hz^{1/2}$ at 100 Hz, and less than 70 fT/$Hz^{1/2}$ at 1 Hz. The PL type II SQUIDs have exhibited the most stable fluxed-locked-loop operation in a magnetically unshielded environment.

In this paper, MEMS embedded system design implemented the sensor events via analyzing the characteristics that dynamically happened to an abnormal status in power IoT environments in order to guarantee a maintainable operation. We used three kinds of tools in this paper, at first Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) technology which is a suitable protocol that provides a low data rate, low power consumption, and low-cost sensor applications. Secondly LSM6DSOX, a system-in-module containing a 3-axis digital accelerometer and gyroscope with low-power features for optimal motion. Thirdly BM1422AGMV Digital Magnetometer IC, a 3-axis magnetic sensor with an I2C interface and a magnetic measurable range of ±120 uT, which incorporates magneto-impedance elements to detect the magnetic field when the current flowed in the power devices. The proposed MEMS system was developed based on an nRF5340 System on Chip (SoC), previously compared to the standalone embedded system without bluetooth technology via mobile App. And also, MEMS embedded system with BLE 5.0 technology broadcasted the MEMS system status to Android mobile server. The experiment results enhanced the performance of MEMS system design by combination of sensors, BLE technology and mobile application.

Optical fibre sensors have shown a potential to serve real time health monitoring of the structures. They can be easily embedded or attached to the structures and are not affected by the electro-magnetic field. Furthermore, they have the flexibility of the sensor size and very highly sensitive. In this study, we conducted several laboratory and field tests using a novel optical sensor based on Brillouin scattering. One of the advantages of this technique is that the bare fibre itself acts as sensing element without any special fibre processing or preparation. Test results have shown that BOTDR can be a great solution for sensor systems of Civil Engineering Smart Structures.
