초전도 에너지 저장 기술에 대한 고찰 (A Consideration on the Superconductivity Energy Storage Technology)

  • 최근, 전력산업에서는 지구 온난화에 대비하여 에너지 이용 효율 극대화하기 위한 방안으로 초전도 에너지 저장 장치에 큰 관심을 가지고 있다. 초전도 에너지 저장장치는 비 첨두시에 대량의 전기에너지를 손실 없이 자계 또는 운동 에너지의 형태로 저장하였다가 첨두시에 이를 다시 전기에너지로 변환하여 사용함으로서 피크부하의 균등화 및 순간정전 보상을 실현, 전기 에너지 이용 효율의 극대화를 기할 수 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 초전도 에너지 저장기술에 대한 개념, 연구개발 현황 및 그 적용 사례 등을 조사, 분석하여, 전력계통 적용 기반기술을 확립하고자 한다.

Control the length of beam trajectory with a quadruple triplet for heavy ion accelerator

  • Beam trajectory is needed to be controlled in heavy ion accelerator system. Quadruple magnets are widely used in heavy ion accelerator for focusing the transporting particles. A quadruple triplet system which consists of three consecutive quadrupoles, Q1, Q2 and Q3, is used to control beam trajectory at a focused position. Q1 and Q3 have symmetry with respect to Q2. The beam trajectory in magnet system is affected by higher order fields existed in real fields. For quadrupoles, the representation simulation of beam trajectory was carried out to study the beam trajectory and to estimate an effect of higher order field in triplet system. SCALA program was used to simulate the beam trajectory in $Opera^{TM}$. SCALA can analyze a large number of beam trajectories at the same time by adjusting the size of finite element of the emitter. With $Opera^{TM}$ and $Matlab^{TM}$ programs, the position of focused beam spot in quadruple triplet system can be increased or decreased using evolution strategy (ES) method, therefore the length of triplet system can be controlled. Finally, the quadruple triplet system with the appropriate length and expected beam spot range was suggested in this paper.

  • Conventional water treatment facilities like precipitation process need large-scale equipment and wide space to purify the wastewater of paper factory. In case of massive waste water, high gradient magnetic separation (HGMS) parts are more effective to purify it rapidly and to occupy relatively small space, since large voids at filter with HGMS are adopted. Cryo-cooled Nb-Ti superconducting magnet with room temperature bore in diameter of 100 mm and 600 mm in height was used for magnetic separator. Magnetic filters were designed by the analysis of magnetic field distribution at superconducting magnets.

자력을 이용한 하이브리드 고무 마운트 (Hybrid Rubber Mount by Using Magnetic Force)

  • This paper presents a hybrid rubber mount with magnet to isolate effectively the vibration in vehicle, forklift, and so on. The hybrid mount does not have any controller of the magnetic force. Dynamic stiffness of the mount is reduced by only magnetic suction according to the applied magnetic field and damping coefficient increased. Performance of conventional rubber mount with using electromagnet has been investigated by MTS Tester. The governing equation of the hybrid mount was derived and verified by comparison with experimental and theoretical results. The equation can be used practically and usefully in the design of the mount and analysis of the mounting system. The hybrid mount provides excellent performance in vibration isolation and its structure is very simpler than active with controller and a semi-active mount with a functional fluid. Furthermore, production cost of the mount using permanent magnets is very lower than that of the active mount with electromagnets. Therefore, commercial potential of the mount is very high.

  • This paper describes a development of traction unit for 2-motor driven electric vehicle (EV). The traction unit is consisted with an interior permanent magnet synchronous motor (IPMSM), a reduction gear and an inverter for electric vehicle that is driven by 2 motors without differential gear. For traction unit, prototype IPMSM and inverter have been developed. The IPMSM was designed by CAD program that was developed with both equivalent circuit method and FEM. Also the inverter was developed to drive 2 motors with 6 legs IGBT switches in a control board. The vector control algorithm was implemented with maximum torque control method in the constant torque region and field weakening control method in the constant power region considering inverter capacity. To verify that the traction unit is more high efficiency and has more high power density than a traction unit with induction motor with the same power, we would like to show the results about the design and analysis of the IPMSM and the experiment results about the traction unit.

  • In this paper, we are studied a electrical properties study with P.D.GEORGE/STER LING Co. P.B 302-LV-2 POLYBUTADIENE RESIN which is used for VPI(Vacuum Pressure Impregnation)processing of field magnet and armature of traction motor in Korean national railroad at present was carried out its FT-IR (Fourier Transform Infra-Red) volume resistivity characteristics. The varnishes were experimented with the temperature range form $25[^{\circ}C]$ to $180[^{\circ}C]$ and applied voltage were supplied at 100, 250, 500, 1,000[V]. In this condition, the volume resistivity for specimens were measured. From the above study, the following data obtained for volume resistivity. It can be confirmed that velume resistivity with the increase of temperature is lower rapidly from room temperature to $130[^{\circ}C]$, and it is lower slowly at temperature higher than $130[^{\circ}C]$. Volume resistivity value is higher, according as the specimen is thick gradually. As the applied voltage is higher in the same temperature, volume resistivity value is lower.

영구자석형 조작기를 갖는 진공차단기의 동적거동 (Dynamic Behavior of Vacuum Circuit Breaker with Permanent Magnetic Actuator)

  • A vacuum circuit breaker (VCB) with permanent magnet actuator (PMA) has been studied in this study. Electromagnetic field analysis and dynamic simulations have been carried out for optimal design of VCB by using commercial software Maxwell and ADAMS. This simulation model can be an effective method for the VCB, which has non-linear output force of PMA, friction, and impact for operations. An experiment has been conducted to evaluate correctness of the simulated model. By using this evaluated model, the displacement and velocity characteristics of the VCB have been simulated with following conditions : (1) The different output forces of PMA have been applied, (2) The friction conditions in follow lever shaft and moving part have been changed, (3) The mass conditions of moving part have been changed. The simulated results shows that the velocity characteristics are mainly determined by the output force of PMA. The effects due to the changes of friction conditions against the dynamic characteristics was small, and the mass conditions of the moving parts affect the velocity and a bouncing phenomenon of VCB. From these results, the optimal design conditions for the VCB have been derived.

자성유체를 이용한 점성댐퍼에서의 진동특성에 관한 실험연구 (An Experimental Study on the Vibration Characteristics in Viscous Damper using Magneticfluid)

  • The aim this study is to provide fundamental informations for the development of magneticfluid damper. To achieve the aim. the damping effect of magneticfluid is investigated by experiments that the diameter of inner circular bar and the input amplitude vary in the magnetic field generated by the permanent magnet and the electromagnet. From the study, the following conclusive remarks can be made. As the diameter of inner circular bar and the input amplitude increase. the damping effect is improved. And we can know that as the contact area between inner circular bar and magneticfluid increases, damping ratio is improved. Also we consider the cases that there is magnetism generated by electromagnet and DC voltage is supplied to electromagnet from 10V to 50V by 10V. In these cases, the amplitude ratio decreases sharply from 1.8 1.0 And for these cases, the damping ratio is .745.

상온 능동형 자기 재생 냉동기의 개발 (Development of the active magnetic regenerative refrigerator for room temperature application)

  • In this paper, an investigation of a room temperature active magnetic regenerative refrigerator is carried out. Experimental apparatus includes two active magnetic regenerators containing 186 g of Gd spheres. Four E-type thermocouples are installed inside the Active magnetic regenerator(AMR) to observe the instantaneous temperature variation of AMR. Both warm and cold heat exchangers are designed for large temperature span. The cold heat exchanger, which separates the two AMRs, employs a copper tube with length of 80 mm and diameter of 6.35 mm. In order to minimize dead volume between the warm heat exchanger and AMRs, the warm heat exchangers are located close to the AMRs. The deionized water is used as a heat transfer fluid, and maximum 1.4 T magnetic field is supplied by Halbach array of permanent magnets. The AMR plate, which contains the warm and the cold heat exchangers and the AMRs, has reciprocating motion using a linear actuator and each AMR is alternatively magnetized and demagnetized by a Halbach array of permanent magnet. Since the gap of the Halbach array of permanent magnets is 25 mm and two warm heat exchangers have the motion through it, a compact printed circuit heat exchanger (PCHE) is used as a warm heat exchanger. A maximum no-load temperature span of 26.8 K and a maximum cooling power of 33 W are obtained from the fabricated Active Magnetic Regenerative Refrigerator (AMRR).

Levitation characteristics of HTS tape stacks

  • Due to the considerable development of the technology of second generation high-temperature superconductors and a significant improvement in their mechanical and transport properties in the last few years it is possible to use HTS tapes in the magnetic levitation systems. The advantages of tapes on a metal substrate as compared with bulk YBCO material primarily in the strength, and the possibility of optimizing the convenience of manufacturing elements of levitation systems. In the present report presents the results of the magnetic levitation force measurements between the stack of HTS tapes containing $n=2{\div}200$ of tapes $12mm{\times}12mm$ and NdFeB permanent magnet in the FC and ZFC regimes. It was found a non- linear dependence of the levitation force from the height of the array of stack in both modes: linear growth at small thickness gives way to flattening and constant at large number of tapes in the stack. Established that the levitation force of stacks comparable to that of bulk samples. The numerical calculations using finite element method showed that without the screening of the applied field the levitation force of the bulk superconductor and the layered superconductor stack with a critical current of tapes increased by the filling factor is exactly the same, and taking into account the screening force slightly different.
