인간-기계 인터페이스 및 증강현실 기술의 항공운항 분야 적용 (Application of Human Machine Interface and Augmented Reality Technology to Flight Operation)

  • The primary objective of this paper is to introduce the application of Human-Machine Interface (HMI) and Augmented Reality (AR) technologies in flight operations. These include: self-check-in, baggage handling, airport security and surveillance, airport operations monitoring, In-Flight Entertainment and Connectivity (IFEC), cockpit design, and cabin crew support. This paper investigates the application status and development trends of HMI and AR technologies for airports and aircraft. These technologies can provide more efficient in-flight passenger service and experience by using AR devices. This paper also discusses the developments such as; the Integrated Control Application (ICA) for the IFEC interface, AR flight simulation training program using the fixed-based simulator, and the AR aircraft cabin interior concept test program. These applications present how HMI and AR techniques can be utilized in actual flight operations. The developed programs in this paper can be applied to their purpose within aircraft interiors and services to enhance efficiency, comfort, and experience.

  • This research presents a fuel cell simulator for control logic verification and operator training. Nowadays, power industries are focusing on clean energy as a response to new policy. The fuel cell can be the solution for clean energy, but operating technology is not well developed compared to other conventional power plans because of its short history. Therefore we need a simulator to verify the new control strategy and train operators, because the price of a real fuel cell system is too high and mechanically weak to be used for these kind of purposes. To develop the simulator, a 300 KW MCFC(Molten Carbonate Fuel Cell) system was modeled with stack, BOPs(pre-reformer, steam generator, etc) and mechanical components(valves, pipes, pumps, blowers, etc). The process model was integrated to emulated control system and HMI(Human Machine Interface). A static load and open loop tests were conducted for verifying the accuracy of the process model, since it is the most important part in the simulation. After verifying the process model, an automatic load change and start-up tests were conducted to verify the performance of a new control strategy(logic and functional loops).

Design and Implementation of an FPGA-based Real-time Simulator for a Dual Three-Phase Induction Motor Drive

  • This paper presents a digital hardware implementation of a real-time simulator for a multiphase drive using a field-programmable gate array (FPGA) device. The simulator was developed with a modular and hierarchical design using very high-speed integrated circuit hardware description language (VHDL). Hence, this simulator is flexible and portable. A state-space representation model suitable for FPGA implementations was proposed for a dual three-phase induction machine (DTPIM). The simulator also models a two-level 12-pulse insulated-gate bipolar transistor (IGBT)-based voltage-source converter (VSC), a pulse-width modulation scheme, and a measurement system. Real-time simulation outputs (stator currents and rotor speed) were validated under steady-state and transient conditions using as reference an experimental test bench based on a DTPIM with 15 kW-rated power. The accuracy of the proposed digital hardware implementation was evaluated according to the simulation and experimental results. Finally, statistical performance parameters were provided to analyze the efficiency of the proposed DTPIM hardware implementation method.

  • 최근 국내 이동통신사들의 차세대 성장 동력으로 사물지능통신 (Machine to Machine, M2M)이 주목받고 있다. 따라서 그 쓰임새와 활용도가 각종 분야로 점점 넓어지고 있으며, 기존의 통신에 비해 사용되는 단말의 수가 점점 증가하게 되면서 사물마다 전송되는 정보들의 수도 증가하고 있다. 각 그룹별로 나누어진 단말로부터 전송하는 각각의 데이터가 이동통신망을 이용하는데 있어 트래픽이 한계상황에 도달하게 된다면 M2M 통신의 서비스 처리를 원활하게 하지 못하는 상황이 발생 할 수 있다. 본 연구는 M2M 통신에서 사용하게 될 이동통신망이 한계점에 도달했을 때 M2M 서비스의 원활한 처리를 위해 Knapsack Problem 알고리즘을 이용하여 가상의 시뮬레이터를 구현하였다. 가상의 시뮬레이터는 각각의 장비 그룹별로 데이터가 들어오게 되면 이동통신망에서 우선적으로 처리해야 될 M2M 통신의 서비스의 처리부터 나중에 처리 될 서비스까지 원활한 처리방법을 위해 구현하였으며, M2M 기술이 더욱 발전하게 되어 점차 소형화 되는 사물들이 많아짐에 따라, 폭증하게 될 이동통신망에서 M2M 서비스를 처리하는 것이 원활하도록 도움을 줄 것이다.

시뮬레이션 훈련이 뇌졸중 환자의 균형 능력에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Horse-back riding Simulation Machine Training on Balance ability in Patients with Stroke)

  • Purpose : Investigate the effects of Horse-back riding Simulation Machine training on the Balance ability in Patients with Stroke. Method : The patients were divided to control group(n=18) with conventional rehabilitation conventional rehabilitation 60min/day and experimental group(n=17) with hippotherapy simulator 15 min/day after conventional rehabilitation 45min/day, 5 time/week for 4 weeks. Balance ability of both groups was assessed using Timed Up and Go(TUG), Berg balabce scale(BBS) and Center of pressure area(COPA). In the present result, there was a no significant(P>0.05) Results : The results of this study showed that Horse-back riding Simulation Machine training, after training, had meaningful difference of TUG, BBS and COPA. Conclusion : This study showed that Horse-back riding Simulation Machine training increased balance ability that resulted in enhancement of motor performance.

FOTA 기반 지능형 자동차를 위한 범용 ECU 시뮬레이터 설계 및 구현 (The Design and Implementation of ECU Simulator for the Smart Vehicle based on FOTA)

  • 본 논문은 FOTA 기반의 지능형 자동차를 위한 범용 ECU 시뮬레이터의 설계 및 개발에 대해 서술한다. 특정 목적용이 아닌 범용적인 ECU 시뮬레이터를 하드웨어와 소프트웨어 플랫폼 두 부분으로 나눠 설계 및 개발 한다. 하드웨어는 32bit Atmel AVR의 코어를 장착하고 CAN/LIN 인터페이스 그리고 사용자를 위한 LCD화면과 터치 버튼을 설계하여 범용적인 지능형 자동차용 ECU의 조건을 만족시켰다. 소프트웨어는 설계/개발된 하드웨어의 모든 기능들을 지원하면서도 데이터를 효율적으로 처리하기 위하여 FSM의 구조로 개발했다. 설명된 방법으로 개발된 ECU 시뮬레이터의 유효성 검증을 위해 자동 업데이트 시스템의 데이터를 전달해주는 ECU 관리자를 추가 개발하여 테스트를 진행했다. 실험을 위하여 ECU와 DM간 상호 통신이 가능한 총 4가지의 시나리오를 지정해 업데이트 과정을 포함한 테스트를 진행했고, 결과적으로 모든 시나리오에서 ECU 시뮬레이터로서 동작의 유효성을 확인할 수 있었다.

임베디드 코어 설계시 효율적인 설계 공간 탐색을 위한 컴파일드 코드 방식 시뮬레이터 생성 시스템 구축 (Construction of a Compiled-code Simulator Generation System for Efficient Design Exploration in Embedded Core Design)

  • 본 논문은 어플리케이션에 최적화된 임베디드 시스템 설계에 있어 효율적인 설계 공간을 탐색할 수 있도록 머신 기술 언어를 기반으로 한 컴파일드 코드 방식 시뮬레이터 생성 시스템을 제안한다. 제안된 시스템 event-driven 시뮬레이션의 융통성을 유지하면서 많은 시뮬레이션 시간을 소요하는 인스트럭션 펫치와 디코딩 과정을 정적으로 결정하여 빠른 수행시간을 갖는 컴파일드 코드 방식 시뮬레이터를 생성한다. 생성된 시뮬레이터는 임베디드 코어의 성능 측정을 위한 사이클 수준과 인스트럭션 수준의 시뮬레이션을 가진다. 구축된 컴파일드 코드 방식 시뮬레이터 생성기의 효율성을 확인하기 위해 JPEG 인코더 어플리케이션에 대한 아키텍처 탐색을 수행하였다. 제안된 시스템은 MIPS R3000 프로세서의 초기 임베디드 코어로 시작하여 어플리케이션에 최적화된 임베디드 코어를 얻어내었다. 이 과정에서 많은 시뮬레이션 시간이 요구되었다. 사이클 수준 컴파일드 코드 빙식 시뮬레이터는 event-driven 시뮬레이션의 정확성을 가지며 평균 21.7%의 향상된 시뮬레이션의 수행 속도를 보인다.

Compaction Simulator Study on Pectin Introducing Dwell Time

  • Although many scientists have used pectin, its feasibility in terms of tablet manufacturability with a high speed machine has never been evaluated. Therefore, compactibility of different pectin types for large scale tableting operation has been evaluated. The compactibility behavior of powder pectins was studied by a compaction simulator. It was found that pectin on its own does not produce tablets of acceptable quality even at a punch velocity as low as 20 rpm (e.g. low tensile strengths, capping and lamination irrespective of applied compression force). Thus, dwell time was introduced and more hard compact was produced as relaxation time in die increases. It was concluded that frequent structural failure observed in both pectin types was due to lack of plastic deformation, poor compactibility and high elastic recovery.

  • Several simulation techniques have been developed which are not practical deformation processes but are designed to embody specific tribological aspects. Sliding rolling type friction test machine (Cold rolling tribosimulator) was developed to simulate the tribological phenomena at the roll bite in real mill by laboratory scale. A rolled material is fed at a low speed of Max. 1/20 to that of roll speed, so as to obtain simultaneous plastic deformation in the material during rotation of the rolls in simulator. New cold rolling tribe-simulator is effective for evaluation of the lubricity of lubricant in cold rolling process.

  • Control systems in machinery equipment provide correction signals to motion units in order to reduce or cancel out the mismatches between sensor feedback signals and command or desired values. In this paper, we introduce a simulator for control characteristics of machinery equipment. The purpose of the simulator development is to provide mechanical system designers with the ability to estimate how much dynamic performance can be achieved from their design parameters and selected devices at the designing phase. The simulator has a database for commercial parts, so that the designers can choose appropriate components for servo controllers, motors, motor drives, and guide ways, etc. and then tune governing parameters such as controller gains and friction coefficients. The simulator simulates the closed-loop control system which is built and parameter-tuned by the designer and shows dynamic responses of the control system. The simulator treats the moving table as a 6 degrees-of-freedom rigid body and considers the motion guide blocks stiffness, damping and their locations as well as sensor locations. The simulator has been under development for one and a half years and has a few years to go before the public release. The primary achievements and features will be presented in this paper.
