  • In this paper, a new method to estimate the number of MU (motor unit) related to the widths and distribution of end plate in NMJ (neuromuscular junction) of biceps brachii is proposed by varying muscle parameter statistically in EMG model. This work is done by designing MU-simulator and EPZ-simulator. The proposed method was compared with the results of previous researchers. The proposed MU-simulator generates SMUAP (single motor unit action potential) and CMAP (compound muscle action potential) signal similar to detected SMUAP and CMAP signal obtained from muscle. The EPZ-simulator estimate the numbers of MU by varying the widths and distribution of end plate in neuromuscular junction of muscle. The results shows that the numbers of MU was estimated about 450 ea. and muscle fibers was about 340 ea., end plate widths was about 6 mm, and end plate was randomly distributed. The proposed method may be comparable with the method of anatomical studies.

  • Generally, the principle function of simulator control loading system is to provide the pilot or student with the "feel" of the actual aircraft flight control systems during flight, taxing, and in malfunction. Flight control "feel" is the resistance felt by the pilot when moving a control stick or pedal, coupled with the amount of control surface deflection, and hence aircraft response, resulting from the input. Therefore, the control loading servo must be capable of performing to some general list of requirements derived from real aircraft control forces. In this paper, we deal with a $\mu-controller$ design for a control loading system of the flight simulator. For this, we derive a frequency response of the hydraulic system from the identification data and then design a controller using a $\mu-synthesis$ method. Under the same condition of simulation, $\mu-controller$ provides the superior performance than PID controller.than PID controller.

  • In this study, we present a novel method for estimating the information of MU(motor unit) which is the basic element of human muscle by using surface EMG. Some of the method developed in this field could only estimate the numbers of MU that is activated. However, in our study the MU-simulator based on the line source model was designed to estimate the MU information including the numbers of MU and muscle fiber, conduction velocity, MU diameter, fiber diameter, and end plate position. The SMUAP(single motor unit action potential) detector was designed and CMAP(compound muscle action potential) by electrical stimulus was recorded. With these data, the MU-simulator can estimate the MU information by varying muscle paramater settings through MSE(mean square error) method. Our results shows that the proposed method can be comparable with the method of anatomical studies. Moreover, our system can be utilized to build a tool for diagnosis and treatment assessment of neuromuscular patients.

  • This paper describes the development of integrated simulator for traction power supply system with GUI (Graphic User Interface). This simulator consists of a lot of calculation modules such as TPS, time table, line constant, and power supply system analysis. Each module has input and output structure respectively. The proposed simulator is tested on both high speed railway line and metropolitan subway line. The test has confirmed the function of the developed simulator.

  • The wear of engine valve and seat insert is one of the most important factors which affect engine performance. Because of higher demands on performance and the increasing use of alternative fuel, engine valve and seat insert are challenged with greater wear problems than in the past. In order to solve the above problems, a simulator was developed to be able to generate and control high temperatures and various speeds during motion. The wear simulator is considered to be a valid simulation of the engine valve and seat insert wear process with various speeds during engine activity. This work focuses on the different degrees of wear at three different singular test speeds (10 Hz, 25 Hz & multi-Hz). For this study, the temperature of the outer surface of the seat insert was controlled at 350$^{\circ}C$, and the test load was 1960 N. The test cycle number was $6.0{\times}10^6$. The mean ($\pm$standard error) wear depth of the valve at 10 Hz and 25 Hz was 45.1 ($\pm$3.7)$\mu$m and 81.7 ($\pm$2.5)$\mu$m, respectively. The mean wear depth of the seat insert at 10 Hz and 25 Hz was 52.7 ($\pm$3.9)$\mu$m and 91.2 ($\pm$2.7)$\mu$m, respectively. In the case of multi-Hz it was 70.7 ($\pm$2.4)$\mu$m and 77.4 ($\pm$3.8)$\mu$m, respectively. It was found that higher speed (25 Hz) cause a greater degree of wear than lower speed (10 Hz) under identical test condition (temperature, valve displacement, cycle number and test load). In the wear mechanisms of valves, adhesive wear, shear strain and abrasive wear could be observed. Also, in the wear mechanisms of seat inserts, adhesive wear, surface fatigue wear and abrasive wear could be observed.

  • In this paper, the authors have implemented a blood flow simulator and a blood flowmeter probe using self-mixing effect of the laser diode. The purpose of the blood simulator is to simulate microvascular blood flow in tissue. It consists of melinex film (thickness = $125{\mu}m$) which has similar optical characteristics to epidermis and porous polyethylene filter (Vyon, porosity 35%, mean pore size $50{\mu}m$, thickness=1 mm) which has similar optical characteristics to dermis. The blood flowmeter probe consists of laser diode(5 mW, 780 nm wavelength), CD lens(focal lenght 12 mm), current-to-voltage converter, highpass filter, and preamplifier. It doesn't need optical fiber, therefore, implementation of the probe is simpler than conventional probe using optical fiber.

  • A full two-dimensional MOSFET simulator utilizing the Mixed Particle Monte Carlo method is introduced. Particle simulation for both electrons and holes are self-consistently coupled with Poisson 's equation. To demonstrate the performance of the simulator, steady state and transient state solutions of the terminal characteristics and the internal physical quantities are obtained for 0.25$\mu$m MOSFETs with three different structures` conventional single drain, LDD and GOLD MOSFET structures.

  • To estimate the finger dose absorbed by $^{99m}Tc$ injection, simulations are carried out to calculate the dose equivalent of each finger per second with radioactivity of 370 MBq, based on the GEANT4 simulator. For the $^{99m}Tc$ source of the volume of 0.4mL and the radioactivity of 370 MBq, we obtained the dose equivalent of the right thumb ($0.29\;{\mu}Sv{\cdot}sec^{-1}$), the right index finger ($1.19\;{\mu}Sv{\cdot}sec^{-1}$), the right middle finger ($1.07\;{\mu}Sv{\cdot}sec^{-1}$), the left thumb ($4.36\;{\mu}Sv{\cdot}sec^{-1}$), and the left index finger ($3.37\;{\mu}Sv{\cdot}sec^{-1}$), respectively. This simulation results may serve as a useful data in the prediction of finger dose absorbed by $^{99m}Tc$ injection.

  • To improve the DIBL characteristics of deep sub micron BC PMOSFETs, the methods of DCI(Deep Channel Implantation) and Hale Implantation have been reported. In this study, using the process simulator TSUPREM4, we simulated the 0.25$\mu\textrm{m}$ and 0.45$\mu\textrm{m}$ gate length BC PMOSFETs applying the both methods to improve the DIBL characteristics, and their electric characteristics were compared to find the mothod suitable far deep sub-half micron BC PMOSFETs, using the device simulator MEDICI. So we found out that the method of Halo Implantation could be applied to deep sub-half micron BC PMOSFETs for 255 Mbit DRAM.
