  • Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) is a wireless network that gathers information from remote area with autonomously configured routing path. We propose a fusion based routing for a 'convergecast' in which all sensors periodically forward collected data to a base station. Previous researches dealt with only full-fusion or no-fusion case. Our Fusion rate based Spanning Tree (FST) can provide effective routing topology in terms of total cost according to all ranges of fusion rate f ($0{\leq}f{\leq}1$). FST is optimum for convergecast in case of no-fusion (f = 0) and full-fusion (f = 1) and outperforms the Shortest Path spanning Tree (SPT) or Minimum Spanning Tree (MST) for any range of f (0 < f < 1). Simulation of 100-node WSN shows that the total length of FST is shorter than MST and SPT nearby 31% and 8% respectively in terms of topology lengths for all range of f. As a result, we confirmed that FST is a very useful WSN topology.

  • The traffic in the wired and wireless networks has increased exponentially because of increase of smart phone and improvement of PC performance. Multimedia services and file transmission such as Facebook, Youtube occupy a large part of the traffic. CDN is a technique that duplicates the contents on a remote web server of content provider to local CDN servers near clients and chooses the optimal CDN server for providing the content to the client in the event of a content request. In this paper, the content request message between CDN servers and the client used the SCRP algorithm utilizing the MST algorithm and the traffic throughput was optimized. The average response time for the content request is reduced by employing HC_LRU cache algorithm that improves the cache hit ratio. The proposed SCRP and HC_LRU algorithm may build a scalable content delivery network system that efficiently utilizes network resources, achieves traffic localization and prevents bottlenecks.

  • In this study, genetic variation in the 5 strains of 2N-cont, meiotic-G2N, mitotic-G2N and two types of clones with different genetic backgrounds was investigated by developing their tolerance to water temperature and salinity, which is a physiological trait, into a quantitative trait. The temperature was set at 19$^{\circ}C$, 22.5$^{\circ}C$, 25$^{\circ}C$ and 30$^{\circ}C$, each of which was combined with 0$\textperthousand$, 15$\textperthousand$ and 30$\textperthousand$ of salinity respectively, making 12 groups in all. In the mean survival time (MST), samples with 15$\textperthousand$ of salinity showed the longest survival time at all temperatures. The 2N-cont had the longest 126.16 h followed by clone-11 and clone-15 surviving for 113.22 h and 91.05 h respectively. Gynogenetic diploids showed the shortest 87,32 h and 36.56 h. At 22.5 and 25$^{\circ}C$, MST of each strain was significantly short, showing similar results to those of the groups at 19$^{\circ}C$. The 2N-cont had the longest MST while clones had a longer MST than gynogenetic diploids. This could be due to gynogenesis which causes homozygosis among malignant harmful genes, leading to its appearance in populations and resulting in early death in individuals with such genes. On the other hand, MST of clones was longer than that of gynogenetic fish. This could be because the 1st gynogenetic generation, which is a parental population, has already had its malignant genes removed, while the clones of the 2nd gynogenetic generation have had their superior genes fixed as well as their tolerance and survival improved. When temperature was raised to 22.5$^{\circ}C$ and 25$^{\circ}C$, increase in variation was observed in gynogenetic diploids and decrease in clones in 15$\textperthousand$ of salinity. This shows that such a trait is genetic to a certain extent. Consequently, if this character is developed into a quantitative trait and applied to selective breeding, it could be a useful character to secure superior strains and individuals, and also it would be possible to improve populations genetically through selection.

  • The influence of the slip flow on the MEMS/MST based gas-lubricated proceeding bearing is investigated. Based on the modified Reynolds equation, the numerical analysis of the finite difference method was developed by applying the first order slip flow approximation. The numerical prediction of bearing performance provides the significant results concerning the slip flow effect in micro scale gas-lubricated proceeding bearing. The result indicates that the load-carrying capacity as well as the rotordynamic coefficients were significantly reduced due to the slip flow. Through this work, it is concluded that the slip flow effect could not be ignored in the micro gas-lubricated proceeding bearing.

  • The Euclidean steiner tree problem (ESTP) is to find a minimum-length euclidean interconnection of a set of points in the plane. It is well known that the solution to this problem will be the minimal spanning tree (MST) on some set steiner points, and the ESTP is NP-complete. The ESTP has received a lot of attention in the literature, and heuristic and optimal algorithms have been proposed. In real field, heuristic algorithms for ESTP are popular. A key performance measure of the algorithm for the ESTP is the reduction rate that is achieved by the difference between the objective value of the ESTP and that of the MST without steiner points. In recent survey for ESTP, the best heuristic algorithm showed around $3.14\%$ reduction in the performance measure. We present a evolution programming (EP) for ESTP based upon the Prim algorithm for the MST problem. The computational results show that the EP can generate better results than already known heuristic algorithms.

  • Microsystem technology (MST) which originated from semiconductor processes has been widely spreaded into tile other industry such as sensors, micro fluidics and displays. The MST, however. has been troubled in spreading with its high cost and material limitations. So, in this paper, new process for micromolding technology using silicone rubber mold was introduced. Silicone rubber mold, which was fabricated by vacuum casting. can be transferred a master pattern to a final product with the same shape but different materials. In order to verify the possibility of application of silicone rubber mold to the MST, its transferability was evaluated. and then it applied to the fabrications of polishing pad and PDP barrier ribs.

  • This paper describes an approach for constucting a Rectilinear Steiner Tree (RST) derivable from a Minimum Spanning Tree (MST), using Associative Processor (AP). We propose a fast parallel algorithm using AP's basic algorithms which can be realized by the processing capability of rudimentary logic and the selective matching capability of Content- Addressable Memory (CAM). The main idea behind the proposed algorithm is to maximize the overlaps between the consecutive edges in MST, thus minimizing the cost of a RST. An efficient parallel linear algorithm with O(n) complexity to construct a RST is proposed using an algorithm to find a MST, where n is the number of nodes. A node insertion method is introduced to allow the Z-type layout. The routing process which only depends on the neighbor edges and the no-rerouting strategy both help to speed up finding a RST.

  • MMA-Styrene-Tetramethyltin(MST) thin films were fabricated by plasma polymerization method, and their electrical properties were confirmed by IR and GPC. The electrical conductivity increased with increasing temperature, and the adsorption current hardly appeared. The high-field electrical conduction mechanism is the electronic one such as schottky, and the activation energy is about 1.1 eV.
