Geotechnical parameters from pressuremeter tests for MRT Blue Line extension in Bangkok

  • Construction of the extension project of the Bangkok MRT Blue Line underground railway was recently started in 2011. The construction of approximately 5 km long underground tunnel and 4 deep excavations of underground station are considered to be the most important geotechnical works. The pressuremeter was selected as a high-quality in situ testing of the soil to evaluate design parameters for the project. In addition, other field and laboratory tests such as vane shear and $CK_0U$ triaxial tests were included in the investigation programme. This paper aims to present the ground conditions encountered along the MRT Blue Line extension project as well as the site investigation and interpretation techniques with particular focus on the pressuremeter tests. The results are also compared with the pressuremeter investigation from the previous Bangkok MRT project.

  • MRT has various surveillance systems for passenger's safety and facility protection which are consisted of fire detection, trespasser observation and so on. However, these systems are not closely related each other because it is designed just for its own purpose, so it could be make wrong decision to surveillance system without important information to determine an accident or disaster. For more accurate event detection, surveillance system needs total situation-aware method using complementary data. This study introduces context-aware system for complex and accurate event detection. Therefore, we apply context-aware system to MRT surveillance system, selecting context-aware parameters and appling them to it.

도시철도 영상감시시스템의 효율적 운영방안에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Effective Management of Digital Surveillance System for MRT)

  • Since Daegu subway station fire killed 192 citizens in 2003, the demands about safety MRT operation has been increased. Also, the studies and patents for MRT Surveillance are increasing. The related law and system are improving, too. This study suggests the solution for digital surveillance system that has the functions for restricted zone surveillance, the harmful gas and fire surveillance and abnormal behavior surveillance by comparing and analyzing the surveillance systems of advanced countries (United states, Hongkong, Japan etc). Then, we suggest UMS(Unified Message Service) system and image storing system for effective report and management.

  • 본 연구는 전력소비완화를 위해 전동열차의 출발시간을 조정하는 문제를 다룬다. 전동열차의 운행은 역행, 타행 및 제동의 단계로 구성된다. 역행단계는 전동열차의 운행을 위해 많은 전력량이 필요로 하며, 타행단계는 그 전력을 바탕으로 전력 소비가 거의 없이 운행되는 단계이고, 마지막으로 제동단계는 정차를 위해 감속하는 단계로 전동열차의 관성력으로 인해 운동에너지가 전력으로 바뀌어 회생전력이 발생한다. 회생전력은 동일 전력계통의 운행구간에서 동 시간대에 역행운행 중인 전동열차의 동력자원으로 재사용 될 수 있어 소비전력량을 줄이는 것이 가능하다. 이를 위해 혼합정수계획모형을 제안하고 모형의 실효성을 검증하기 위해 수도권 도시철도 한 구간의 전력데이터를 사용하여 실험하였다.

  • 도시철도를 건설하고 운영하기 위해서는 운영비용 예측이 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 중간규모(MRT)의 도시철도를 대상으로 하여 운영비용 추정함수모형을 개발하였다. 운영비용에 영향을 주는 변수들로서 전동차 보유량, 전동차 편성수, 정거장수, 영업구간(km), 열차운행횟수, 일일수송인원, 차량기지 등의 독립변수를 선정하였다. 이를 바탕으로 Excel 프로그램을 통해서 회귀분석을 수행하였고, 3가지 모형의 운영비용 추정함수모형을 개발하였으며, 모두 적합한 모형으로 나타났다. 이 모형함수들을 적용하여 각 운영사의 운영비를 실제운영비용과 예측비용을 비교하였다. 결과가 모두 비슷하여 유용한 식으로 판단된다. 따라서, 변수조건에 따른 추정함수를 선택사용이 가능하다.

  • Seoul Metropolitan Rapid Transit Corporation - which is operating the subway lines No. 5, 6, 7 and 8 of Seoul's subway - has been operating a variety of motor cars and rail inspection vehicles to transport workers and materials into the tunnel at night after the daily revenue service for the maintenance of tunnel structure and track. However, the air quality in tunnels has been contaminated due to the operation of diesel engine cars, and rail inspection vehicles are now having higher chances of risks since the lightweight vehicles made with aluminum bogie became too obsolete. In this study, MRT type eco-friendly electric multi-inspection car has been elaborated for the purpose of improvement of tunnel environment and replacement of motor cars and rail inspection vehicles.

  • This paper describes an energy efficient train control. In these days, the researchers develop the energy efficient railway technologies, such as energy storage system, energy efficient driving. Mass rapid transit (MRT) railways, which are an important means of public transportation in urban areas, have operational characteristics that include short headways, frequent departures and arrivals. Therefore, when multiple trains are operating in the same power supply system, it is important to synchronize the energy tractions and regenerations. This paper define the group of trains for energy saving according to a power supply. We analyze the current synchronized driving situations and estimate the effect.

  • Guideway Transportation will provide the break-through to solve the traffic problems, which a lot of big cities have over the world. APM (Automated People Mover) system, Guideway Transportation, is classified by PRT, GRT, and MRT according to the capacity of passenger to be carried by its system. In the Application of PRT (Personal Rapid Transit) system, the enact analysis of the traffic problem on the area to be applied should be preceded. PRT system is characterized by Off-Line and Demand Operation. The Network of PRT system depends on the Load Time and Load Pattern. The operation of PRT system will have move efficient way when it is applied to the network with evenly distributed Load Time and Load Pattern.
