Property of Multi-Direction Mount Using Magneto-Rheological Fluid (MR유체를 이용한 다방향 제진형 마운트의 응답특성)

  • This paper presents property of the squeeze mode type mount using Magneto-Rheological fluid (MR fluid). The mount can isolate multi-directional vibrations, and also effectively reduce the vibrations in a wide range of disturbance frequency by controling the applied magnetic field. The shape of the mount is the same that of squeeze film damper. In the present work, the performance of this mount was experimentally investigated according to changing the magnetic field strength.   • 본 연구에서는 MR 유체를 특징으로 하는 대시포트형 마운트를 제안하고, 자극 형상의 변화가 MR유체 마운트의 감쇠력에 미치는 영향에 대하여 고찰하였다. 제안된 MR유체 마운트의 코어부에 발생하는 자기 특성에 대하여 살펴보기 위하여 자극(Magnetic pole)의 유효길이와 코어 중심부의 구조를 달리하여 대시포트를 제작하였다. 등가자기회로를 이용한 대략적인 계산방법에 의한 결과 자극의 유효길이가 증가할수록 자기저항은 감소하는 경향을 나타내지만, 그 밖의 설계인자들의 영향은 작게 나타났다. 상용해석프로그램을 이용하여 등가자기회로 결과와 비교를 하였으며, 대시포트 마운트를 제작하여 자극의 유효길이 변화에 대한 감쇠력의 변화를 실험적으로 비교하였다.

  • In this study, friction characteristics using elastomeric actuator with Magneto-rheological (MR) materials are identified. Typically, Magneto-rheological materials are divided into two groups by MR fluid in fluid state and MR elastomer in solid state like rubber. The stiffness characteristics of Magneto-rheological material can be changed as magnetic field is applied. MR fluid has been applied to various industry fields such as to brake, clutch, damper, engine mount and etc. However, MR fluid has been used under the sealed condition to prevent leaking issues. In order to overcome these problems, MR elastomer that has same property as MR fluid has been developed and studied. MR elastomer mainly consists of polymer material such as natural rubber or silicon rubber with particles that can be polarized with magnetic field. And it is called as a smart material since its stiffness and damping characteristics can be changed. In this study, MR elastomer is produced and pin-on-disc tests are carried out to identify the friction characteristics of the material. Several test conditions are applied to evaluate the feasibility to use as a smart actuator in the field of vibration control.

  • In this paper, we review relevant technologies of Mixed Reality(MR) and show important components of perspective that can overcome technical limitations of the current MR. An MR technology combines real and virtual objects in a real environment, and runs interactive in real time, and is regarded as an emerging technology in a large part of the future of Information Technology(IT). We've grouped the major obstacles limiting the wider use of MR technologies into three themes: technological limitations (i,e., tracking, rendering, authoring, and registration), user interface(UI) limitations(i.e., UI metaphor for MR interaction), and social acceptance issues.

  • Magnetorheological(MR) dampers are one of the most promising semi active control devices, because they have advantages such as small power requirement, reliability, and low price to manufacture. To reduce the responses of structures with MR dampers, a control system including power supply, controller, and sensors is required. However, when a mount of MR dampers are used to a large?scale civil structure such as cable stayed bridges, the control system becomes complex. Therefore, it is not easy to install and maintain the MR damper based control system. To resolve above difficulties, This paper proposes a smart passive system that consists of a MR damper and an electromagnetic induction(EMI) system. According to the Faraday’s law of induction, EMI system that is attached to the MR damper produces electric energy. The produced energy is supplied to the MR damper. Thus, the MR damper with EMI system does not require any power at all. Furthermore, the induced electric energy is proportional to external loads like earthquakes, which means the MR damper with EMI system is adaptable to external loads without any controller and corresponding sensors. Therefore, it is easy to build up and maintain the proposed smart passive system.

  • Magneto-Rheological fluid (MR fluid) is known as a class of functional fluid with controllable apparent viscosity of the fluid by the applied magnetic field strength. Extensive researches with the functional fluids have been done on applications of the fluid to mechanical components such as suspension, absorber, engine mount, clutch, break, valve, etc. In this study, a new torsional damper using MR fluid is proposed, and the response property of the damper was theoretically investigated. The present damper is quit effective for reducing the driveline vibration in a wide range of the engine speed.

  • 본 연구에서는 MR유체를 적용한 엔진마운트 시스템을 제안하고, 자지장이 형성되는 전극의 길이변화가 엔진마운트의 감쇠력 변화에 미치는 영향에 대하여 실험적으로 고찰하였다. 가진주파수가 증가할수록 마운트로부터 전달되는 힘은 감소하지만, 공급하는 전류의 세기가 증가할수록 전달되는 힘은 증가하였다. 그러나 전극부의 길이변화는 전달되는 힘의 변화에 영향을 거의 미치지 않음을 확인하였다.
