An IS-IS Routing Protocol with Traffic Engineering Extensions in MPLS System (MPLS 시스템에서 트래픽 엔지니어링 확장을 고려한 IS-IS 라우팅 프로토콜)

  • This paper proposes the architecture of Intermediate System to Intermediate System routing protocol. IS-IS is a link state routing protocol designed to provide routing in a network layer protocols with datagram services. IS-IS has favored scalability and stability. So, it is important to support IS-IS for the MPLS system used in backbone networks. Especially, IS-IS must provide network state information and available resource information for supporting qualify of services in MPLS network. Therefore, we propose the design architecture of IS-IS routing protocol and the implementation technologies. Also, we propose extended architecture for traffic engineering in ATM based MPLS system.

  • MPLS는 고속 전달, 트랙픽 엔지니어링 그리고 가상 사설망 서비스를 가능하게 한다. MPLS 레이블 스위치와 제어기 사이에서 동작하는 GSMP 프로토콜은 연결, 구성, 장애, 성능관리 및 동기화 기능을 제공하는 개방형 인터페이스 프로토콜이다. GSMP가 적용된 개형형 인터페이스의 망 관리 기능은 제어기 또는 레이블 스위치에 위치할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 MPLS 레이블 스위치의 단순화 및 자원 이용의 효율성을 높이기 위하여 SNMP 에이전트가 제어기에 탑재되는 망 관리 모델을 제시하였다. MPLS-LSR 및 FTN MIB와 GSMP 메시지의 매핑 시나리오를 제시하였으며, 제어기의 구현을 통하여 본 논문에서 제시된 망 관리 모델의 실현성을 확인하였다.

  • ETF made the RFCs of MPLS technologies for providing the QoS of ATM or Frame Relay and the flexibility&scalability of IP on the Internet services. IETF has been expanding MPLS technologies as a common control component for supporting the various switching technologies called GMPLS. Also, IETF has standardized the signaling protocols based on such technologies, such as LDP, CR-LDP and RSVP-TE. ETRI developed the MPLS system based on ATM switch in order to provide more reliable services, differentiated services and value-added services like the VPN and traffic engineering service on the Korea Public Sector network. We are planning on deploying model services and commercial services on that network. This paper explains the basic functions of LDP, design and development of LDP on our system, and compares with LDP development and operation on other MPLS systems made by Cisco, Juniper, Nortel and Riverstone. In conclusion, this paper deduces the future services and applications by LDP through these explanation and comparison.

An efficient network dimensioning method for DiffServ over MPLS networks (MPLS 기반 DiffServ망에서의 효율적인 네트워크 Dimensioning에 관한 연구)

  • Current existing network dimensioning method simply relies on long-time measurement data or uses average traffic characteristics of users. In this paper, we propose an efficient network dimensioning method for DiffServ over MPLS networks. First, User's SLA information is distributed from edge nodes to core nodes according to the proposed algorithm. Then at each link, class-based capacity planning is performed. For capacity planning, we proposed sets of network design parameters for DiffServ classes and bandwidth allocation schemes that are most suitable for each class. We have developed a DiffServ over MPLS network design tool using the proposed method. Simulation results show that our proposed method is able to design efficiently the required class link resources.

  • Recnetly, the demands of QoS(Quality of Service) and the traffic in network is increased. So, H-MPLS(Hierarchical MPLS) network research what guarantees the scalability is in progress. But, the H-MPLS has a problem of increasing of groups and the links of these group's nodes. It happens a problem that is increasing of H-MPLS setup cost. In this paper, We setup the H-MPLS groups. We use NS simulator in order to analyze the performance and traffic transfer times of each H-MPLS groups. In conclusion, we can find out the elevation of the traffic performance, by increasing a amount of links.

  • The Next generation IP-based wireless access network proposed Mobile IP(IPv4) protocols to support mobility of node. Because Mobile IPv4 operates on th basis deigned IP in fixed network, it causes performance drop like triangle routing and handover delay. Therefore Mobile IPv4 needs scheme to complement this problems and to support service guaranteed QoS. Concerns about using MPLS networks in the next generation IP-based wireless access network are increasing. In our previous research, we proposed MCS&MUMCA, IP mobility management scheme. In this paper, we linkage the MCS&MUMCA in MPLS network and analyze its the performance.

  • As Internet users and network traffics are explosively increased, many researches have been done to provide fast and guaranteed Internet services. The results of these efforts are Multiprotocol Lab el Switching(MPLS) and differentiated service(Diff serv) emerging as a next generation backbone net work. In this paper, we make a research on gearing (or interworking) two technology needed to support end-to-end QoS and explain sequential procedure. And we simulate the L-LSP/E-LSP proposed by Working Group of IETF to be deployed to the DiffServ module which is implemented based on the MPLS network simulator and analyze the performance of the simulation result.

  • 최근 인터넷의 급속한 사용 증가로 인해 전송 링크의 광대역 지원과 멀티미디어 트래픽의 QoS 보장 문제, 향상된 IP 서비스의 제공 문제 해결은 필수적이다. MPLS 기술은 IP의 유연성과 확장성을 제공할 수 있는 패러다임의 하나이다. MPLS 망의 경계에 위치하는 LER 은 링크 계층 뿐만 아니라 IP 계층에서도 패킷을 전달해야 한다. 본 논문에서는 하드웨어 포워딩 엔진을 갖는 MPLS LER에서, 패킷 필터링 기능을 지원하기 위해서 포워딩 엔진을 제어하기 위한 기법에 대해서 기술한다. 이러한 패킷 필터링 기능은 MPLS LER에 firewall 기능을 제공하는데 응용될 수 있다.

  • Multiprotocol Label Switching is an initiating IETF that integrated Layer2 information network links(bandwidth, latency, utilization) to Layer 3(IP) with a particular autonomous system(or ISP) in order to simplify and improve IP-packet exchange. MPLS gives network operators a grate deal of flexibility to divert and route traffic around link failures, congestion, and bottlenecks. The MPLS has advantages that will be able to solve existing problem of Network that ISP have had IP, QoS, Gigabit forwarding and traffic engineering. The purpose of this study is to measure Access-list and the capacities of PE Router that would operate as MPLS. Many ISP using MPLS service to handle high-speed internet traffic with apply to firewall in future.

  • In this paper, We consider various service models and mechanisms as a part of study for offering QoS with the requirement of user and discuss genetic algorithm and hybrid genetic algorithm for routing optimization in broa㏈and convergence network. If routing optimization based on OSPF is not sufficient, a number of MPLS paths can be set up to further improve QoS. We propose two mixed-integer programming models for the complementary MPLS problem, and consider the maximum link utilization within the network as the relevant network QoS measure
