In this paper, a remote control system called TeleRemote system which can be applied to existing wireless mobile networks or public telephone networks for remote control is designed and implemented. The proposed design employs program technology based on the theory of signal detect control and enables the EPG(Electronic Program Guide) functions such as recording reservation of bidirectional video signals with TV reception card on PC. It can also control recording reservation using remote control program through telecommunication network The PC-EPG system is implemented in Web programs with Server/Clinet architecture and the server system that provides EPG functionalities is in charge of recording reservations and data communications by means of the scheduler program. Data storing to client PCs is performed through TCP/IP and finished by client programs implemented using Visual C++/MFC programs. As remote control system, the developed system can be used for unmanned security system using the Web camera. Building intranet and making connection to internet, the TeleRemote system is believed to create potential for commercial communication system.

The widespread use of the Internet has led to the problem of intellectual property and copyright infringement. Digital rights management (DRM) technologies have been developed to protect digital content items. Digital content can be classified into static content (for example, text or media files) and dynamic content (for example, VOD or multicast streams). This paper deals with the protection of a multicast stream on set-top boxes connected to an IP network. In this paper, we examine the following design and architectural issues to be considered when applying DRM functions to multicast streaming service environments: transparent streaming service and large-scale user environments. To address the transparency issue, we introduce a 'selective encryption scheme'. To address the second issue, a 'key packet insertion scheme' and 'hierarchical key management scheme' are introduced. Based on the above design and architecture, we developed a prototype of a multicasting DRM system. The analysis of our implementation shows that it supports transparent and scalable DRM multicasting service in a large-scale user environment.

디지털 방송과 함께 저장매체를 갖는 PVR과 셋탑박스가 출현하였지만 방대한 컨텐츠에 대한 선택의 어려움이 발생하였다. 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위해서 PVR에서는 TV-Anytime과 MPEG-7 표준을 기반으로 멀티미디어 데이터에 대한 메타데이터를 제공한다. 이 메타데이터는 멀티미디어 데이터를 표현하는 특징적인 정보를 포함하고 있어, 컨텐츠에 대한 선택과 검색을 돕는다. 그러나 메타데이터는 그 내용이 방대한 XML document로 구성되어 있어, 효율적이고 빠른 검색이 쉽지 않다. 본 논문은 이러한 XML 메타데이터의 특성을 기반으로 효율적인 검색을 위한 XML 메타데이터 엔진을 설계한다. 제안하는 XML 메타데이터 엔진은 메타데이터의 정보적 특성을 기반으로 인덱싱 구조를 설계하여 XML 메타데이터의 접근 시간을 최소화한다.

In this paper, we presents a new multimedia service transmit method using IPv6. The IPv6 provides the address system of 128 bit and the address space which is infinite it provides. But it will not become the IPv4 and interchange not to be, it uses the DSTM Transition mechanism which will reach and the IPv4 center in the packet header the service type it will be able to support the service class of multi type (TOS) it secures the weak point of data transfer delay it puts a base in the IPv6. The efficiency of this proposed technique have been proven by MPEG-4 streaming video streaming of the IPv6 namely, 6Xtream embodied a order form/live streaming server and the client which it uses to be possible in base and real-time decoding method.

A visually adaptive quantization method of DCT-based images based on Human Visual System(HVS) is proposed. This approach uses the spatial masking in HVS characteristics to obtain higher compression ratio with relatively small degradation in the image quality. HVS is nonsensitive to an edge area, so a high complexity area is quantized coarsely in contrast to fine quantization of the low complexity area. The complexity of an area is estimated by the variance of DCT coefficients of the image. Experimental results demonstrate the performance of the proposed method and the resulting images show little difference from the original image in the subjective perception.

본 논문에서는 MPEG4 스트리밍을 기반으로 하여 다용도로 인터넷에서 영상 및 음성을 전송할 수 있는 시스템(RealCam SUN A/V)를 설계하고 구현하였다. 기존의 인터넷응용 시스템들은 주변 관찰용, 인터넷 방송용, 원격 장비 제어용 등의 독립된 시스템으로 개발 운영되고 있으며, 2개 이상의 용도를 사용하기 위해서는 여러 개의 시스템을 설치하여 사용해야 하는 문제점을 가지고 있었다. 본 연구에서는 이들 용도를 하나로 통합하여 다목적으로 활용할 수 있게 시스템을 설계하고 구현하였으며, 그 결과 56Kbps 에서는 160*120 화면 크기로는 초당 15프레임정도의 영상 전송을 할 수 있었고, 512Kbps에서는 640*480 크기를 초당 30프레임으로 서비스할 수 있었다.

차세대 DVD system의 audio 규격인 Dolby AC-3를 구현하는 방법으로 DSP 프로세서인 TMSC80을 사용하여 실시간 처리 가능한 하드웨어 바탕의 firmware 소프트웨어를 개발하는 방법으로 구현하고자 한다. 본 논문에서는 먼저 TMS320C80을 바탕으로 한 하드웨어 구현에 관해 논의한다. 하드웨어의 구조는 TMS320C80과 시스템 메모리로의 DRAM, 오디오 입력부인 ADC, 입력 데이터를 효과적으로 사용하기 위한 FIFO menory, 오디오 출력용인 dac, 디버깅 및 통신포트로 USB, RS-232,LPT와 MPEG-2 encoding보드 등 다른 보드와 연계를 위한 local-bus를 위한 dual port ram으로 구성된다. 오디오 입력은 최대 24bit 48kHz sampling까지 받을 수 있다.

In this paper, we propose new features for describing texture images by using multi-channel Gabor filter and log-polar transform based on human visual system (HVS). Gabor features are extracted by the mean and standard deviation of energy in Gabor response, followed by Fourier series extension. Log-polar features are extracted by log-polar transform and projection. The proposed texture descriptor performs reasonably well with less number of features than other texture descriptors, which has been verified by experiments using some texture images of MPEG-7 data set.

본 논문에서는 내용 기반 동영상 검색을 위한 효율적이고 자동적인 특징 추출 알고리듬을 컬러 정보와 모션 정보에 대해 제안하고, 이를 동영상 검색 시스템에 적용한다. 컬러 정보의 경우 기존의 key-frame단위의 컬러 특징 추출의 한계를 극복하고, 동영상의 컬러 히스토그램 정보와 컬러의 공간분포 정보를 반영할 수 있는 컬러 특징 추출 알고리듬을 제안한다. 그리고 모션특징은 MPEG-1 동영상 내의 모션 벡터와 컬러 정보를 조합한 컬러-모션 특징을 추출하여 사용한다. 최종적으로 추출된 특징을 이용한 검색 시스템을 구현해, 제안된 알고리듬의 성능을 평가하였다.

In this paper, a user-friendly mobile photo album system and albuming functions to support it are introduced. Stand-alone implementation in a mobile device is considered. The main idea of user-friendly photo browsing for albuming functions is to enable users to organize and browse their photos along semantically meaningful axes of events, personal identities, and categories. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method would be sufficiently useful and efficient for browsing personal photos in mobile environment.
