Thiourea 첨가에 의한 MOW의 산화-환원 연속 표백 (Sequential Oxidative and Reductive Bleaching of MOW by the Addition of Thiourea)

  • The effect of sequential oxidative-reductive bleaching on brightening of the MOWs is investigated. The improvement in brightnesses of MOWs is more effective in conventional PFAS bleaching than in P/T bleaching. There is no difference in the mechanical properties or the bleached pulps between PFAS and P/T sequences. Considering the brightness gains and bleaching chemicals cost, for the MOW A(Initial brightness: 68.3% ISO) containing 5% ONP and 20% colored paper, the P/T bleaching is more economical than the PFAS bleaching. However for MOW B(initial brightness: 59.1% ISO) containing 15% ONP and 35% colored paper, there is no difference in the bleaching efficiency between PFAS and P/T bleaching.

  • To produce the raw material used for printing and writing paper or high quality tissue, MOWs that were consisted of white ledger, colored ledger and old newspaper were bleached with EoP and EoPY(FAS) method, the EoP bleaching process gave the improvement in brightness and a high color removal efficiency. Especially, MOW B(initial brightness: 59.1% ISO) that contained much old newspaper showed the higher bleaching efficiency than those of MOW A(initial brightness: 68.3%). After EoPY(FAS) bleaching, MOW's brightness was increased from 68.3% ISO to 84.3∼84.0% ISO, and from 59.1% ISO to 78.7∼79.2% ISO, respectively. Also the tensile and burst index of bleached pulps decreased by 10∼30%. The tear index slightly decreased or halted at the same range as unbleached pulps.

  • To make a basepaper for multipurposed seed paper, old news print (ONP) and mixed office waste paper (MOW), modified and unmodified with a commercial cellulase, were investigated. Each handsheet was applied with different chemicals such as insecticides, germicides and herbicides. The interactions behaviors of chemicals used with base papers were evaluated by means of the contents of chemicals impregnation and dissolving behaviors in water and soil. The ONP and MOW treated with the cellulase had higher impregnation and dissolving capacities in both water and soil than untreated ONP and MOW. However, the modified ONP showed lower impregnation and dissolving capacities compared to the modified MOW. The content of impregnation of chemicals would be affected with the degree of microfibrils produced by the modification treatment. Otherwise, dissolving capacities of chemicals depend on the affinity of the residual lignin in the paper.

  • The purpose of this study is to resolve the factors that affect happiness levels and l Considering the increasing importance of maintaining and developing the careers of working mothers, this study sought to analyze the effect of the meaning of work (MOW) and child-based self-worth (CBSW) on the work-family interface and career commitment. This is the first exploratory study to examine MOW and CBSW as resources for working mothers. For 10 days, starting August 18, 2020, 309 working mothers were asked to complete a questionnaire commissioned by a professional research institute, and 250 valid samples were then analyzed. The analysis found, first, that MOW had statistically significant positive effects on work-family enrichment and family-work enrichment and a negative effect on work-family conflict. Second, CBSW had a positive effect on work-family and family-work conflicts. Third, work-family enrichment had a positive effect on career commitment, while work-family conflict had a negative effect on career commitment. Finally, the mediation effects of the three paths were determined: MOW→work-family enrichment→career commitment; MOW→family-work enrichment→career commitment; CBSW→work-family conflict→career commitment. These results suggest that, to better manage the career commitment of working mothers, attention should be paid to the MOW, CBSW, and work-family interface.

가정배달급식과 무료 회합급식 이용 노인의 건강 및 영양섭취상태 비교 (Comparison of Health Status and Nutrient Intakes of Elders Who Participated in MOW and Free Congregate Meal Services)

  • 본 연구는 서울 강북 N구의 저소득 재가노인 가정배달급식대상자 45명과 무료 회합급식 이용자 81명 대상으로 건강상태 및 영양소 섭취량을 비교 조사하였으며, 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. 연구대상자의 평균 연령은 남녀 모두 배달급식군(남자 77.3세, 여자 78.5세)이 회합급식군(남자 73.7세, 여자 74.2세)보다 많았으나, 유의한 차이는 아니었다. 체질량 지수 역시 남녀 모두 두 집단간에 유의한 차이를 보이지는 않았으나, 남자노인의 경우 배달급식군이 회합급식군보다 낮은 경향을 보였다. 두 집단 모두 학력은 무학 및 초등학교 졸업이 가장 많고, 90% 이상이 임대 아파트에 거주하여 두 집단간에 유의한 차이가 없었으며, 가족형태와 수입도 차이를 보이지 않았다. 생활비 조달방법은 두 집단 모두 정부보조금의 비율이 가장 높았으나, 회합급식군은 자력 또는 자녀의 도움도 23.4%나 차지하였다(p<0.05). 음주, 흡연, 수면시간은 두 집단간에 유의한 차이를 보이지 않았으나, 배달급식군은 거의 운동을 하지 않은 반면 회합급식군은 38.3%가 일주일에 3번 이상 운동을 하였다(p<0.01). 뇌졸중(p<0.01), 호흡기질환(p<0.05) 및 외로움(p<0.05)의 비율은 배달급식 군에서 더 높게 나타났다. ADL과 IADL의 점수는 배달급식군에서 회합급식군보다 매우 낮았으며(p<0.0001), 영양의 균형을 생각하며 식사하는 빈도(p<0.05), 과일(p<0.01), 육 어류(p<0.01), 해조류(p<0.05)의 섭취 빈도와 식습관 점수 (p<0.0001)도 배달급식군에서 낮았다. 배달급식군과 회합급식군 모두 대부분의 영양소 섭취량이 RI 또는 AI 이하였다. 남녀 모두 배달급식군의 열량과 대부분의 열량영양소 섭취량은 회합급식군보다 적은 경향을 보였고 단백질섭취량은 여자노인에서 유의하게 적었으며, 칼슘, 칼륨, 비타민 A, 비타민 $B_1$, 비타민 $B_2$, 비타민 C, 엽산의 섭취 량은 RI 또는 AI의 50%에도 미치지 못하여 회합급식군보다도 매우 불량한 영양섭취상태였다. 특히 여자노인은 회합급식군과의 차이가 남자노인보다 더욱 심각하여 영양상태가 매우 열악하였다. 배달급식군의 영양소 섭취부족 대상자 비율은 무려 42.2%로 회합급식군보다 매우 높았다(p<0.0001). 따라서 배달급식군의 영양소 섭취량은 전반적으로 영양불량의 문제를 지닌 일반노인은 물론 무료회합급식 이용 노인들의 평균섭취량에도 미치지 못하는 매우 저조한 영양상태를 보여 경제력, 육체적 활동 및 건강상태 등이 매우 열악한 이들 집단에 대한 질 좋은 영양서비스의 제공이 국가적 차원에서 시급히 재고되어야 할 것이다. 연구대상자 특히 배달급식 대상자의 경우 모집의 어려움으로 인해 적은 수의 연구대상자의 결과를 보고한 것은 본 연구의 제한점이라 할 수 있다 따라서 본 연구결과를 바탕으로 좀 더 많은 대상자를 대상으로 한 조사 연구가 계속 이루어져 가정배달급식 프로그램의 개선을 위한 유용한 자료로 축적되어야 할 것이다.

  • Waste papers(MOW and ONP) were deinked with alkaline cellulolytic enzyme from Coprinus cinereus 2249. The effectiveness of alkaline enzyme on sticky contaminant removal and bleaching of recycling pulp was investigated. The conclusions obtained from the results are as follows. The brightness of deinked pulps MOW and ONP was most high in 0.4IU enzyme treatment. \circled2 The removal effect of sticky contaminant was enhanced with alkaline cellulolytic enzyme treatment. Bleaching with sodium hydrosulfite was most effective in one and two stage bleaching after enzyme treatment of mixed wastepaper of MOW and colored paper. \circled4 The brightness of alkaline enzyme deinked ONP was increased 20% with $H_2O$$_2$ bleaching.

모링가 잎 추출물의 항당뇨, 알코올 대사 및 간 보호 활성 (Anti-Diabetic, Alcohol-Metabolizing, and Hepatoprotective Activities of Moringa (Moringa oleifera Lam.) Leaf Extracts)

  • 본 연구에서는 비타민과 단백질이 풍부하여 높은 영양가를 가지고 있으며, 콜레스테롤 제거 및 간 손상 방지와 염증, 심장병 등의 치료 효과가 있는 것으로 알려진 모링가 잎 추출물의 새로운 소재로서의 가능성을 검토하고자 항산화 활성과 항당뇨, 항염증 및 알코올분해능을 탐색하였다. 모링가 열수 및 에탄올 추출물의 총페놀 함량은 각각 45.49와 63.06 mg TAE/g으로 나타났다. 1,1-Diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl radical 소거능은 1 mg/mL 농도의 열수 및 에탄올 추출물에서 각각 60.81%와 71.29%로 에탄올 추출물의 소거능이 높게 나타났다. 모링가 열수 및 에탄올 추출물의 superoxide dismutase 유사 활성은 농도 의존적으로 증가하였으며, 5 mg/mL 농도의 열수 및 에탄올 추출물에서 각각 2.82%와 7.40%로 에탄올 추출물의 활성이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 모링가 추출물의 혈당 강하 효과를 확인하기 위해 실시한 ${\alpha}-glucosidase$ 활성 억제 효과는 5 mg/mL 농도의 열수 및 에탄올 추출물에서 45.19%와 88.14%로 에탄올 추출물의 저해 활성이 유의적으로 높게 나타났다. 숙취 해소능을 알아보기 위해 alcohol dehydrogenase 및 acetaldehyde dehydrogenase 활성을 측정한 결과 두 효소 모두 모링가 열수 및 에탄올 추출물의 농도에 의존적으로 증가하였다. Lipopolysaccharide(LPS)에 의하여 유도된 NO 합성은 열수 및 에탄올 추출물 1 mg/mL 농도에서 28.50%와 7.90%로 LPS 처리군(41.96%)보다 각각 32.1%와 81.2% 현저히 감소하였으며, 모링가 열수 및 에탄올 추출물이 tacrine으로 유도된 Hep3B 간암 세포주에 대하여 유의적인 보호 활성을 나타냈다. 이상의 결과에서와 같이 모링가 잎 열수 및 에탄올 추출물은 우수한 항당뇨, 항염증, 숙취 해소 효과 및 간세포 보호 효과가 있는 것으로 나타났기에 기능성 소재로서의 활용도가 높을 것으로 판단된다.

섬유 분별과 혼합 방법에 의한 신문고지로부터 화장지의 제조 (Manufacture of Toilet Tissue from Old Newspaper by Fiber Fractionation and Blending)

  • To manufacture toilet tissue with ONP (old newspaper), the effect of fractionation fiber (R150, R100, R70 mesh) and bleaching(P, PY), blending (70/30) with MOW(mixed office wastepaper) or WL(white ledger) and the addition of softener on the optical and mechanical properties were studied. Considering the pulp yield, brightness and strengths, fibers of R100 mesh fraction were proper to be produced to toilet paper from ONP. This pulp showed the pulp yield of 76.8%, brightness of 50.2% ISO and tensile index of 21.1 Nm/g. By the bleach with P and PY stages, the brightness of the pulps increased up to 60.3% ISO and 61.8% ISO, respectively. When blended with MOW (57.3% ISO) or WL (76.2% ISO), the brightness of the former increased up to 58.5% ISO, the latter up to 63.6% ISO. The strengths of pulp blended with WL were higher than those of fractionated pulp from 100% ONP, however there was no difference in strengths between fractionated pulp and blended pulp wth MOW. While the addition of softener improved the softness of paper, but it decreased strengths of pulp and extended dispersing time in water.

Service quality, satisfaction, and behavioral intention in home delivered meals program

  • This study was conducted to evaluate recipients' perception of service quality, satisfaction, and behavioral intention in home delivered meals program in the US. Out of 398 questionnaires, 265 (66.6%) were collected, and 209 questionnaires (52.5%) were used for the statistical analysis. A Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) with a maximum likelihood was first conducted to estimate the measurement model by verifying the underlying structure of constructs. The level of internal consistency in each construct was acceptable, with Cronbach's alpha estimates ranging from 0.7 to 0.94. All of the composite reliabilities of the constructs were over the cutoff value of 0.50, ensuring adequate internal consistency of multiple items for each construct. As a second step, a Meals-On-Wheels (MOW) recipient perception model was estimated. The model's fit as indicated by these indexes was satisfactory and path coefficients were analyzed. Two paths between (1) volunteer issues and behavioral intention and (2) responsiveness and behavioral intention were not significant. The path for predicting a positive relationship between food quality and satisfaction was supported. The results show that having high food quality may create recipient satisfaction. The findings suggest that food quality and responsiveness are significant predictors of positive satisfaction. Moreover, satisfied recipients have positive behavioral intention toward MOW programs.

  • Alkaline cellulolytic enzymes from cultured medium of Coprinus cinereus 2249 were purified with gel and ion-exchange chromatography and characteristics of those enzyme proteins were investigated. A fiber length distribution and a crystallinity of cellulose and sugar composition of enzyme treated Mixed Office Wastepaper(MOW) and Unbleached Kraft Pulp(UKP) were analysed. The conclusion could summarized as follows; \circled1 Alkaline and acidic, endo- and exo-glucanases were purified from cultured medium of Coprinus cinereus 2249. \circled2 The approximate molecular weight of alkaline endo-glucanase was 42 kDa, and also that of alkaline exo-glucanase was 50 kDa. A fiber length distribution and a crystallization of cellulose and sugar composition of enzyme treated MOW and UKP were not so much changed with original paper and pulp.
