In this paper, we have proposed MIMO-IBFD system that can transmit and receive multiple data stream at the same time in the single band, and analyze the system. We have confirmed that MIMO-IBFD system requires multiple RF cancellation and multiple Digital cancellation techniques. In simulation, we have analyzed characteristic of received signal on MIMO-IBFD system, and evaluate system performance of conventional $2{\times}2$ MIMO system and MIMO-IBFD system. As simulation results, we have confirmed that MIMO-IBFD system can transmit and receive multiple data stream at the same time in the single band by using multiple RF and digital cancellation techniques. Additionally, we have confirmed that BER performance of $2{\times}2$ MIMO-IBFD system with low-level QAM modulation is similar to performance of $2{\times}2$ MIMO system, and BER performance of $2{\times}2$ MIMO-IBFD system with high-level QAM modulation is degraded in comparison with $2{\times}2$ MIMO system with high-level QAM modulation. We can confirm that MIMO-IBFD system requires high level self-interference cancellation technique in order to use high level modulation.

In this paper, we propose a decoding method that improves the transmission rate and reliability by integrating MIMO(Multiple Input Multiple Output) communication scheme using turbo code and FTN(Faster Than Nyquist) scheme among high rate and high reliability wireless communication schemes in wireless communication. The existing MIMO-FTN(Multiple Input Multiple Output-Faster Than Nyquist) scheme based on hierarchical space-time coded method induced data rate loss due to the application of the space-time trellis coding scheme to remove adjacent symbol interference due to FTN scheme. To solve these problems, this paper proposes a method using W-ZF(Weighted-Zero Forcing) which overcomes the disadvantages of ZF(Zero Forcing) scheme in MIMO-FTN scheme using ZF scheme. In this paper, we compared the performance and the transmission rate of the MIMO-FTN scheme based on the hierarchical space-time coding, the MIMO-FTN scheme using W-ZF and the SISO-FTN scheme. As a result, the MIMO-FTN scheme using the W-ZF scheme is two times better than the other two schemes.

In order to maximize spectrum efficiency and data rate MIMO(Multiple Input Multiple Output) is adopted to wireless system. OFDM-based WiMAX and LTE accommodate MIMO as mandatory technology. STC(Space Time Coding) and SM(Spatial Multiplexing) are used in downlink while in uplink C-MIMO(Collaborative MIMO) is used to improve data throughput. In this paper conventional pairing schemes, RPS(Random Pairing Scheduling) and DPS(Determinant Pairing Scheduling) are analyzed. From the analysis the performance of DPS algorithm is better than that of RPS because DPS measures orthogonal factor between paired users. However, there are potential problems such as hardware complexity and performance. To overcome the issues Power-Based Scheduling(PBS) algorithm is proposed for C-MIMO. PBS can provide higher performance compared to RPS and dramatically reduce hardware complexity compared to DPS

Beamspace Multiple-Input Multiple Output(MIMO) system can transmit multiple data by using Electronically Steerable Parasitic Array Radiator(ESPAR) antenna which has single Radio Frequency(RF)-chain. Beamspace MIMO system can reduce complexity of the system and size of antenna in comparison with the conventional MIMO system because of characteristic of ESPAR antenna using the single antenna and the RF-chain. Heretofore, only the research of transmitting single-carrier has been conducted by the use of beamspace MIMO system. Therefore, in this paper, we propose beamspace MIMO system based on Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing(OFDM) for transmitting the multi-carrier and analysis the performance of this system. We find a proper reactance value which has good performance because proposed system changes the performance by the reactance values of parasitic elements. and we confirm that performance of the proposed system is similar to conventional MIMO system based on OFDM.

Multiple input multiple output (MIMO) has been considered one of the key enablers of broadband wireless communications. The indoor environment is known to be favorable to ensure both high rank property and high signal-to-interference/noise ratio (SINR) to fully exploit MIMO spatial multiplexing (SM) gain. In this paper, we describe several practical deployment cases where repeater links (or relay links), such as those present with an indoor distributed antenna system (DAS), can act as keyholes to degenerate the rank property of MIMO communications. In this case, we cannot exploit MIMO SM gain in indoor environment. We propose a novel MIMO communication scheme which uses simple converter in the devices in repeater links to resolve the rank degeneration issue and to ensure MIMO SM gain in highly MIMO-favorable indoor environment. MIMO SM is possible over the indoor DAS with single cable line through use of simple converters, which enables practical deployment in real fields.

In this paper, the new beamforming is proposed for an orthogonal frequency division multiplexing(OFDM) system with multi-input multi-output(MIMO). Through the proposed Pre-FFT beamforming technique for MIMO-OFDM, the multibeams are formed toward each multi-transmitter antenna of the desired user. The proposed beamforming for MIMO-OFDM can reduce cochannel interference and get diversity gain in the multi-user environment. Therefore, the performance of MIMO-OFDM system is very improved. BER performance improvement of the proposed approach is investigated through computer simulation by applying it to MIMO-OFDM system in the multi-user environment.

While single-user spatial multiplexing multiple-input multiple-output (SU-MIMO) allows spatially multiplexed data streams to be transmitted to one node at a time, multi-user spatial multiplexing MIMO (MU-MIMO) enables the simultaneous transmission to multiple nodes. However, if the transmission time required to send packets to each node varies considerably, MU-MIMO may fail to utilize the available MIMO capacity to its full potential. The transmission time typically depends upon two factors: the link quality of the selected channel and the data length (packet size). To utilize the cumulative capacity of multiple channels in MIMO applications, the assignment of channels to each node should be controlled according to the measured channel quality or the transmission queue status of the node.A MAC protocol design that can switch between MU-MIMO and multiple SU-MIMO transmissions by considering the channel quality and queue status information prior to the actual data transmission (i.e., by exchanging control packets between transmitter and receiver pairs) could address such issues in a simple but in attractive way. In this study, we propose a new MAC protocol that is capable of performing such switching and thereby improve the system performance of very high throughput WLANs. The detailed performance analysis demonstrates that greater benefits can be obtained using the proposed scheme, as compared to conventional MU-MIMO transmission schemes.

In this paper, we suggest the novel MIMO-UWB transceiver structure which can easily be adapted for various MIMO schemes and presents MIMO channel model for obtaining correlation characteristics among channels to analyze the performance. From the indoor channel modeling, we obtain the interferences among antennas due to the MIMO channel formation through numerical simulation and analyze the performance of MIMO-UWB system under frequency selective fading. Especially, to reduce the excessive computational complexity due to the inverse matrix computation of channel transfer function, we take the scheme combining the transmitting signals estimated from each receiving antenna after recovering each transmitting antenna signal from a receiving antenna.

Performance of the Alamouti algorithm based M-ary $2{\times}N$ OSTBC(Orthogonal Space Time Block Coded) MIMO(Multi Input Multi Output) system has been simulated varying two main parameters - the number of constellation(M), and the number of receiving antennas(N). Computer simulation has also been carried out using Matlab software for performance comparison between $2{\times}N$ MIMO and MRC(Maximal Ratio Combining) diversity antenna system to evaluate the degree of enhancement achieved through the use of Alamouti $2{\times}N$ MIMO. Under 10 dB EbNo QPSK scenario, $2{\times}1$ MIMO brought 4.2 dB BER improvement over single antenna system and $2{\times}2$ MIMO resulted in 7.4 dB BER improvement over $1{\times}2$ MRC.

In this paper, binary pulse-antipodal modulation (2PAM) direct-sequence (DS) ultra-wideband (UWB) system is applied to multiple input multiple output (MIMO) system using vertical bell lab layered space-time (V-BLAST) structure to achieve high-data-rate communications over indoor wireless channels. The relationship between antenna dimension and BER performance of 2PAM DS UWB MIMO system is discussed. In the receiver of UWB-MIMO system, various MIMO detection algorithms such as zero-forcing (ZF), ZF-ordered successive interference cancellation (OSIC), minimum-mean-square-error (MMSE), MMSE-OSIC and maximum likelihood (ML) are comparatively studied.
