In vitro Propagation and Protocorm-like Body Formation of Endangered Species, Dendrobium moniliforme (멸종위기 수종 석곡(Dendrobium moniliforme)의 Protocorm-like Body 형성 및 기내증식)

  • This experiment was conducted to establish the in vitro propagation of Dendrobium moniliforme through protocorm like body (PLB) induction from the culture of leaf, stem and root explants. Frequency of PLB formation from root explants was higher than those of leaf and stem explants. PLB's proliferation in MS medium including 1.0 mg/L NAA was better than 1.0 mg/L IBA. Frequency of PLB's proliferation on medium with various concentrations of BA, Kinetin, Tidiazuron (0. 1.0, 3.0 mg/L) and NAA (0, 1.0 mg/L) was tested. The maximun proliferation of PLB's was obtained on MS medium supplemented with 3.0 mg/L BA and 1.0 mg/L NAA after 6 weeks of culture. Addition of 200 mg/L activated charcoal (AC) and 30 g/L sucrose was effective on PLB proliferation for D. moniliforme.

Oral Single-dose Toxicity Studies on Germanium-fortified Lettuce, in Mouse (게르마늄을 함유한 상추의 단일 경구투여 독성 검사)

  • Single-dose toxicity test of germanium-fortified lettuce was investigated in mice. Both sexes of C57BL/6 mice were orally administered once at a dose of 2,000 mg/kg. No death, clinical signs and pathological findings related to the treatment were observed. In addition, no significant changes in feed consumption and body weight gain were obtained during the treatment period, in spite of day-to-day fluctuation of water consumption. There were no considerable changes in hematology and serum biochemistry, except a significant decrease in GPT, GOT and LDH. Several alterations were observed in organ weight and blood biochemistry, including thymus, ovaries, heart, kidney and platelet in male or female mice. The ability of spleen cells proliferation was almost same level as shown in control group. However the population of B cells, helper T cells and cytotoxic T cells was not comparably changed in all groups. Taken together, it is suggested that single oral dose of germanium-fortified lettuce to C57BU6 mice did not cause apparent toxicological change at the dose of 2,000 mg/kg body weight.

Suppression of Dollar Spot Caused by Sclerotinia homoeocarpa on Creeping Bentgrass (Agrostis palustris Huds.) after Applying Tebuconazole, Chlorothalonil and Their Mixture (크리핑 벤트그래스에서 동전마름병 방제를 위한 Tebuconazole, Chlorothalonil 및 합제 처리)

  • This study was conducted to evaluate the control efficacy of dollar spot on creeping bentgrass after applying various amounts of tebuconazole, chlorothalonil and mixture of tebuconazole and chlorothalonil (tebuconazole+chlorothalonil). In effect of three fungicides on suppression against Sclerotinia homoeocarpa, tebuconazole and tebuconazole+chlorothalonil were found to inhibit more than 98% fungus growth on medium and 70% in chlorothalonil treatment. The control efficacy of tebuconazole at different rates of 31.25, 62.5, and $125a.i.\;mg\;m^{-2}$ on creeping bentgrass showed more than 80%. Application of tebuconazole ($125.0a.i.\;mg\;m^{-2}$), tebuconazole+chlorothalonil ($125.0a.i.\;mg\;m^{-2}+135.9a.i.\;mg\;m^{-2}$) and chlorothalonil ($135.9a.i.\;mg\;m^{-2}$) were suppressed 96%, 80%, 70% for the dollar spot severity, respectively. Correlation between application amount of fungicides and control efficacy of dollar spot was significantly positive, and suggested amount of tebuconazole, tebuconazole+chlorothalonil and chlorothalonil that might suppress more than 80% of dollar spot were calculated to 29.6, 132.2+142.8, and $157.0a.i.\;mg\;m^{-2}$, respectively.

Physicochemical Characteristics of Garlic (Allium sativum L.) on Collected from the Different Regions (국내 주요 산지별 마늘의 영양성분 비교)

  • Physicochemical characteristics of garlic collected from the different growing regions were analyzed to provide basic data for preparing nutritional composition of garlic. Moisture of garlics on cultivars from growing on China was $71.53{\pm}0.34%$ that significantly higher than domestic garlics ($59.37{\pm}0.63$-$66.92{\pm}0.72%$). Total phenol contents were $12.69{\pm}0.18$-$22.02{\pm}0.27mg/100g$, total flavonoids contents were $12.69{\pm}0.18$-$22.02{\pm}0.27mg/100g$. Total thiosulfinate and pyruvate contents were $96.28{\pm}2.55$-$150.81{\pm}0.09mg/100g$ and $132.87{\pm}0.45$-$161.37{\pm}1.58mg/100g$. Sucrose, glucose and fructose were detected from garlics, sucrose content average errors about 2-4 times due to cultivated area. Namhae garlic has the highest fructose contents than other province cultivated. 8 kinds of organic acids 11 kinds of mineral and 17 kinds of composition amino acids were detected in garlics. 5 kinds of free amino acids such as proline, alanine, tyrosine, phenylalanine and arginine were detected in all garlic samples.

Effect of Additives on Densification and Grain Growth of Magnesia (마그네시아의 치밀화 및 입자성장에 미치는 첨가물의 영향)

  • This experiment has been carried out for the purpose of investigating the effect of additives on densification and grain growth in magnesium oxide by a two-step process; hot pressing and heat treating. MgO powder has been obtained by calcining extra reagent grade MgCO3 at 90$0^{\circ}C$ for 30 minutes, and additives have been added to $MgCO_3$ in the form of soluble salts-Al$(NO_3)_3$$. $9H_2O$ and $Cr(NO_3)_3$.9H_2O$. The hot pressing has been carried out with changes of soaking time at 125$0^{\circ}C$ under the pressure of 250kg/$\textrm{cm}^2$, and the heat treating also at same temperature. The initial particle size of MgO measured by particle size analyzer was 0.86 microns. Densification rate obeyed the equation D=K lnt + C, and grain growth rate obeyed the equation G-G0=kt1/2. It was vaporization of some $Cr_2O_3$ and formation of solid solution that had an influence on desification of MgO containing $Cr_2O_3$. Activation energy for grain growth of pure MgO was 62.4 kcal/mole, therefore grain growth was supposed to be diffusioncontrolled process. But after heat treatmeat, excess additives were expected to slow down the grain growth by the formation of second phase or the solute atoms at grainboundary.

Evaluaton of Corrosion-resistant Alloys for Safety Metal Filter of IGCC System (석탄가스 정제를 위한 safety filter 제작용 내식 합금의 평가)

  • 석탄가스화 복합발전의 집진 공정에 사용하기 위한 금속제 safety filter의 재질 선정을 위하여 황화수소 가스 분위기에서 합금강의 부식 특성을 규명하였다. 사용 합금강은 SUS 310, SUS 316, Inconel 600과 Hastelloy X이다. 전기로 내에 설치된 지름 50mm의 qualtz 튜브 반응기에서 부식실험이 행하여졌다. 40$0^{\circ}C$부터 $700^{\circ}C$까지의 등은 조건에서 실험이 행하여졌고, 분위기 가스의 영향을 보기 위하여 H$_2$S 가스를 함유한 $N_2$(dry), $N_2$(saturation), $CO_2$(dry), 그리고 석탄가스 분위기에서 실험하였다. 부식 생성물을 파악하기 위하여 X-ray 회절기와 주사전자현미경 분석이 함께 이루어졌다. 1.7% H$_2$S, $600^{\circ}C$ 이하 온도 조건에서는 니켈계 내식강 중 Hastelloy X와 철계 내식강 중 SUS 310 등 고크롬 합금강이 IGCC 용 필터 소재 금속으로서 높은 내부식성을 나타내었다. 0.3%~4.99% 황화수소 농도 범위에서 황화수소 농도 변화에 따라서 SUS 310의 경우 3~237mg/d$m^2$.day, Inconel 600의 경우 4~660mg/d$m^2$.day로 부식속도는 크게 증가되었다. 50$0^{\circ}C$, 석탄가스 분위기에서 부식속도는 SUS 310은 45mg/d$m^2$.day, SUS 316은 110mg/d$m^2$.day, Inconel 600은 576mg/d$m^2$.day, 그리고 Hastelloy X 는 140mg/d$m^2$.day로서 합금강 시편 중 SUS 310 합금강이 가장 우수한 내식성을 나타내었다. 부식 표면에는 황화니켈, 황화철 피막이 형성되었다.

  • As measure against the environmental pollution, maximum efforts to improve of the environmental pollution have also been made; removal of the contaminated sediments of the bay and the coastal area, monitoring of several heavy metal levels in fishes, shell fishes, sea water and sediment, and so on. The objective of this research is to investigate how much metals are included in the sea water, sediment, fishes and shell fishes in kyeongnam coastal area. Specifically, we are investigating the relationships between the metal included in fishes and sea water, and shell fishes and sediment, and heavy metals and heavy metals respectively. Heavy metal over the studied component and area, the average concentrations of Pb, Cd, Cr and Hg in sea water were 0.0029 mg/L, 0.005 mg/L, 0.0016 mg/L and ND, those of sediment were 11.9583 mg/kg, 0.2136 mg/kg, 1.9158 mg/kg and Hg 0.0108 mg/kg, those of fishes were 0.4358 mg/kg. 0.0726 mg/kg, 1.1188 mg/kg and Hg 0.0622 mg/kg, and those of shellfishes were Pb 0.6738 mg/kg, Cd 0.2223 mg/kg, Cr 0.5516 mg/kg and Hg 0.0117 mg/kg respectively. In the relationship test, Cd was significant in the relationship between fishes and sea water, and Hg was significant in the relationship between sediment and shellfishes.

복합오염물질 처리를 위한 Hybrid PRB System

  • A hybrid permeable reactive barriers(hybrid PRBs) composed of Fe(II) PRB, biological PRB and sorptive PRB was investigated to treat groundwater with multiple contaminations. We performed batch, column and pilot tests to determine removal rates and design parameters of each PRB media, and operated two hybrid PRB systems with pilot-scale barriers in series. The pilot test of the hybrid PRB system with the combination of Fe(II), biological media and black shale showed multiple contaminations could be removed in ground water. Nitrate could be treated below 20 mg/L and Cr(VI) was treated down to 0.05 mg/L. TCE was degraded below 0.001 mg/L in system. The hybrid PRB system with a proper combination of PRBs could remediate ground water with multiple contaminations.

  • 마그네슘 합금은 비강도, 전동감쇠능 등 여러 장점으로 인하여 모바일 제품, 자동차 항공기 등 여러 영역에서 사용되고 있다. 하지만 내부식성 문제로 인하여 사용이 제한되고 있는 실정이다. 마그네슘 합금의 표면 처리는 기존에 전해 및 무전해 도금, 양극산화, 화성처리 등의 방법의 있으나 일반적으로 화성처리인 3가 크로데이트 후 도장 공정이 내식성 증가를 위해 적용되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 전기화학적인 방법으로 3가 크로메이트를 대체할 수 있는 친환경적이고 경제적인 아연 코팅을 마그네슘합금(AZ91) 소재에 생성시켰다. 표면특성 및 전기화학적인 분석은 SEM, EDX, XRD, potentiostat/galvanostat을 이용하였다.

  • In this GLP study, 4 study groups of 12 Sprague-Dawley (SD) rats/sex were given vehicle, or 1,000, 1,500, or 2,000 mg/kg/day Sophora Japonica Linne Seed Extract (SE) for 13 weeks.
