pp.Hartman and G. Stampacchia [6] proved the following theorem in 1966: If f:X.rarw. $R^{n}$ is a continuous map on a compact convex subset X of $R^{n}$ , then there exists $x_{0}$ ..mem.X such that $x_{0}$ , $x_{0}$ -x>.geq.0 for all x.mem.X. This remarkable result has been investigated and generalized by F.E. Browder [1], [2], W. Takahashi [9], S. Park [8] and others. For example, Browder extended this theorem to a map f defined on a compact convex subser X of a topological vector space E into the dual space $E^{*}$; see [2, Theorem 2]. And Takahashi extended Browder's theorem to closed convex sets in topological vector space; see [9, Theorem 3]. In Section 2, we obtain some variational inequalities, especially, generalizations of Browder's and Takahashi's theorems. The generalization of Browder's is an earlier result of the first author [8]. In Section 3, using Theorem 1, we improve and extend some known fixed pint theorems. Theorems 4 and 8 improve Takahashi's results [9, Theorems 5 and 9], respectively. Theorem 4 extends the first author's fixed point theorem [8, Theorem 8] (Theorem 5 in this paper) which is a generalization of Browder [1, Theroem 1]. Theorem 8 extends Theorem 9 which is a generalization of Browder [2, Theorem 3]. Finally, in Section 4, we obtain variational inequalities for multivalued maps by using Theorem 1. We improve Takahashi's results [9, Theorems 21 and 22] which are generalization of Browder [2, Theorem 6] and the Kakutani fixed point theorem [7], respectively.ani fixed point theorem [7], respectively.

The electrical properties such as dielectric constants and dielectric losses in the spinel samples of $LiGaTiO_4$, Li(Ga,Eu)$TiO_4$, $Li(Ga.Yb)TiO_4$ have been characterized by varying measuring temperature and frequency. The long range order structures are analyzed by rietveld refinement method. and local atomic disorder structures are analyzed by MEM (maximum entropy method). The relation between the crystal structure and dielectric properties are discussed. $LiGaTiO_4$ spinel has the IMMA with lattice constant, a = 5.86333, b=17.5872. c = 8.28375 ${\AA}$, Li-sites are partially substituted by Ga or Ti. Two crystallographic oxygen sites are partially occupied(40~50%). The dielectric constants of $LiGaTiO_4$, $LiYbTiO_4$, and $LiGa_{2/6}Eu_{1/6}Ti_{1.5}O_4$ ceramics were 127, 75 and 272, respectively at 100 kHz. The dielectric relaxation were observed in the $LiGaTiO_3$ ceramics and the temperature where dielectric loss shows maximum was $390^{\circ}C$ at 1 kHz and increased with increasing the measuring frequency.
The purpose of the study was to evaluate the cytotoxic effects of polycarboxylate cements and zinc phosphate cements in vitro. Human fibroblasts were cultured in ${\alpha}$-MEM, and each cement was manually mixed and filled in glass ring cylinder (8${\times}$8mm in diameter, in height.) Cement filled cylinders were placed in the center of the dish (35mm in diameter) containing 3ml of ${\alpha}$-MEM. Millipore filters to simulate dentinal barrier were also placed between the cylinder and the dish, then stored in 5% $CO_2$ containing chamber for 1 and 2 weeks at the temperature of $36.6^{\circ}C$. The results of the experiments were analyzed by counting the cells in the period of one week and two weeks respectively, and were assessed by calculating the cell multiplication rate and the relative growth rate. The experimental groups and the control group were compared. The results of the study were summarized as follows. 1. Durelone brand of the polycarboxylate cements showed marked cytotoxicity after one week, but after two weeks the toxicity decreased remarkably. Poly-F brand exhibited moderate cytotoxicity after one week, but after two weeks the toxicity slightly decreased. HY-BOND brand was weakly cytotoxic after one week, but after two weeks the toxicity became significant. 2. The cytotoxicity of the zinc phosphate cements was negligible after one week, but after two weeks Lee Smith brand revealed considerable cytotoxicity. 3. In general, the zinc phosphate cements were less cytotoxic than the polycarboxylate cements.
The objective of this study was to determine effects of different culture media. Preantral follicles were mechanically extracted from bovine ovaries and cultured for 16 days in tissue culture medium (TCM)-199, DMEM or alpha-minimal essential medium ($\alpha$-MEM) + 10% FBS + 0.1 mg/ml sodium pyruvate + 100 mIU/ml FSH. The collected primary follicles from ovary were higher than the primary and secondary follicles. The survival rates of the follicles in TCM-199 were significantly higher (p<0.05) than those in DMEM and $\alpha$-MEM. The diameter of the follicles progressively increased during 12 days of culture. The maximum size ($139.1{\pm}5.4\;{\mu}m$) reached on Day 12 of the in vitro culture and decreased on Day 16. These results suggest that in a culture of bovine preantral follicles, TCM-199 is an optimal medium and a longer-term culture of preantral follicles (>12 days) may be needed to form antra.

The smart grid with distributed power supply introduces a number of problems including not only the problems of the existing power grid but also the problem of protection co-operation due to new electric phenomenon because it has a mixed operation structure combining the existing radial operation structure and the new loop operation structure. The EMTP based power system analysis method has flexibility and convenience from the view of system configuration but it requires another experimental verification because of uncertainty of design and analysis results. On the other hand, the real demonstration system has difficulties in observing accurate fault on large scale system due to considerable economical and spatial construction cost, system configuration constraint, and it is difficult to demonstrate the distributed, autonomous and adaptive control strategy of smart grid. In this paper, a basic theory for a micro smart grid simulator design using MEMS(Micro Electro-Mechanical Systems) miniaturization technology is studied which can safely and freely experiment and observe electrical phenomena, and distribution, autonomous adaptive control strategy for disturbances on 22.9kV smart grid under minimum economic and spatial cost.

A floating body with a device that converts solar energy into electrical energy is moved by waves. To evaluate the safety of a floating body, measurement and interpretation of the float motion is required, which is generally based on 6 degrees of freedom motion. The 6 degree of freedom motion can be measured using MEMS (Micro-Electro Mechanical System), which features low power, small size and low cost. The key issue is, meanwhile, the low precision of the MEMS. In this study, the safety evaluation technique by analyzing the behavior of floating body using MEMS was examined. As a result of the study, it was found that the marine floating body can be modeled through the inertial measurement platform using the 3-axis accelerometer and the 3-axis gyroscope, and the safety of the float can be evaluated through this model.

In this paper, we propose a parallel approximate string matching algorithm with k-mismatches for multiple fixed-length patterns (PMASM) in DNA sequences. PMASM is developed from parallel single pattern approximate string matching algorithms to effectively calculate the Hamming distances for multiple patterns with a fixed-length. In the preprocessing phase of PMASM, all target patterns are binary encoded and stored into a look-up memory. With each input character from the input string, the Hamming distances between a substring and all patterns can be updated at the same time based on the binary encoding information in the look-up memory. Moreover, PMASM adopts graphics processing units (GPUs) to process the data computations in parallel. This paper presents three kinds of PMASM implementation methods in GPUs: thread PMASM, block-thread PMASM, and shared-mem PMASM methods. The shared-mem PMASM method gives an example to effectively make use of the GPU parallel capacity. Moreover, it also exploits special features of the CUDA (Compute Unified Device Architecture) memory structure to optimize the performance. In the experiments with DNA sequences, the proposed PMASM on GPU is 385, 77, and 64 times faster than the traditional naive algorithm, the shift-add algorithm and the single thread PMASM implementation on CPU. With the same NVIDIA GPU model, the performance of the proposed approach is enhanced up to 44% and 21%, compared with the naive, and the shift-add algorithms.
Objective: The main objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of different feeding levels of a total mixed ration silage-based diet on feed intake, total tract digestion, enteric methane emissions, and energy partitioning in two beef cattle genotypes. Methods: Six mature bulls (three Thai natives, and three Thai natives - Charolais crossbreeds) were assigned in a replicated $3{\times}3$ Latin square design, with cattle breed genotype in separate squares, three periods of 21 days, and three energy feeding above maintenance levels (1.1, 1.5, and 2.0 MEm, where MEm is metabolizable energy requirement for maintenance). Bulls were placed in a metabolic cage equipped with a ventilated head box respiration system to evaluate digestibility, record respiration gases, and determine energy balance. Results: Increasing the feeding level had no significant effect on digestibility but drastically reduced the enteric methane emission rate (p<0.05). Increasing the feeding level also significantly increased the energy retention and utilization efficiency (p<0.01). The Thai native cattle had greater enteric methane emission rate, digestibility, and energy utilization efficiency than the Charolais crossbred cattle (p<0.05). The daily metabolizable energy requirement for maintenance in Thai native cattle ($388kJ/kg\;BW^{0.75}$, where $BW^{0.75}$ is metabolic body weight) was 15% less than that in Charolais crossbred cattle ($444kJ/kg\;BW^{0.75}$). Conclusion: Our results suggested that the greater feeding level in zebu beef cattle fed above maintenance levels resulted in improved energy retention and utilization efficiency because of the reduction in enteric methane energy loss. The results also indicated higher efficiency of metabolisable energy utilization for growth and a lower energy requirement for maintenance in Bos indicus than in Bos taurus.

Most of the emerging diseases that threaten humans are caused by RNA viruses which are extremely mutable during evolution. The fish RNA virus, viral hemorrhagic septicemia virus (VHSV) can infect a broad range of aquatic animal hosts, but the transmissibility of VHSV to mammals has not been thoroughly investigated. Therefore, our study aimed to investigate the potential adverse effects of VHSV in mammals. Briefly, the survival of VHSV was determined using only minimum essential media (MEM-2) and mammalian SNU-1411 and hepa-1c1c7s cells at 15℃ and 37℃. Mice (Mus musculus, 27.3 ± 1.9 g) were intravenously injected with VHSV (2.37E+05 TCID50·mice-1) in triplicate. Clinical signs and survival rates were examined at 14 days post-challenge, and infection was confirmed in the surviving mice. The 50% tissue culture infective dose (TCID50) and polymerase chain reaction analysis were used to determine viral titers and the infection rate, respectively. The titer of VHSV suspended in MEM-2 at 15℃ was reduced by only one log after 8 days, whereas the virus maintained at 37℃ was inactivated 8 days post-inoculation (dpi). There were no recognizable cytopathic effects in either SNU-1411 or hepa-1c1c7s cells inoculated with VHSV at 15℃ and 37℃. VHSV in those cell lines at 37℃ was rapidly decreased and eventually inactivated at 12 dpi, whereas virus at 15℃ remained at low concentrations without replication. In vivo experiment showed that there were no signs of disease, mortality, or infection in VHSV-infected mice. The results of this study indicate that it is highly unlikely that VHSV can infect mammals including humans.
This study was to establish in uitro culture system of mouse preantral follicles and to obtain higher in vitro development rates and production of live young. Preantral follicles were obtained from 12-day-old FI mouse (C57BL $\times$ CBA) by enzymatical methods. Oocyte-granulosa cell complexes (OGCs) of preantral follicles were loaded on Transwell-COL insert and cultured in $\alpha$MEM supplemented with 5% FBS, 100 mIU/$m\ell$ FSH and 100 mIU/$m\ell$ hMG for IVG. IVM was performed in $\alpha$MEM supplemented 1.5 IU/$m\ell$ hCG for 18 hrs and IVF was carried out in Ml6 medium. Embryos were cultured in modified Ml6 medium supplemented 10% FBS for 4 days. The effect of the OGCs size on the nuclear/cytoplasmic maturation was significantly higher in 120-150 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ (MII: 33.0%, $\geq$2-cell: 36.7%, $\geq$morula: 20.9%) than in 70-110 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ (MII: 12.2%, $\geq$2-cell: 10.2%, $\geq$morula: 4.8%) (p<0.001). In period of the IVG days, the rate of $\geq$2-cell was significantly higher in 10 days(38.2%) than in 12 days (20.0%) (p<0.01). In period of IVF time, 9 hrs ($\geq$2-cell: 31.5%, $\geq$ morula: 14.3%) indicated significantly higher cytoplasmic maturation rate than 4 hrs ($\geq$2-cell: 17.5%, This study was to establish in vitro culture system of mouse preantral follicles and to obtain higher in vitro development rates and production of live young.
