  • ITER 초전도자석 전원공급장치의 통합제어를 위한 마스터제어기는 각 플랜트시스템(CCPS, TFPS, PFCS)에 대한 3개의 MCS로 구성되며, 전체 전원장치 I&C 시스템의 통합을 위하여 플랜트 레벨에서의 PSH 통합이 필요하다. ITER 제어시스템에서 제공하는 플랜트 시스템 I&C의 통합 기능을 이용하여 통합시 고려해야 하는 문제점 및 이슈들을 조사하여, 향후 마스터제어기의 통합 시험에 필요한 기능들을 사전에 점검하고, 통합오류를 최적화하여 마스터 제어기 제작 및 시험에 적용하고자 한다.

  • This paper suggested a new sensorless driving strategy for brushless de motor which can improve the conventional degradation of highspeed operating performances, lowspeed operating performances and starting performances caused by applying general single pwm switching frequency. By varying PWM switching frequency during operating time, the proposed method can get some desired upper performances. For confirming the validity of the proposed method, the sensorless driving system is implemented with an rPM module and 87c196MC micro controller.

Soft-Switching T-Type Multilevel Inverter

  • In order to improve the conversion efficiency and mitigate the EMI problem of conventional hard-switching inverters, a new soft-switching DC-AC inverter with a compact structure and a low modulation complexity is proposed in this paper. In the proposed structure, resonant inductors are connected in series for the arm branches, and resonant capacitors are connected in parallel for the neutral point branches. With the help of resonant components, the proposed structure achieves zero-current switching on the arm branches and zero-voltage switching on the neutral point branches. When compared with state-of-art soft-switching topologies, the proposed topology does not need auxiliary switches. Moreover, the commutation algorithm to realize soft-switching can be easily implemented. In this paper, the principle of the resonant operation of the proposed soft-switching converter is presented and its performance is verified through simulation studies. The feasibility of the proposed inverter is evaluated experimentally with a 2.4-kW prototype.

  • Transposable elements (TEs) are DNA sequences capable of mobilization from one location to another in the genome. Since the discovery of 'Dissociation (Dc) locus' by Barbara McClintock in maize (1), mounting evidence in the era of genomics indicates that a significant fraction of most eukaryotic genomes is composed of TE sequences, involving in various aspects of biological processes such as development, physiology, diseases and evolution. Although technical advances in genomics have discovered numerous functional impacts of TE across species, our understanding of TEs is still ongoing process due to challenges resulted from complexity and abundance of TEs in the genome. In this mini-review, we briefly summarize biology of TEs and their impacts on the host genome, emphasizing importance of understanding TE landscape in the genome. Then, we introduce recent endeavors especially in vivo retrotransposition assays and long read sequencing technology for identifying de novo insertions/TE polymorphism, which will broaden our knowledge of extraordinary relationship between genomic cohabitants and their host.

  • Magnetic Contactor (MC) research traditionally focuses on arc erosion influenced by contact material. In recent times, with an increasing demand for efficient utilization of DC devices and swift processing, the operational speed of MCs has become paramount. While AgSnO2 generally displays superior response characteristics to AgCdO, this understanding remains material-specific. In this paper, complete MCs were constructed, and the operational speeds were validated based on the two materials.

  • Carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) is an oncofetal antigen primarily detected in the peripheral blood of cancer patients, particularly in those with colorectal cancer. CEA is considered a valuable target for antigen-specific immunotherapy. In this study, we induced the anti-tumor immunity for CEA through the administration of a dendritic cell (DC) vaccine. However, there was a limitation in inducing tumor regression in the DC vaccinated mice. To enhance the efficacy of anti-tumor immunity in MC38/CEA2 tumor-bearing mice, we evaluated the effects of DC vaccine in combination with cyclophosphamide (CYP). Administration of CYP 100 mg/kg in mice resulted in significant inhibition of tumor growth in the 2-day tumor model, whereas a lower inhibition of tumor growth was seen in the 10-day tumor model. Therefore, the 10-day tumor model was selected for testing chemo-immunotherapy. The combined CYP and DC vaccine not only increased tumor antigen-specific immune responses but also induced synergistic anti-tumor immunity. Furthermore, the adverse effects of CYP such as weight loss and immunosuppression by regulatory T cells and myeloid-derived suppressor cells showed a significant reduction in the combined chemo-immunotherapy treatment compared with CYP alone. Our data suggest that chemoimmunotherapy with the DC vaccine may offer a new therapeutic strategy to induce a potent anti-tumor effect and reduce the adverse effects of chemotherapy.

  • A MVC (Multi-view Video Coding) method, which uses both an illumination change-adaptive ME (Motion Estimation)/DC (Motion Compensation) and a 2D (Dimensional) direct mode, is proposed. Firstly, a new SAD (Sum of Absolute Difference) measure for ME/MC is proposed to compensate the Luma pixel value changes for spatio-temporal motion vector prediction. Illumination change-adaptive (ICA) ME/MC uses the new SAD to improve both MV (Motion Vector) accuracy and bit saving. Secondly, The proposed 2D direct mode that can be used in inter-view prediction is an extended version of the temporal direct mode in MPEG-4 AVC. The proposed MVC method obtains approximately 0.8dB PSNR (Peak Signal-to-Noise Ratio) increment compared with the MPEG-4 AVC simulcast coding.

Implementation of Visible monkey into general-purpose Monte Carlo codes: MCNP, PHITS, and Geant4

  • Recently, a new monkey computational phantom, called Visible Monkey, was developed for non-ionizing radiation studies in animal research. In this study, we extended its applications to ionizing radiation studies by implementing the voxel model of the Visible Monkey into three general-purpose Monte Carlo (MC) codes: MCNP6, PHITS, and Geant4. The implementation work for MCNP and PHITS was conducted using the LATTICE, UNIVERSE, and FILL cards. The G4VNestedParameterisation class was used for Geant4. Then, organ dose coefficients (DCs) for idealized photon beams in the antero-posterior direction were calculated using the three codes and compared, showing excellent agreement (differences <3%). Additionally, organ DCs in other directions (postero-anterior, left-lateral, and right-lateral) were calculated and compared with those of the newborn and 1-year-old reference phantoms. Significant differences were observed (e.g., the stomach DC of the monkey was 5-fold greater than that of the 1-year-old phantom at 0.03 MeV) while the differences tended to decrease with increasing energy (mostly <20% at 10 MeV). The results of this study allows conducting MC simulations using the Visible Monkey to estimate organ-level doses, which should be valuable to support/improve monkey experiments involving ionizing radiation exposures.

A Study on the Deposition Condition for Stoichimetric $\textrm{Ta}_2\textrm{O}_5$ Thin Films by DC Magnetron Reactive Sputtering Technique (DC Magnetron 반응성 스퍼터링 방법을 이용한 stoichiometric $\textrm{Ta}_2\textrm{O}_5$막의 증착조건에 관한 연구)

  • The deposition condition to obtain stoichiometric $Ta_2$O\ulcorner films, which is still controversial, using magnetron reactive sputtering was studied. The films were deposited by varying $O_2$gas flow rate with sputtering power and Ar gas flow rate of 200W and 60 sccm fixed. At the conditions of $O_2$ gas flow rate over 20 sccm, amorphous Tantalum oxide films with the refractive index of 2.1 and dielectric constant of 25 were deposited. Among those films, the capacitors dielectric properties of the film deposited at the condition of $O_2$ gas flow rate 50 sccm was best, the leakage current was 1$\times$10\ulcornerA/$\textrm{cm}^2$ at the electric field strength of 0.5 MC/cm and the breakdown field strength was over 2.0 MV/cm. This result could be explained from the analysis comparing with a standard sample using RBS because the composition of the film deposited at this condition was closest to the stoichiometric $Ta_2$O\ulcorner. The result of XPS analysis convinced that this film was stoichiometric $Ta_2$O\ulcorner film. A maximum cathode voltage was observed when $O_2$gas flow rate was 30 sccm. This shows that the Schiller's proposition that one can obtain stoichiometric films at the condition of maximum cathode voltage is not correct and more oxygen than that of the maximum voltage condition is necessary to deposit the stoichiometric Ta$_2$O\ulcorner films.

  • Scribing the transparent conductive oxide(TCO) is an essential technology for the large scaled dye-sensitized solar cell(DSC) and the commercialization of the DSC. Laser systems are most used for scribing technology due to their precision. However, it is difficult to generalize systems because most systems are large and heavy. In this study, we tried to simplificate the Nd:YAG laser system for scribing TCO of the DSC by using switched mode power supply(SMPS) technique. The continuous conduction mode booster converter topology is applied and MC34262 power factor controller is used for the variable frequency control. Finally, SMPS circuit which specifications are 400W of capacity, 400V DC output and 98% of efficiency is fabricated. And it is demonstrated that the scribing TCO is completed by the Nd:YAG laser using this SMPS circuit.
