Evaluation System of Psychological Feelings for Corporate Identity Symbol Marks Using Fuzzy Neural Networks (퍼지 - 뉴럴네트워크를 이용한 CI 심벌마크의 감성평가시스템)

  • In this paper, we construct an automatic evaluation system of psychological feeling for corporate identity (CI) symbol mark based on a fuzzy neural network technique. The system is modelled by trainable fuzzy inference rules with several input variables (qualitative and quantitative design components of CI symbol mark) and a single output variable (consumer's feeling). The back propagation learning algorithm, which is a conventional learning method of multilayer feedforward neural networks, is used for parameter identification of the fuzzy inference system. The learning ability to train data and the generalization ability to test data are evaluated for the proposed evaluation system by computer simulations.

  • A quantitative analysis of a surface roughness for a precision machining of a sculptured surface in milling process is treated under superposition theory in this paper. The geometrical surface rouhgness is calculated as a function of feed per tooth, path interval, radii of tool and cutting edge, and radii of curvatures of workiece. Through machining experiments in a 3-axis machining center, we confirmed the adequacy of the adequacy of the analysis. While cutter mark is neglegible in ball endmilling, it is significant in flat endmilling. When feed per tooth is very small, flat endmilling gives superior finish to ball endmilling. In flat endmilling, cutting condition and cutter path should be strategically chosen to balance the cutter mark height and cusp height.

  • Two computational methods for determining equilibrium states for the Mark-IV electrorefiner (ER) have been assessed to improve the current computational electrorefiner model developed at University of Idaho. Both methods were validated against measured data to better understand their effects on the calculation of the equilibrium compositions in the ER. In addition, a sensitivity study was performed on the effect of specific unknown activity coefficients-including sodium in molten cadmium, zirconium in molten cadmium, and sodium chloride in molten LiCl-KCl. Both computational methods produced identical results, which stayed within the 95% confidence interval of the experimental data. Furthermore, sensitivity to unavailable activity coefficients was found to be low (a change in concentration of less than 3 ppm).

Comparison of Bentgrass Recovery Speed on Golf Green Followed by Methods of Ball Mark Repair Practise (골프장 그린의 볼마크 수리방법에 따른 벤트그래스의 회복속도 비교)

  • This study was conducted to investigate a proper method of ball mark repair by comparing the creeping bentgrass recovery speed on golf course green treated by various methods of ball mark repair. Nine general repairing methods were tested and compared; control (no repair, A type), two common methods of USGA (B type) and GCSAA (C type), three methods with fork shaped hand set performing at Korean golf courses (Ansung Benest, D; Sky72, E; Lakeside, F type), and three methods using the repair machine with 6, 8, or 14 teeth (G, H, I type, respectively). Three creeping bentgrass cultivar of 'Penncross', 'T-1', and 'CY-2' were tested in this field experiment. This test was carried out from September to November in 2009 at the nursery on the Seoul Lakeside Golf course. The average speed of turfgrass recovery after various ball mark repairing methods have been ranked as in the order of E, D, C, B, F, I, H, G, and A. The methods of hand practise showed more effective results than repair method using machines. The ball mark recovery speeds of 'Penncross' were in the order of E, D, B, C, F, I, H, and A. In the case of 'T1' and 'CY-2', similar orders were showed as D, E, B, F, C, H, I, A, G and the order of D, E, C, F, B, H, G, I, A, respectively. The ball mark recovery speed among creeping bentgrass cultivar resulted in the order of 'CY-2', 'Penncross', and 'T-1'. The most proper method of ball mark repair was repair method using a hand set tool especially the method of the Sky72 Golf course (E type). At the first, remove a damaged grass area with fork and tap. And then gather the side grasses into the center area with pulling the grasses with fork. After that, make harden and flat on the turf surface by pounding and rolling with the round wooden stick. The final Nstep, water the repaired grass surface. This ball mark repairing practise showed a most rapid and proper recovery method on creeping bentgrass green.

  • Hiatal hernia is a rare disease in Korea compared to western countries. It is even rarer to find the one that requires operation after unsuccessful medical treatments. We operated three cases of hiatal hernia with gastroesophageal reflux by Belsey-Mark IV procedure. One case developed paraesophageal hernia postoperatively and we performed laparotomy to correct the complication. Postoperatively, all three cases showed satisfactory results clinically and radiographically.

COMPARISON OF THE TIME-SIGNAL SYSTEM OF AUTOMATIC WATER CLOCKS DURING THE YUAN DYNASTY AND THE KING SEJONG ERA OF THE JOSEON DYNASTY (원대(元代)와 세종대(世宗代) 자동 물시계 시보시스템 비교)

  • In this study, we investigated the time signal devices of Deungnu (circa 1270) and Gungnu (1354), the water clocks produced during the Yuan Dynasty (1271-1368). These clocks influenced Heumgyeonggaknu (1438) of the Joseon Dynasty (1392-1910), exemplifying the automatic water clocks of the Yuan Dynasty. Deungnu, Gungnu, and Heumgyeonggaknu can be considered as automatic mechanical clocks capable of performances. The Jega-Yeoksang-Jip (Collection of Calendrical and Astronomical Theories of Various Chinese Masters) contains records of Deungnu extracted from the History of the Yuan Dynasty. We interpreted these records and analyzed reproduction models and technical data previously produced in China. The time signal device of Deungnu featured a four-story structure, with the top floor displaying the four divine constellations, the third floor showcasing models of these divinities, the second floor holding 12-h jacks and a 100-Mark ring, and the first floor with four musicians and a 100-Mark Time-Signal Puppet providing a variety of visual attractions. We developed a 3D model of Deungnu, proposing two possible mechanical devices to ensure that the Time-Signal Puppet simultaneously pointed to the 100-Mark graduations in the east, west, south, and north windows: one model reduced the rotation ratio of the 100-Mark ring to 1/4, whereas the other model maintained the rotation ratio using four separate 100-Mark rings. The power system of Deungnu was influenced by Suunuisangdae (the water-driven astronomical clock tower) of the Northern Song Dynasty (960-1127); this method was also applied to Heumgyeonggaknu in the Joseon Dynasty. In conclusion, these automatic water clocks of East Asia from the 13th to 15th centuries symbolized creativity and excellence, representing scientific devices that were the epitome of clock-making technology in their times.

  • The objective of this study is to provide faster mobile web service by improving performance of Contents Cache used for mobile web service in the existing Mobile Gate System. It was found that two elements existed in Mark-Up page transcoded by Contents Generator. One of the elements was dependent only on the requested DIDL page and Mark-Up type. The other was dependent on each of the requested DIDL page, Mark-Up type, size of mobile display 모바일 장치 to request service, type of images available and color depth count of the images available. The conventional Contents Cache saved the entire Mark-Up page to hold both of the two elements. This caused the problem where storage space was not effectively used because reusable elements were repetitively saved in cache memory domain due to change in one of the elements even though all the other elements were the same. As a result, a larger number of transcoded Mark-Up pages could not be saved in the same cache memory size. Therefore, in this study, Mark-Up pages transcoded by Contents Generator were divided into two elements and were separately saved. Also, in order to respond to the demand for replacing data in cache with new data, this study applied two algorithms of LFU and LRU. This study proposed the method to implement cache performance of faster speed by enabling to save more number of the transcoded Mark-Up pages in the same cache storage space.

An Analysis of Shielding Design of TRIGA Mark-II Reactor

  • Korea's TRIGA Mark-Ⅱ reactor was primarily designed in 1950's and was constructed in 1962 for 100 kw thermal output, but it was upgraded to 250 kw in July 1969. Nevertheless, the shield remains unchanged, although the radiation level has increased. The result of computation On this paper shows that, with the existing shield, it is safe for the fast neutrons even after the power upgrading by 2.5 times. It is, however, somewhat dangerous for the gamma rays which are comprised of primary and secondary. For the analysis of the reactor shielding design, an attempt is made for the computation toward the horizontal direction. From theoretical point of view, it can be concluded that some layer of additional shield must be reinforced to the existing concrete in order to be radiologically safe in the reactor hall.

Difference of Risk-relievers between High Risk and Low Risk in Online Purchasing

  • The Online business model for purchasing agent service is getting more popular. However, consumers perceive more risk when buying products from foreign online purchasing agents (FOPA) than from common online sellers (COS). This study focuses on finding out how consumers manage risk when they perceive risk and what different risk-reliever strategies they use when buying from high-risk FOPA and low-risk COS. This study has proved the following two. First, when consumers perceive risk at online purchasing, they tend to select risk-reliever strategies, such as the use of communication media, online assurance mark, seller's record, and secure payment to mitigate risk. With the application of those risk-reliever strategies, they built trust with the seller. Second, risk-perception of FOPA influences usage of communication media and check of online assurance mark more strongly than that of COS. On the contrary, risk-perception of COS influences the check of seller record more strongly than that of FOPA. This study helps to explain why FOPA is proliferating, despite its inherent high risk due to the fact that buyers and sellers are separated in time and space and that buyers and sellers have different social and cultural backgrounds. This study also helps managers of E-commerce to relieve consumer's risk-perception and to build trust.

  • A 3-partite 2-digraph is an orientation of a 3-partite multi-graph that is without loops and contains at most two edges between any pair of vertices from distinct parts. Let D(X, Y, Z) be a 3-partite 2-digraph with ${\mid}X{\mid}=l,\;{\mid}Y{\mid}=m,\;{\mid}Z{\mid}=n$. For any vertex v in D(X, Y, Z), let $d^+_{\nu}\;and\;d^-_{\nu}$ denote the outdegree and indegree respectively of v. Define $p_x=2(m+n)+d^+_x-d^-_x,\;q_y=2(l+n)+d^+_y-d^-_y\;and\;r_z=2(l+m)+d^+_z-d^-_z$ as the marks (or 2-scores) of x in X, y in Y and z in Z respectively. In this paper, we characterize the marks of 3-partite 2-digraphs and give a constructive and existence criterion for sequences of non-negative integers in non-decreasing order to be the mark sequences of some 3-partite 2-digraph.
