  • In the flat panel display and semiconductor industries, the visual alignment system is considered as a core technology which determines the productivity of a manufacturing line. It consists of the vision system to extract the centroids of alignment marks and the stage control system to compensate the alignment error. In this paper, we develop a Kalman filter algorithm to estimate the alignment mark postures and propose a coarse-fine alignment control method which utilizes both original fine images and reduced coarse ones in the visual feedback. The error compensation trajectory for the distributed joint servos of the alignment stage is generated in terms of the inverse kinematic solution for the misalignment in task space. In constructing the estimation algorithm, the equation of motion for the alignment marks is given by using the forward kinematics of alignment stage. Secondly, the measurements for the alignment mark centroids are obtained from the reduced images by applying the geometric template matching. As a result, the proposed Kalman filter based coarse-fine alignment control method enables a considerable reduction of alignment time.

  • In this study, a FEM analysis is undertaken of a rubber sleeve which is mounted onto a spreading mandrel so as to avoid marking the first wrappings of coils (known as the 'end-mark'), as occasionally occurs when a concentrated load is placed on the edge of a steel sheet, significantly reducing its quality. A commercial numerical package, ANSYS, was utilized to analyze the structural behavior of the rubber sleeve. In general, the strain of the sleeve increases as the thickness of the rubber layer (H) covering the tubes increases, thus also increasing the surface of the sleeve for a constant boundary condition, and decreasing the pitch (P) between each tube, resulting in an increase in the strain on the surface of the sleeve for all rubber thickness conditions tested here. In a comparison of two different materials, rubber and urethane, when H=3 mm and P=1.1D, the maximum total deformations in these cases are 0.12669 mm and 0.086623 mm, respectively.

  • Light emitting devices (LEDs) are widely used in the liquid crystal display (LCD) industry, especially for LCD back light units. Therefore, much research has been performed to minimize manufacturing costs. However, the current process does not process LED chips from broken substrates even though the substrate is expensive sapphire wafer. This is because the broken substrates lose their alignment marks. After pre-processing, LED dies are glued onto blue tape to continue post-processing. If auxiliary alignment marks are stamped on the blue tape, post-processing can be performed using some of the LED dies from broken substrates. In this paper, a novel stamper module that can stamp the alignment mark on the blue tape is proposed, designed, and fabricated. In testing, the stamper was reliable even after a few hundred stamps. The module can position the stamp and apply the pattern effectively. By using this module, the LED industry can reduce manufacturing costs.

  • Korea's TRIGA Mark-Ⅱ reactor was primarily designed in 1950's and was constructed in 1962 for 100 kw thermal output, but it was upgraded to 250 kw in July 1969. Nevertheless, the shield remains unchanged, although the radiation level has increased. The result of computation On this paper shows that, with the existing shield, it is safe for the fast neutrons even after the power upgrading by 2.5 times. It is, however, somewhat dangerous for the gamma rays which are comprised of primary and secondary. For the analysis of the reactor shielding design, an attempt is made for the computation toward the horizontal direction. From theoretical point of view, it can be concluded that some layer of additional shield must be reinforced to the existing concrete in order to be radiologically safe in the reactor hall.

  • Studies suggest that activities in luminous AGNs, residing mostly in early-type galaxies, are triggered by merging. However, the observational evidence for the connection between mergers and AGN activity is not clear yet because tracer of the past merging activities such as tidal tail, shell are often too faint. To see if we can reveal the merging features with a small telescope, we observed an AGN, MARK 478, at z=0.077 with long exposure time (7550 seconds) in V filter at Maidanak observatory. Our 2-D fitting analysis shows that the host galaxy of MARK 478 has the bulge to the total luminosity ratio of 0.3. And the residual image, after subtracting point spread function (PSF), bulge and disk components, shows that the host galaxy has an arm-like feature that could be a spiral arm or a feature from minor merging. We also show that the structural parameters obtained from our 2-D fitting match well with those derived from HST image. The promising result suggests that studies of low redshift AGN host galaxies are possible with data from a small telescope. In order to allow a statistical analysis, we hope to expand our sample size in future.

  • When a construction company builds a high structure. many piles should be driven into the ground by a hammer whose weight is 7,000 kg in order to make the ground under the structure safe and strong. So. it is essential to determine whether a pile is penetrated into the ground enough to support the weight of the structure since ground characteristics at different locations are different each other. This paper proposes a visual measurement system for pile rebound and penetration movement including vibration using a high-speed line-scan camera and a specially designed mark to recognize two-dimensional motion parameters of the mark using only a line-scan camera. A mark stacking white and black right-angled triangles is used for the measurement, and movement information for vertical distance, horizontal distance and rotational angle is determined simultaneously. Especially- by adopting a line-scan CCD camera whose line rate is 20 ㎑. the measurement performance of dynamic characteristics of the pile at impact instant is improved dramatically.

  • This thesis suggests fixed quantity model and detailed performance procedures of an information system audit. In addition, an identification of the check-items with high operating risk and factors that might lead to serious effects on the business are made. Then, this thesis proposes the information system audit model that can grant priorities. By using this model, the orderer can evaluate objectively with digitized mark. The model can improve the effectiveness, reliability, and objectivity of the audit by minimizing the discrepancies of different opinions about audit evaluation results between auditee and the orderer. The proposed model is adapted to an application system and audit projects of the database construction. As a result, the model has received an equal mark from the result of the general reviews, thus the propriety of the proposed model was verified.

  • Before Smartphone releases, playing music form previous cellphone is very limited, so we need mp3 player instead. However, when Smartphone releases, a function of playing multimedia became one of the important things in Samrtphone including all functions of mp3 player. Even though it is easier to use since you can play music and multimedia in one device, it still has problem issues on the sound quality. This thesis will discuss about functions of EQ from Smartphone music players. After that, we will to achieve high fidelity sound through balance adjustment of Right Mark Audio Analyzer program.

  • Owing to the developed If industry, many people are more and more interested in Workflow which is an automated business processing system. In this paper, we present basic structures and various parallel processing structures of a workflow using EMFG (Extended Mark Flow Graph) that makes conceptional design available. And then, We design a workflow with EMFG. We propose the commitability verification method to check whether a workflow can complete or not and the logical bug verification method to find whether invalid components exist or not by using simulation result of it. The proposed EMFG modeling and analysis method for a workflow make it possible to become a visual and formal design. Also, it makes intuitional and mathematical analysis possible.

  • By the significant structural change in 1999, a partial privatization has occurred in Korean fossil-fuel power generation sector. Under the current price scheme wholesale electricity price is dependent on output size, and hence, may not satisfy the assumption of price-taking producers. The purpose of our study is constructing the productivity change measurements of Korean power generation sector taking into account possibly imperfect competition and variable returns to scale. Our approach based on Harrison (1994) and Levinsohn (1993) derives the plant-level productivity measurements of the period between 2001 and 2007, as well as the measurements of mark-ups and returns to scale. It is shown that the mark-up size is dependent on the plants' fuel type and is decreasing over time. Allowing for imperfect competition and variable returns to scale adjusts the productivity measurements substantially.
