  • Landslide damage comprise most part of the damages from the earthquake and it only causes the damage to lives and structures directly but also cease the operation of social system by road or lifeline failure. For these reasons hazard assesment on the landslides has been recognized very important. And hazard maps have been used to visualize the hazard of the landslide. In this study as first step for application of hazard map to domestic cases hazard maps are made for the Ul-Joo Ul-san Korea, Where the Yan-san faults are located. For building hazard maps the degree of hazard are evaluated based on Newmark displacement and the resulting maps are constructed by GIS technique. In hazard assesment maximum ground acceleration obtained from attenuation equation of wave propagation and design earthquake acceleration suggested by Ministry of construction are used for acceleration term. Hazard maps are made by GIS programs Arc/Info and Arc/View based on the digital maps and data from lab tests and elastic wave surveys The maps show the possible landslide regions significantly and the displacements of slide are proportional to the slope angles.

  • Using the idea of degree of openness and degree of nonopenness, Coker and Demirci [5] defined intuitionistic fuzzy topological spaces in Sostak's sense as a generalization of smooth topological spaces and intuitionistic fuzzy topological spaces. M. N. Mukherjee and S. P. Sinha [10] introduced the concept of fuzzy irresolute maps on Chang's fuzzy topological spaces. In this paper, we introduce the concepts of fuzzy (r,s)-irresolute, fuzzy (r,s)-presemiopen, fuzzy almost (r,s)-open, and fuzzy weakly (r,s)-continuous maps on intuitionistic fuzzy topological spaces in Sostak's sense. Using the notions of fuzzy (r,s)-neighborhoods and fuzzy (r,s)-semineighborhoods of a given intuitionistic fuzzy points, characterizations of fuzzy (r,s)-irresolute maps are displayed. The relations among fuzzy (r,s)-irresolute maps, fuzzy (r,s)-continuous maps, fuzzy almost (r,s)-continuous maps, and fuzzy weakly (r,s)-cotinuous maps are discussed.

  • This system is capable of obtaining quantitative information from images using natural features on the ortho-image maps that correspond with those from topographical maps. However, the qualitative information can also be obtained because because of the excellent visibility of ortho-image maps. There are plenty of promise for the use of ortho-image maps in the next generation topographic technology because of its wider applicability within the field. In keeping with the cutting edge, we produced ortho-image maps by scanning a specified area in narrow sections using the PKNU 2: a multispectral digital aerial photographing system made by ourselves. We evaluated the precision of the ortho-image maps, and performed an evaluation of the PKNU 2 system's capacity to improve the equipment of the PKNU 2. Ortho-image maps were made using Ground Control Points (GCPs) which were obtained from digital maps and aerial photographs of the PKNU 2. Thus, we demonstrated that it was possible to produce the ortho-image maps, which has a good constant level rate of less than 1m. The PKNU 2 system needs to be improving in the sensitivity of level maintenance equipment in the evaluation in terms of performance. It is thus required to survey the GCPs precisely for an accurate study.

  • As FRBR defines structural framework based on ER modeling for bibliographic data elements, an effective tool is required to implement FRBR model. In this paper, we present the implementation of FRBR model based on Topic Maps. To show the effectiveness of Topic Maps as the implantation language of FRBR, we implement FRBR model of MyongSungHwangHu by means of Topic Maps. We can ascertain that topic-association of Topic Maps conceptually harmonize with entity-relation of FRBR, which means that Topic Maps is suitable for the implementation of FRBR model.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate significant differences of structural knowledges among the groups(high, middle, low) when the 6th grade subjects structured the concepts of the plane figures, triangle and quadrangle, by concept maps, and to analyse the features of concept maps according to hierarchy. For this purpose, the following two research contents were investigated: 1. Investigating significant differences of structural knowledge in the concepts of the plane figures using concept maps among the groups(high, middle, low). 2. Analysing the features of concept maps according to hierarchy. The structural knowledges represented on the concept maps of triangle and quadrangle which were drawn by the subjects were analysed by propositions, hierarchies, and cross-links. Subject-self Reports about how to make the concept maps were used to analyse the features of concept maps according to hierarchy. The conclusions drawn from the results were as fellows: First, there were significant differences among the groups in proposition links. Second, there wasn't my significant difference among the groups in hierarchy. Third, there were significant differences among the groups in cross-links, and Fourth, the results of analysing the concept maps by hierarchy showed that there were differences among the individuals in constructing the knowledges.

  • This paper is to compare the contexts and old place names in old county maps of Goryeong-hyeon(高靈縣) according to the four types of maps. 23 maps covering Goryeong-hyeon were collected from the old county-map atlas(郡縣地圖帖) and Eupji(邑誌). The first type(named 'picture county map') included 8 county-maps in which information of military, and administrative contents are mainly mapped. The second type(named '1-ri grid system map') included 4 county maps in which information about beacon routes and road systems were regarded as very important. The third type(named '20-ri grid-system map(方眼地圖)' included 4 county-maps which were drawn as same scale with 20-ri(里) grids. The fourth type(named 'local county-map(地方郡縣地圖)' included 5 county maps which were drawn by local mappers. Types of toponyms which were included in maps are different by the propose of map-drawing. In the picture county maps, place names from military, and administrative contents are written. In the 1-ri grid system county maps, place names especially from military and transportation are fluent. In the 20-ri grid system county maps, generic name from natural environment, such as mountains are very fluent. In the local county maps, city-walls and castles are drawn exaggeratively and detailed generic name from warehouses and villages are written in those maps. This study shows that Daedongyeo-jido was drawn on the basis of 20-ri grid system county maps with the supplementation of geographical information.

  • Floods represent extreme hydrological phenomena that affect populations, environment, social, political, and ecological systems. After the catastrophic floods that have hit Europe and the World in recent decades, the flood problem has become more current. At the EU level, a legal framework has been put in place with the entry into force of Directive 2007/60/EC on Flood Risk Assessment and Management (Flood Directive). Two years after the entry into force of the Floods Directive, Bosnia and Herzegovina (B&H), has adopted a Regulation on the types and content of water protection plans, which takes key steps and activities under the Floods Directive. The "Methodology for developing flood hazard and risk maps" (Methodology) was developed for the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina, following the methodology used in the majority of EU member states, but with certain modifications to the country's characteristics. Accordingly, activities for the preparation of the Preliminary Flood Risk Assessment for each river basin district were completed in 2015 for the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Activities on the production of hazard maps and flood risk maps are in progress. The results of probable climate change impact model forecasts should be included in the preparation of the Flood Risk Management Plans, which is the subsequent phase of implementing the Flood Directive. By the foregoing, the paper will give an example of the development of the hydrodynamic model of the Zujevina River, as well as the development of hazard and risk maps. Hazard and risk maps have been prepared for medium probability floods of 1/100 as well as for high probability floods of 1/20. The results of LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) recording were used to create a digital terrain model (DMR). It was noticed that there are big differences between the flood maps obtained by recording LiDAR techniques in relation to the previous flood maps obtained using georeferenced topographic maps. Particular attention is given to explaining the Methodology applied in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

  • This study proposed a procedure to improve the error defection of attached cadastral maps using digital map data. In addition, this study also provided the direction for the accuracy improvement of attached cadastral maps by comparing analysis methods. - such as centroid, Lee Sallee shape index, and area index. The analysis is performed as follows. First, by using centroid measurement, the center point of cadastral maps and attached cadastral maps are compared. Secondly by using Lee Sallee shape measurement, the location accuracy of range area is investigated. Thirdly, by using area measurement, the range area within allowable error scope is verified. Based on analysis, the discrepancy between cadastral maps and the attacked cadastral maps are detected as follows; 98.2% from Lee Sallee shape index, 41.8% from centroid, 15.4% from area index in the whole error.
