  • The Locator/Identifier Separation Protocol (LISP) is a new routing architecture that implements a new semantic for IP addressing. It enables the separation of IP addresses into two new numbering spaces: Endpoint Identifiers (EIDs) and Routing Locators (RLOCs). This approach will solve the issue of rapid growth of the Internet's DFZ (default-free zone). In this paper, we propose an algorithm called the Propagated-Mode Mapping System to improve the map request process of LISP-DDT.

  • The range of hardware implementation increases in communication systems as high-speed processing is required for high data rate. In the broadband wireless access (BWA) system based on IEEE standard 802.16 the functions of higher part in the MAC layer to Provide data needed for generating MAC PDU are implemented in software, and the tasks from formatting MAC PDUs by using those data to transmitting the messages in a modem are implemented in hardware. In this paper, the interface hardware for efficient message exchange between MAC and PHY layers in the BWA system is designed. The hardware performs the following functions including those of the transmission convergence(TC) sublayer; (1) formatting TC PDU(Protocol data unit) from/to MAC PDU, (2) Reed-solomon(RS) encoding/decoding, and (3) resolving DL MAP and UL MAP, so that it controls transmission slot and uplink and downlink traffic according to the modulation scheme of burst profile. Also, it provides various control signal for PHY modem. In addition, the truncated binary exponential backoff (TBEB) algorithm is implemented in a subscriber station to avoid collision on contention-based transmission of messages. The VLSI architecture performing all these functions is implemented and verified in VHDL.

  • In order to minimize the signaling delay for a resource reservation on the new routing path after the handover of Mobile Node(MN) is completed, it is important to discover the crossover node where the old and new routing paths meet. With the 크로스오버 노드 being found, the signaling messages only need to be transferred on the changed part of the end-to-end path. The crossover node is generally discovered using the end-to-end Session ID(SID) of the established session between MN and Correspondent Node(CN). However, in the Hierarchical Mobile IPv6(HMIPv6) network, if the Mobile Anchor Point (MAP) reserves the resource by aggregate with the Home Agent(HA), the crossover node discovery cannot be performed in the general way since the aggregate SID that has established between the previous MAP and HA is different from the that of the current MAP and HA after MN's handover. In this paper, we propose a mechanism to discover the crossover node within the tunnel between the MAP and the HA in an HMIPv6 network, assuming that the Next Steps in Signaling(NSIS) is deployed for the resource reservation and the aggregate reservation is applied over the MAP and HA tunnel. The local repair required for the change of path is performed upon the crossover node discovery. The simulation results show that the proposed scheme reduces the signaling delay for the reservation and outperforms the existing scheme with respect to throughput during the handover.

  • Due to rapid development of high speed wire/wireless internet technologies, at the current age, it cares into being one phenomenon that the internet business is able to work on anyplace and anytime. In this environment, a technology of mobile agent provides very useful mechanism for personal handheld devices because of supporting migration as autonomously executable software object Instead of users. Therefore, this paper focuses on Implementing a mobile agent platform for personal handheld devices, which supports mobile agents in wire/wireless internet environment. To do this, we construct the system with modified JAMAS, based on Java, in our previous research. Based on our proposed system, we implement the browsing application in personal handheld devices to access the MIB(Management Information Base) on SNMP(Simple Network Management Protocol), which supervises network environment on wire/wireless internet. This proposed application system is easily to access the MIB managed by SNMP agent. then provides network map viewer and updates the MIB through the browser to network administrator. As a result, we can support application area of mobile agents such as hare network management. • An improved backoff algorithm for retransmission randomization for OFDMA/CDMA/slotted ALOHA used in the ranging subchannel of IEEE 802.16 network is proposed. Exploiting the fact that a base station coordinates channel access using UL-/DL-MAP in the IEEE 802.16 networks, we propose a minor modification of the existing IEEE 802.16 in order to increase throughput, decrease delay variation and achieve a graceful performance degradation in case of overload channel condition of the random access protocol. The algorithm basically estimates the number of backlogged users and arrival rate using which, the BS calculates retransmission probability for the subscriber stations involved in a collision. Computer simulation is performed to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm and to compare the performance with existing binary exponential backoff algorithm.

  • This study presented a spatial data serialization technique that can efficiently store and transmit large amounts of spatial data for precision road maps was designed and implemented. For efficient serialization, a binary spatial data structure is defined, and a coordinate value encoding technique without loss of information is designed using the Zigzag-Z-order curve. The spatial data serialization technique designed for precision road maps was tested, and the data size and encoding/decoding speed after encoding were compared with Protocol buffer and Geobuff. As a result, it was confirmed that the designed serialization method was excellent in data weight reduction performance and encoding speed. However, the decoding speed was inferior to other serialization techniques in linestring and polygon type spatial data. Through this study, it was confirmed that spatial data can be efficiently encoded, stored, and transmitted using binary serialization techniques.

  • An agent based geographic routing protocol is proposed to improve the well-known geographic routing protocol-GPSR routing protocol. In the proposed scheme, the agent is selected by sink node which concern about the source node's position as well as agent candidate's state. So packets will first be forwarded to agent and next step is to be forwarded to their final goal- sink node from agent. During the next hop selection process, nodes select their neighbors by considering not only position but also their average available buffer size. This results in efficient selection of next hop node in congestion area, and then increases the successful packet delivery ratio. The simulation is conducted for two scenarios: general number of connections and large number of connections in our map. Results show that new method with agent achieves improved performance in successful packet delivery ratio when compares to GPSR without our scheme.

  • The Network Mobility (NEMO) basic support protocol extends the operation of Mobile IPv6 to provide uninterrupted Internet connectivity to the communicating nodes of mobile networks. The protocol is not efficient to offer delays in data delivery and higher overheads in the case of nested mobile networks because it uses fairly sub-optimal routing and multiple encapsulation of data packets. In this paper, our scheme combining Hierarchical Mobile IPv6 (HMIPv6) functionality and Hierarchical Prefix Delegation (HPD) protocol for IPv6, which provide more effective route optimization and reduce packet header overhead and the burden of location registration for handoff. The scheme also uses hierarchical mobile network prefix (HMNP) assignment and tree-based routing mechanism to allocate the location address of mobile network nodes (MNNs) and support micro-mobility and intra-domain data communication. The performance is evaluated using NS-2.

  • Purpose: This study proposed a generative adversarial network (GAN) model for T2-weighted image (WI) synthesis from proton density (PD)-WI in a temporomandibular joint(TMJ) magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) protocol. Materials and Methods: From January to November 2019, MRI scans for TMJ were reviewed and 308 imaging sets were collected. For training, 277 pairs of PD- and T2-WI sagittal TMJ images were used. Transfer learning of the pix2pix GAN model was utilized to generate T2-WI from PD-WI. Model performance was evaluated with the structural similarity index map (SSIM) and peak signal-to-noise ratio (PSNR) indices for 31 predicted T2-WI (pT2). The disc position was clinically diagnosed as anterior disc displacement with or without reduction, and joint effusion as present or absent. The true T2-WI-based diagnosis was regarded as the gold standard, to which pT2-based diagnoses were compared using Cohen's ĸ coefficient. Results: The mean SSIM and PSNR values were 0.4781(±0.0522) and 21.30(±1.51) dB, respectively. The pT2 protocol showed almost perfect agreement(ĸ=0.81) with the gold standard for disc position. The number of discordant cases was higher for normal disc position (17%) than for anterior displacement with reduction (2%) or without reduction (10%). The effusion diagnosis also showed almost perfect agreement(ĸ=0.88), with higher concordance for the presence (85%) than for the absence (77%) of effusion. Conclusion: The application of pT2 images for a TMJ MRI protocol useful for diagnosis, although the image quality of pT2 was not fully satisfactory. Further research is expected to enhance pT2 quality.

  • In this paper, we propose a fast handoff algorithm for micromobility management enhancement in HMIPv6 networks, which eliminates the DAD procedure involved in the regular HMIPv6 in order to o decrease handoff latency and increase the resource utilization efficiency. In the proposed scheme, the MAP is designed to guarantee the uniqueness of MN's interface identifier within a MAP domain as long as the MN moves in a MAP domain, so that the MN configures the new address without the DAD procedure resulting in the decreased handoff latency significantly When the MN resides in a subnet, MIPv6 is used adaptively as a mobility management protocol, which is to reduce bandwidth waste from the IP packet header overhead of IP-in-IP tunneling from the regular HMIPv6. We evaluate the performance of the proposed handoff micromobility algorithm in terms of handoff delay and packet loss thru computer simulation. Thru various computer simulation results, we verified the superior performance of the proposed scheme by comparing with the results of other schemes, MIPv6 and HMIPv6.
